Can you play Heroes of Might and Magic III over Hamachi?
So, this video has been out for some days out and I've tried searching threads about it in the catalog and the archive and to my surprise, there isn't any thread about this.
The guy who found a prototype of the SNES Playstation add-on took it to Ben Heck's channel for a tear down video. I'm not fond of The Ben Heck Show, but I thought /vr/ might be interested in discussing it.

What are you, some sort of Popadiuk shill like in the pinball threads?
>>3371214
It's interesting, but the dudebro owner literally standing inches away from the guy nervously nodding kinda ruins it.

gotta milk that """"""""""fame"""""""""""
Can you guess the game?

Normality
might not want to pick a GIS-able picture next time. That said, Normality is the only raycaster I know with that kind of setting/visuals. It also shows beautifully what you can do with only vertical and horizontal surfaces, sprites, and a load of creativity
How do I start game chasing in the New England area? What's it like?
buy a flash cart and stop being an autist
>>3371001
nah. Rather have the physical carts and enjoy a good ride. I know eBay is an option but a lot of times their prices are ridiculous.
Drive up to Maine then cross the border and stay there
Remember this crap?
>>3370919
dude, that game was the tits.
They also had an Indiana Jones one.

Why hasn't the midget community complained about this yet?
With the announcement of a NES Classic Edition, it would great if they followed up with a SNES version.
While certain games probably won't happen for it (both Star Fox and Yoshi's Island were never ported to the VC due to issues with the Super FX chip, and Super Mario All-Stars due to Nintendo using the original Mario trilogy to sell the the NES Classic and Nintendo thinking All-Stars was too good for a standard VC release seeing as they re-released as a strandalone ROM dump disc for the Wii, and Tetris Attack having issues with the Tetris copyright to the name of Panel de Pon USA), there is still more than enough games to get to 25-30 game collection from just North American releases.
So what games would you include in such a collection?
Me personally:
1. Super Mario World
2. Super Mario Kart
3. Super Mario RPG
4. Donkey Kong Country
5. Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest
6. Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie's Double Trouble
7. The Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
8. Super Metroid
9. Kirby Super Star
10. Kirby's Dream Land 3
11. Kirby's Dream Course
12. EarthBound
13. F-Zero
14. Super Punch-Out
15. Pilotwings
16. Final Fantasy IV
17. Final Fantasy VI
18. Chrono Trigger
19. Secret of Mana
20. Harvest Moon
21. Lufia II: Rise of the Sinistrals
22. Super Castlevania IV
23. Contra III: Alien Wars
24. The Legend of the Mystical Ninja: Starring Goemon
25. Axelay or Gradius III
26. Mega Man X
27. Street Fighter II Turbo
28. One of the Final Fights
29. Demon's Crest
30. Wario's Woods (I doubt this would happen since it did not even happen for the NES collection and the SNES has never been re-released, but I can still dream).
1. Shaq-Fu
>>3370767
>not playing the superior Genesis version
shiggy diggy etc.
>>3370764
Basically that but replace Wario's Woods with Dragon Quest III
Who did you have in your party the first time you beat the original Final Fantasy?
Who did you have in your most recent playthrough?
>>3370758
Original party was Fighter, Thief, Red Mage, Black Mage (Before 8BT too).
Latest party was two fighters, two red mages, which is actually what I used the very first time I played and got stuck at the Marsh Cave.

Forgot image.

I never bothered beating that shit. Super easy, and no story
What's the best looking game on the NES
For me it's probably Kirbys adventure and Megaman 2-6
Metal Slader Glory
Gargoyle's Quest II almost looks like an SNES game.
Castlevania 3, Kirby's Adventure, and Megaman 5-6 are probably some of the best on the console. The Lone Ranger is pretty good looking too.
So I know this is a wierd question, and I know I'm gonna get mocked here, but how do you really enjoy games?
I've been playing games all my life but now is the time in my life where I have a whole room only for gaming, everything is set up, CRT and all, shelves full of games and all that. Now the only thing is playing the games. But just playing them seems inappropriate with all the hassle creating a whole room dedicated to it.
So what are some tricks I can do to really experience the games I play? Is there a general "thing" I should be paying attention to (like the number of background layers or the like)?
I know I sound really pretentious, but a good comparison would be how you can just drink wine or you can experience it like at a wine tasting.
hipster
For fuck's sake dude. I don't even know how to answer a question like that.
I play "retro" games because these were the games I played growing up as a kid.
For me, it's NOSTALGIA.
I honestly don't know what millennials get from retro gaming. Is it the simplicity? The art? The test of skill?
I have no idea.
>>3370590
>have wine cellar
>drink wine
>have gaming room
>FUCKING GAME
Tardboy.
Should I do it /vr/?
I want to treat myself to something nice and this one can do all sorts of things compared to the cheaper model. I wanna play all the vidya on my Genesis.
What makes it better than the Everdrive MD?
>>3370560
Faster load times, support for bigger roms and probably some other things.
Go for it OP, I got mine when the M-ED first came out and never regretted it.
>>3370572
Well I gave it some thought and there appear to be cost reduced versions coming in August, so I'm just gonna wait. v2 is going to be rebranded as X7 so hopefully it's cheaper and retains all features.

I just found this game from my childhood called "Hexeplore" and I've never seen it posted so I thought you guys may like it.
It's one of the earliest rpg's using the voxel engine, you command up to 4 heroes that you find during the adventure in real time. Each hero can use class specific items to perform their skills and different traits to solve puzzles, for example only the mage can unlock magic things and only the archer can get inside tight corridors, and they can level up I think.
I don't remember much, guess I'll post some pictures and then the ISO if I can find it.

welp the ISO wasn't very hard to find literally first result in google :^)

Hey I had this, bought it from the dollar store and it came with a strategy guide for the first three chapters.
I got pretty far but never finished it, I remember the desert part being excessively boring. I think it had multiplayer too?
I have a pin converter for Famicom to NES, but the game I want to play is too long to push down in the system. It's a Namcot cart. Anyone else ever have this problem or know how to fix it? Thanks.
Here's another pic
Why didnt you just get a toploader?
>>3370664
I've had this nes since I was a kid. Thinking of getting a toploader though.
what are the best retro games based on western cartoons/comics?
Konami's Warner cartoons (Tiny Toon, Animaniacs, etc), Sega and Capcom's Disney games.
If we're including comics, then I guess Sunsoft's Batman games, and Capcom's Marvel games.
>>3370373
For Asterix either the Arcade or PS1 game.
Post your fav indie games here
How many indies came out before 1999 and/or run on pre 1999 hardware?
>>3370061
Doom could be considered indie.
Quite a lot of Doujin games could be considered indie, too

>Yank magazines didn't include Yaroze games
>They never played this masterpiece
What are some good farming spots in Normal and Nightmare?
And why is Baal such a bitch. I don't remember him being this hard with a summoner necro. My skeletons get raped within seconds.
>>3370028
This always bothered me, at least bump it up to 2000 so we can talk about d2 and Arcanum.
normal and nightmare are good for getting irathas. irathas is more of a thing on classic but there is no arguing with irathas sorcs anywhere. trav, chaos, throne obv.
areas in hell that are level 85 are just ordinary in norm and nightmare so they don't matter (pit, crypt/maus, ancient tunnels, kurast mini dungeons, vaught)
if your skeletons are dying you need summon resist, 1 point. I assume you maxed skel warriors and mastery
>>3370021
baal with summoner necro is literally weaker than fallen retard minion
>fuckin decrep
