Looking for some suggestions on nail stamp plates. I've read the cheap ones from eBay (selling for <$1.00) aren't very good but I don't feel comfortable spending >$10.00 for a plate with 5 designs.

I'm in the US if that matters.

I just painted my nails for the first time in over a year (basic light pink + flower stickers cause lol lazy) and it feels pretty good. I'm happy to look at nail threads now.

The cheap ones are often shallow, uneven, scratched. They don't leave a clean imprint sometimes. And you can't tell if you get a crappy one until it arrives. Buy from a place with returns if you go cheap.

Do you have any stores you can recommend? I was planning on using eBay's Feedback Selector website to try to find some reputable stores but even then most feedback is along the lines of, "lol haven't tried it yet but it arrived so it's cool."

The ones on bundle monster are usually ok in reviews though occasionally scratched but the downside is buying the bundle but people say they sell their extras. I got mine at a nail supply store where I could see the plates and compare the cheaper to the more expensive ones, choose unscratched ones and return any I did not like.

When the designs are this close together, they are harder to scrape, transfer and get a single clean impression. Not a fan.

Bundle Monster has some individual plates at pretty fair prices. I'll check out eBay to see if anyone has their extras listed as well. Going to a nail supply store sounds like the best option though. There's a few near me so I'll check them out soon.

seagulls, I need your help
to start, i've just recently gotten over my nail biting habit. while thats bad as it is, the skin around my nails is really gross, bitten and dry, etc
I have no idea how to possibly hide it or help it, and i keep picking at them because i feel jittery if i'm not doing anything with my hands
secondly, my nail bed shape i really stubby, like almost circular and not long at all. what nail shapes are best for stubby nails?

Congrats on kicking your habit! Pick up some cuticle oil or coconut oil for the dry skin around your nails and start applying it everyday. For nail shaping you wont be able to do much until you have some grow out but most of it is determined by the look of your fingers. In general I'd say square/squoval nails flatter people with thin fingers and narrow nail beds and rounded/tapered nails for wide fingers/nail beds.

keeping your nails almond shaped makes them look longer! as far as the nail bed issue, use some nice oil 2-3 times a day on your cuticles and use a good hand moisteurizer before bed.
i stopped picking at the skin on my fingertips by keeping a ring on the index of my non-dominant hand, and i just fidget with that instead. hope this helps, even tho im super late!

Although these are pretty tacky, the nail shape itself is fine compared to bubble and duck feet nails. Why someone would want acrylic piled on the ends of their nails or fan them out to unnatural proportions is beyond me.

simply nailogical has turned me into a holo monster

What is there to be done about nails that simply break/peel at a certain length? My pointer fingers are the worst, they peel so that they're always short and at an angle.

I've tried several different "nail rehab" things, they didn't work. I'm also taking vitamins, specifically biotin.
