1500 is the cutoff. You're fucking up your metabolism eating only about 100cal a day. Find out your TDEE minus 500cal and adjust accordingly on a weekly basis. Also lift.

there aren't that many great fitness books. SS and practical programming are must reads. you should also get an anatomy book and study that, as well as basic mechanics if you didn't learn that in school.

In any case, you shouldn't be lifting with DB for too long. At least not for your main lifts.
They are great for accesory lifts though, so invest some money if you are in this for the long run.
