It seems like bad emulation Sega Saturn and Nintendo 64 is a meme to raise demand and, therefore, prices.
Prove me wrong - post badly emulatable games.

Evangelion 64.

Actually, N64's emulation is really terrible and the answer is always "oh you just need to tweak this and this plug in that fixes that, but at the same time fucks up this other thing". Only stuff like SM64 and OOT is emulated well because the emulators were build around these games. Most games have a lot of issues.

Not sure about Saturn because I actually own one so I haven't bothered with emulation.

Dracula X is a prominent one that has issues with the title screen, everything else is fine though. Honestly most Saturn games I've played have been fine.

Slowly biding my time until I can pick up a real one on the cheap though.

Hey /vr/,

Tomb Raider 1 > First Level two Levels - EPIC as Fuck with the T-Rex in the End!
>>
I can probably count the number of Tomb Raider levels I've actually finished (without resorting to a guide) on my fingers. And those were probably just the first handful of levels from TR1&2, the third and fourth games just got way too obtuse for me to maintain interest in.

What was the one where you had like a vertical tower to climb down and you had to go into a sequence of different rooms and complete some kind of gauntlet in each one, that was some awesome Indiana Jones shit.

It's a fucking Sega Genesis video game! Kill yourself, newfag janitor.

Discuss the Sega Genesis video game, Fido Dido ITT. I would like to have a legitimate genuine discussion about this retro game. What do you guys think about it? I never see it mentioned anywhere. Kinda just like how I could never find it in stores when I was a kid. Is this game really that unremarkable?

Apparently this character is associated with other, non-/vr/ things since my first thread got deleted for off-topic. I didn't even know he was involved with anything other than vidya though.

>>
I was the one who replied on the other thread, didn't even know he had a vidya, will check it out.

Also, you really didn't know Fido Dido was 7up's mascot in the 80s/early 90s? He was everywhere.
>>
>>3369545
No, sorry.

Literally the only memory I have of him is seeing one, small picture in a magazine and thinking he looked cool and I wanted to play it. I never did, to my disappointment, until years later when I emulated it. And now, I can't even recall anything about what the game was like. So oddly enough it's still as mysterious to me now as it ever was, even though I have played it before. Maybe I will watch a video of it sometime to refresh my memory, I dunno.

Where can I buy a modded Gameboy Color? I'm just looking for anything with a backlight. Maybe a bigger screen if that's even possible.
13 posts and 2 images submitted.
>>
>>3369295
The only main mods for the gameboy colour are the frontlight and prosound mods, you can buy units with those mods on ebay.

As for bigger screens you're out of luck.

It will be easier for you to just buy an emulation device or a gameboy advance.

Does the PS1 have NTSC to PAL conversion problems? I know this was a big deal for 8/16bit systems but I don't know if there's significant perfomance differences for the PlayStation.
15 posts and 3 images submitted.
>>
Nope, I have a chipped PS1 that plays NTSC and PAL games just fine.

Only problem is with Wipeout 3 freezing after you go past the starting light thing - I used to have that problem with emulators (fixed with BIOS change), but the actual hardware has it too.
>>
Basically, the most recent it is, the more good PAL conversions you'll find. However, most foreign games had shit PAL conversions up until the Dreamcast came out and forced devs to introduce a 60hz mode in every game.

Most PS1 games still had shit PAL conversions. Have a look at Final Fantasy IX for instance.

Its good but not the best.
How can you consider a game without text where you just destroy things considered the best of a console?

Rare had many profects and i think the other products were selling better.
>>
Doom64, GoldenEye, Conkers Bad Fur Day, Perfect Dark, Even ocarina of time were better

>How can you consider a game without text where you just destroy things considered the best of a console?
You have to safely clear a path to prevent a disaster. The story is unique, original, and good enough.
>Rare had many prefects and i think the other products were selling better.
Selling well doesn't necessarily correlate with how good something is.

How on earth does anyone genuinely enjoy "beat 'em ups?

I always see people talking about how fun games like Turtles in Time, Ninja Baseball Batman, or the Simpsons arcade game are, but I honestly just find them boring.

To me, they really have no redeeming qualities.

They don't really require any skill, other than maybe perseverance. I was playing the Simpsons arcade game recently, and I actually caught myself thinking that I would rather be playing another game, while I was mindlessly mashing the attack button.

so Im playing Shining Force CD and I like it so far.

Most of my guys are starting to hit level 10 so I was wondering if there was any reason not to promote right away.
20 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
Yeah, you'll have stronger initial stats when you're promoted if you wait until level 40.. At least that's what it was like in the first Shining force
>>
What's the optimal level to promote in Shining Force games (assuming you don't grind or anything like that)? Or is it best to do a mixture (e.g. in Fire Emblem you want to promote most of your units ASAP with just a couple trained until the limit)? Is it any different in Shining Force III?

I remember back in the day people would say to promote early in order to handicap yourself, or would say to wait as long as possible to reap the maximum benefit, but I'd like to hear it from someone who actually knows what they're talking about.
