> Even if i have the money to afford a machine like this, i wont ever have the time and patience to confirgure it to work flawlessly like pic (and video) related.
really, why even live?

that looks pretty amazing
ultimate emulation setup
Today i bought a SNES after years of only playing modern HDMI games.
I plug it in to my HD tv using the yellow, white and red cables it came with and i started it up. i'm sure if it's me or not but it looks really fuzzy and way too pixelated. I plugged in my PS3 (which i haven't used in 2-3 years) with the same YWR cables and it looks like this too.
Is there something wrong with the tv or is this the way it always looked and i'm just too used to 1080p?
Well composite kinda sucks so if it looks like shit that's normal.
>>3373561
turn the sharpness to 0 and turn off any signal processing. If it flickers your tv is interpreting 240p as 480i and you need a line doubler. There is the hd retrovision component cable but I haven't tried one yet so I can't recommend it.
Buy a Framemister and use RGB scart with said adapter.
If you are using a mini, mod it for RGB, it's sharper and never use sync on composite, only composite sync, sync on Luma is good too (mostly for PS1/2 games due to a lack of composite sync pin out).

I am confused. What is the point? I literally can not type out my entire collection before this bred is 404.
Do you think emulators have spoiled us? It's amazing that we have literally 1000s of games to choose from, but because of the huge selection, i find myself being it very hard to find a game to play and stick with it until the very end. It's to the point where i just don't play at all. Does anyone else have this problem?
no, your problem family
Not me, because I don't use 'em.
>>3373361
Pretty much this.
I really only use them for very expensive games.
What is the retro gaming console with less violent games and games for all ages and for all audiences?
one retro console that has more games rated K-A (Kids to Adults) in the ESRB
>>3373306
Probably the gameboy followed by the snes
>>3373309
ok thanks
And that Game Boy recommend?
by the way. I HATE Pokémon!
>this guy again
What the fuck is this mushroom head bullshit, I'm gonna kill myself
oh
This is one of my favorite "troll the player" moments in vidya.
>>3373241
just rotate the controller so the directions are correct again. sell the trippy mushrooms to a little girl
Pic related is SNK's best fighting game.
This is fact.rock howard is a huge faggot though. Gato is superior
Not really. KoF'98 is better for several reasons:
—not having a broken move cancel system
—hopping/A+B/C+D mechanics
—much better balance
—not trying this hard to be like competitors
—actually playable grapplers
—more move types like proximity unblockables etc.
Garou has 1 advantage: amazing graphics. As for the rest, KoF'98 takes the crown in everything.
Played the Dreamcast version. I can say it's very good.
Fatal Fury 2/Special
SUPA NINTENDO
SEGA GENESIS

LET ME TELL YA ABOUT DA PROTOCULTURE
>>3372930
PROTOCULTURE?!
Does Ikaruga deserve all the praise it has gotten over the years?
>>3372564
It deserves neither the shit nor the praise. It's an interesting and decent enough game, but is blown way out of perspective by almost everyone.
I have seen far more hate towards it than love, at least on /vr/.
Generally I think it's considered good, but I always felt the general public accept other series like Gradius or R-type to be more iconic and got a lot more praise over the decades.
>>3372570
How is it, "blown way out of perspective" ?
so /vr/, i am still confused after all those years.
Final Fantasy 1 (in US) = Final Fantasy 1 (in JP)
Final Fantasy 2 (in US) = Final Fantasy 4 (in JP)
Final Fantasy 3 (in US) = Final Fantasy 6 (in JP)
is this correct? was Final Fantasy 5 a JP only title? and which games are Final Fantasy 2 & 3 (in JP)? i am afraid i have to be spoonfed because i remember whenever i try to look into it my brain starts to hurt
>>3372310
You remind everything correct.
FF 2, 3 were made for Famicom
FF5 for SFC.
Now no title is JP-exclusive.
>>3372310
>i am afraid i have to be spoonfed because i remember whenever i try to look into it my brain starts to hurt
You need more help than we can give you. Seek professional medical attention. If this is legit and you somehow slipped through the cracks of the education system (probably America) you are mentally disabled and need real help.
If you're white you can ask a police officer to help as well. Good luck.
>>3372329
I gotta agree with this poster. It's very simple. Before FF7, FF's in the US were numbered in the order they were released there. After FF7, no one uses the old release numbering, and just refers to each game by it's actual title. You actually have to be retarded to not understand this simple concept.
So I popped in some BattleTanx Global Assault last night out of the blue. No reason for that particular game, just felt like it.
Anyway, as I was playing, I was suddenly overcome with a feeling of sadness. Memories of going to friends houses after school, sleepovers, birthdays, just straight up split screen couch gaming.
I cant be the only one who feels this way. I was wondering how you guys deal with the feeling that it will never be like that again? More or less, retro gaming, will just be a solo thing from here on out.. Kinda sucks.
>>3372152
>retro gaming, will just be a solo thing from here on out
Dude, invite a couple friends over for drinking and Goldeneye. Or even just pick a platformer and pass the controller on death. It's great fun and helps you get through some games that might otherwise be boring alone.
>>3372304
My friends hate the graphics of Goldeneye. Basically anything that isn't COD, Fallout 4 or Overwatch. Just kill me.
>>3372328
Idk, I did this just 2 days ago and it's hard to find a group of people who will tolerate n64 games. We played Smash and Goldeneye and some other stuff. The stuff that sits the best is Diddy Kong Racing and the like but unless you have childhood friends about or people who really did this when they were young then you really only have a short distraction before people start popping off to other entertainment sources. There really isn't enough focus to get to the point of learning a game or gaining any percipience. I miss this and every once in a while I can get a game where people are getting into it but it's fairly short lived in the end.
What is best way to emulate legal games and use controller. I am russia sorry for english.
A PC + an USB controller
Wii + Classic Controller (or PS3 controller) if you want that sweet 240p
Anything else also works, but I'd recommend the Wii over the PC if you got one hacked (and even then the Wii is extremely easy to hack)
>>3372104
>to emulate legal games
Эмyлиpoвaть игpы лeгaльнo?
Wii virtual console
Contra, Metal Slug and especially Metroid are the pinnacle of side scroller shooters. Nothing else comes close.
Prove me wrong.
>>3372097
Other than the fact that Metroid is a different genre than the other two games you named, you're mostly right.
>>3372097
Turrican, Alien Soldier, Alien Hominid, Gunstar Heroes, Super Cyborg (not actually /vr/ though)
>>3372097
>Metroid
Metroid series fucking suck as acton games, people only like them because of "muh atmosphere, muh big map"
>my first Genesis game
What's yours?
Sonic 1 and Thunder Force III
If you mean the first I ever played, it was Desert Strike at a friend's house before getting mine. I didn't like it.
Mortal Kombat
Super Monaco GP
