Sure, but you have to remember progressive overload is a thing, and having to lug around 150 pound dumbbells gets pretty cumbersome. Just get access to a squat rack famalam, it's 100x easier

Changing your body composition is impossible long term, without taking roid. Prove me wrong, post even a single female and male weight loss story where they lost 30kg (65lbs) or more weight without roids or surgery AND managed to keep it off for rest of their lives (or if they are still alive, keep it off for several years so far).

I'll try to keep this brief:
I'm female and after a severe injury I have been more or less housebound for the last maybe 18 months or so. I'm not fat but I would definitely benefit both physically and mentally by going to the gym.
However, I'm scared to sign up because I know that after such a long hiatus involving a Leg injury I need someone to show me how to exercise again properly. I'm not a moron but I know that my form will be all over the place and I don't know my limits etc etc.
Should I hire a personal trainer for a few weeks to get me back into things? Or would some kind of excerise/injury specialist be better? Is there anything I can do on my own so that I don't either hurt myself or look like an idiot?
Sorry for the long post, I hope I'm not just being really ignorant or stupid but I'd rather sound stupid on here than look like an idiot at the gym! Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated here, thanks!

Mine is smoking pot and I fucking hate it. It's a completely voluntary addiction I have that makes it so easy to hold myself back at every turn. It's like even if I manage to quit I'll still have sacrificed almost a decade of progress.
So what are you doing that holds you back /fit/?
I don't rehab injuries properly. Tweaked my lower back, tried to work through it, wasn't a good idea.

I saved up for a body lift, but I'm not sure until when to postpone the surgery.
I want to do it as early as possible, but I also want to build more muscle mass first.
I also won't be able to lift or run for a long time after the surgery.
I am 1 year into healthy food and sports, and lifting for 4 months.
I want to start living my life but I also want the best results.

Why don't you spend the money on a holiday to go trekking somewhere. It will be a better experience, the exercise will be far better for your health than chopping up your body, it won't leave a massive scar around your waist and you can't overeat the experience away like you will overeat the surgery results away because you're a lazy sack of shit with no willpower who will take an unhealthy surgery over eating less and working out.

A few days ago I got a look from a woman I was unfamiliar with but I'm pretty sure that's what they call a mire
You get to train a year for one day's worth IRL; you have any equipment you want; gym, pools, running tracks, dojo etc.
Any types of food or supplements you want in unlimited amounts.
However, if you remember, it's hot, somewhat unpleasant and your only entertainment for the duration of one year will be library with all the books you can wish for and huge amounts of lubricant with some sex toys.
Do you have the mental fortitude for it /fit/?
