Pretty sure it's common knowledge that NES Rare weren't all that great. They only started to get really good around N64. I really recommend finishing Banjo, I really enjoyed it and 100%'d it.

Rare after the Microsoft buyout wasn't really rare to me. The only Rare-esque games to me is Grabbed by the Ghoulies and after that they were assigned shitty sequels and kinect games.

Not OP but I've been a big fan of SNK for 20 years and always hated that I never had a Neo Geo. I may/may not buy one online but I'm a bit concerned about prices being too high for the console and certain games.

Always love the KOF series and love the 360 port of Garou. I tried emulating years ago and had trouble so there's not much I've played.

Well the developers wanted more time to work on it but Sega of America demanded it be released (in it's half baked form) to compete with early 5th gen consoles. It went to market less than a year after it's conception, what do you expect?

Sega wanted a cheaper 32 bit system for people that couldn't afford a Saturn. They really didn't see any problem with the idea of competing with themselves.

Joke's on you for falling for the RetroArch meme, OP. Stick to actual emulators developed by somewhat functioning autists who can still understand the concept/importance of being user friendly.

For SNES I'd recommend Snes9x (if you can put up with it messing your file extensions by default), bsnes/higan (if you can get past that stupid game folder thing) or SNESGT (no real drawbacks other than "old"). Good luck.
