Can well proportioned, aesthetic legs be built PURELY using dumbbells (adjustable)? Think pic related. By no means huge, just balanced and enough to look aesthetic as a whole.

Yes
Weight is weight

Sure, but you have to remember progressive overload is a thing, and having to lug around 150 pound dumbbells gets pretty cumbersome. Just get access to a squat rack famalam, it's 100x easier

I'm in the same boat op.
My advice is
>Weighted split squats
>Weighted pistol squats
>Plyo pistols
>Squat jumps
>Sprints
>Elevated shrimp squats

Yes. At the end of the day, is the additional hassle worth it? In this case, it is not.
Nah, bro. Muslce fibers in your legs are optimized for barbell work. So they are exponentially more prone to grow under stress caused by barbells compared to dumbell work. Of course you could only use dumbells but according to a study you have to do ten to fifteen times more work compared to just doing barbell squats.

I thought so. Thanks for the input. Say if I did use dumbbells, with regards to progressive overload, could I also add sets/reduce rest time instead of adding more weight immediately? Sorta like a 'slow' progression. Ill likely invest in a squat rack but still just wondering..

Thanks for the suggestions, I'm already doing Bulgarian split squats and seeing good results.
I think overall guys ill just use dumbbells UNTIL I can access a squat rack. I'm a home gym guy so I'm accumulating stuff bit by bit
Every barbell has a dumbbell equivilent or variation to it. For example, look up dumb bell deadlifts.

i had pretty huge legs (for normie standards) before i even hit the gym from biking, so if you would bike hard, then do squats and lunges with DB's, you could build pic related no problem

dumbbell cleans (ONE HAND), snatches (ONE HAND), jerks, old style swings (one hand, from between the legs to overhead with a straight arm in one motion), one and two arm presses, overhead squats. dont expect musch muscular development until you work up to above 100 lbs in these exercises
