How's your Disney cosplay coming along gulls? Any good Moana out there yet? Also post good Disney cosplay. Selfposts are welcome
Did Merida recently. I don't have any good photos though. I didn't set up a photoshoot or anything.

This is the wig before I fixed it up about two days later. I added some blow dryer heat to it and extended te curls lower to elongate the wig and fixed the top part so it wasn't as tall.

Your eyes are stunning! Love the dress too!
Here's a crappy cell phone pic of my Rapunzel. I don't really like self posting on /cgl/ anymore which is why I picked this zoomed out photo but I really wanted to share this spot. It's a gorgeous church in my city built in the late 1800s. We're definitely returning for a proper photoshoot soon, especially since it has a pretty garden that would work for Cinderella.
So many groups have been taking Lolita out of their names since face books appears to be deleting pages with the name in the title.
Tumblr blocks the tag #lolita. What other pages have taken the phrase Lolita out?
Could this be the opportunity we've been waiting for to rename the fashion?
>>9103702
Instagram lolita tags gone too
If the community could agree on a new name I feel like it would have happened years ago.

That's cute, it reminds me of a wedding.
Am I the only one that doesn't like jewelry/wristcuffs? I feel like without rings, bracelets, and wristcuffs my coords are never complete but even in normal fashion I've never worn things on my hands or wrists.
Hey /cgl/, I'd like to ask about what kinds of meetups your comm does. Mine is small and hardly meets up in person, but it's not really a fashionable city that I feel comfortable going alone in Lolita. Plus, I'd really like to become better friends with the girls. Some questions:
>What was your favorite meet?
(please give me lots of ideas actually, anything you can think of)
>Do you meet up more than once a month as a comm?
>How long/how many meets do you think someone should be in the comm before planning something?
I will add: summer weather here is terrible, upwards of 110°F/40°C until about September. So botanical gardens and the like are not really a thing here until winter.
Are you in my city? Because it sounds like you are.
My first meet was Summer ILD '16, so not too long ago.
I jumped in to help as soon as I arrived, the event got started smoothly, pictures first, socializing, a couple ice breakers and introductions all around, games, prizes doled out, competition, prizes, socializing, last pictures, fin.
Very hot out, but despite some melted eyelash glue all was well. The offerings were all a little too sweet for me, but the sanwiches were good. I definitely encourage water as a staple if you're serving any alcohol.
Were had our meet on a outdoor terrace on the side of a historic house/hostel. Very picturesque location. I wish I had gotten better pictures utilizing the space. Hedges are boring.

one of my favorite meets we did was going to a handmade craft fair, we all got some really cute accessories and stuff. But I live where there are lots of Asian people and so it's easy to find loliables. Other things we do are go to tea/cafes (again we have some "kawaii" cafes), art exhibits, etc.
I'm lucky my city is pretty culturally active. we tend to have a lot of different things we can go to.
Some members from a nearby community are coming to my city. Their city is wonderful and has great places for meet ups. Mine is lacking. I am thinking of organising a picnic so we don't have to go to somewhere less than ideal. Does anyone have any picnic stories/ideas?
What about rain-day alternatives?
Sew frills onto the hem of your heart!
Put a tiara on top of your soul!
Have pride.
I want to request old photo-shoots specifically. I really love seeing those.
I will do a small dump of some pictures I have in a few minutes. I have something I need to do first. Sorry about that.
I'm not a cgl regular, not really a fan of it, but I decided to start this thread because I'm feeling very sad and alone and I don't have any friends to talk to. I was hoping some vague human interaction and some happy nostalgia would take my mind off things.
Sorry probably nothing here is going to be new or exciting to anyone.

I love this picture, it looks like it's own magic world or something. I know it's not quite old school but it's close enough.
Now that ZTD has been out, let's see some good ones! I know that you gulls aren't strangers to the series.
Starting off with a selfpost that exploded a few months ago, posting individual shots of everyone too.

Never been to Anime California. Thinking of it this year though.
Anyone have any thoughts or opinions about it? How's the crowd? What makes it stand out from other cons? Good? Bad? I appreciate it.
It's a party con
Coming for the first time this year per some requests of friends that are going/staffing.
How's the masquerade? Was thinking of entering it.
>Long Beach Convention Center
Fuck yeah. I've gone to Anime Expo a handful of times and the LA Convention Center is fucking garbage.

Also, just two more weeks until Drachenfest
>>9097650
kind of related:
FINALLY the organizers translated the 6.0 rulebook of Drachenfest to english... kind of. Still missing two chapters. and there are still german sentences in there and the translation still kind of bad. at some places but whatever.

(and yeah, the rules aren't that good)
>>9097656
I hope to go next year. There is a large group of Odyssey refugees (it ends this year) want to. Not sure what kit i'd take however.
>>9097676
well, depends on which camp you want to go I presume
So this is in a few days and I'm only a 3 hour drive away.
Is it good? From what I've seen it looks like your typical small teenybopper convention.
I only been to Hoshicon once (last year) And there was nothing memorable about it. If you have to drive 3 hours, I don't suggest at all. I am going mainly to mess around in Charlotte, probably going to buy a badge on Sunday.
>>9097185
Do you think it's comparable to Ichibancon? I went there this year and wasn't too impressed, only stayed for a few hours on Saturday.
I really enjoy the con every year. It is at the very LEAST, better than Ichi. But I'm also someone who does panels for Hoshi so that's like being the CEO of McDonalds and saying the food is great,
Does anyone else daydream about having a lolita girlfriend or even a romantic friendship with another lolita?

Anyone ever deal with some seriously psycho lolitas?
>new girl in my comm (we'll call her Ashley) awk af around our most internet popular girl (we'll call her Trixie)
>is like awkward weeaboo fangirl bingo; cheap attempt at mimicing her style, calls her "senpai", comments on everything she posts to Instagram, treats her like some sort of ultra famous celebrity
>Trixie finds it cute and she's super sweet about it
>bad move. apparently girl gets wrong impression and starts clinging to her at every meet as if they're bffs.
>Trixie sometimes visibly uncomfortable, but too nice (or possibly scared) to tell her to chill
>Ashley starts showing very obvious signs of wanting to wear her skin; gets the same tattoo as her (a very specific Sailor Moon design that I have never seen on anyone else and I even actively did a search online for it), copies her hair style (has her long blonde hair cut into a short angled lavender bob with bangs), make up, and even styles her Tumblr very similarly, as well as adapting her mannerisms and typing style
>she also mimics her interests, most of which were things she has never expressed love over before her obsession with Trixie started
>Trixie tells a mutual of ours (who later shared all the details of this entire situation with me) that she is starting to get very creeped out
>Trixie starts getting anonymous Tumblr messages about how much this person loves her and wants to be her best friend
>she obviously assumes it's Ashley
(Pt. 1)
>that pic
(Pt. 2)
>she ignores them
>a few weeks later, she gets more and they're worse
>telling her how horrible and snobby she is, and how she hopes she kills herself
>she blocks them
>at next meet she confronts Ashley and asks her to prove it wasn't her by reblogging something from her Tumblr
>Ashley cannot do this, proving it was her
>she cries and says she's sorry, all she ever wanted was to be her friend then literally runs away when Trixie starts telling her what a crazy bitch she is
>she never shows her face in our comm again and deletes all her social media
>3 years later I see pic of very familiar girl on Tumblr a few hours ago
>it's Ashley
>she made a new Tumblr and Instagram
>some of the creepiest shit I've ever seen
>she still looks like Trixie, but what she looks like currently
>spend good hour comparing them to Trixie's
>her pages are both about a year and a half old and she copied all four of Trixie's major hair changes throughout that time and took similar photos to ones she did with similar captions
>she jokes about being a yandere and uses female pronouns when describing her stalkee
>got a boob job and has the exact same cupsize as Trixie now
>also now super into fitness, her interest in it appears to have started the exact time Trixie publicly announced hers
What do I do, guy? Should I tell Trixie or just let it go since she hasn't actually contacted her?
>>9079048
holy shit, please let her know so that she knows to be safe
shit like this can lead to bodily harm and other very bad things
How do all you cosplayers and lolitas support yourselves and your hobbies? I'm talking about paying the bills, not just living with your parents and working part time for minimum wage.
I'm wondering if there's a variety of different career choices or if most of us gravitate towards the same kind of work
>>9067258
>not living with your parents
Pffffffffff my minimum wage is so high I am even taking care of my mom
>>9067265
Are you a eurofag? Congrats for high minimum wage but gomen for skyrocketing immigration and rapes
I've worked in tech support most of the time, if you know how to deal with morons you can get a pretty high salary. The best money is in night/holiday shifts which are usually when support is in low demand anyways so you get money for goofing off. Also as long as it's not face-to-face support no one cares how you dress, just don't let it get in the way of your typing or headset and everything is fine.
What does /cgl/ thought about shoes like this? some says it's horrendous but I thought it would look cute on loligoths or certain school themed cosplay.

I'm all for Louboutins in lolita, but these would look like shit.

I thought that high heels like pic related don't work with Lolita?
