i believe a pot of shitposts waits at every thread's end, oh

so why shouldn't i believe in /vr/?
i believe in MOTHER games
gimmick bosses and no localization
i (don't) believe in promises
given by NoA, oh
i believe in boards forever blue
so why shouldn't i believe the same in (You)?
you may say i'm a shitposter
writing a song in op
you can call me a summerfag
say i should never post again
i believe in good MOTHER threads and that's why i believe in /vr/!
Remember this fake Mother 4 screenshot made by a japanese fan? it's actually also a homage to another game, let's see if anyone here knows which one.
>>3362125
Paperboy?
>>3362149
No.
It's also an RPG, and japan-only.
Trying to find a DOS version of the original AoW so I can configure and play it with DosBox on my Nexus 6p.
The game is from 1999. They stopped releasing for DOS at that point.
>>3362052
Several sites have claimed that it has a DOS version.
But if I can't find it, do you have another approach on how I can play it on android?
>>3362061
Zero. Play wesnoth instead
Is the good price ??
50€ / 55.57$
>>3361995
I got used Dreamcast with a controller and VMU for 50€, so no?

These are just the VMU collector (Black, cherry and marble) who are 50€.
I heard about a filter or plugin for a PSX emulator that fixes the jaggy polygons. Anyone know the name of it?
It's called Retroarch-Beetle and lets you ramp up the internal rendering resolution.
>>3361965
GTE Accuracy hack. Download PCSX-R and the relevant plugins.
Why world you play PS1 without the jaggies? It's one of the best things about it, similar to playing software Quake. Charming as fuck, and texture smoothing like the N64 does looks really bad on emulators.
I got a Philips CD-i but I mistook this output for RF. This is the same as Digital Coaxial right? Does it have to use a special cable?
It is Digital Coax, you can use any plain RCA cable to plug it into a receiver that supports it. Should sound great too.
Says right there
"CD/DA ONLY"
CD/Digital Audio, or Red Book, only.
>>3362023
But it will be Digital instead of Analog? And how can I how do it anyway? It's only 1 port.
Why are KKnD 1 and 2 so often called Red Alert or Starcraft rip-offs?
Red Alert came out on October 31, 1996 (according to wikipedia) and the first playable demo of KKnD 1 was released just one day later. It's not like they made that shit all up in one day.
Starcraft was released in March 1998, while the first (known) playable demo of KKnD 2 is from November 1997. The beta of Starcraft was in January or so of 1998 and another playable demo of KKnD 2 was out in February.
Calling them rip-offs is just stupid.
Back in the day KKnD was called a Command & Conquer (C&C) clone.
No one ever calls KKnD a Red Alert or Starcraft rip-off, ever. KKnD fell to obscurity like every other mediocre C&C clone released in 96/97 and no one cares.
>>3361850
>every other mediocre C&C clone released in 96/97
Almost every RTS game released in that era had it's own unique features. They weren't really any C&C clones.
If anything they should be called Dune II clones anyway since C&C is just a reskin of Dune II with the Atreides renamed into GDI, Harkonnen renamed into NOD and the Ordos cut.
Krush Kill... n Destroy!
Obscure Games Thread, remember when vr found this two obscure games? other obscure games? i have several links on my mediafire folders and im happy to share with you vr bros.

I was a Nintendo kid, and later, a Nintendo/Playstation kid, so I missed out on a lot of games exclusive to Sega consoles. Would anyone mind recommending me some good Sega system only games? From the Master System to the Dreamcast, it doesn't matter. I've already played Sonic 1-3, Sonic Spinball, Boogerman, Castlevania: Bloodlines, and I know a few others, but most was in the mid 90s and I only played a bit. I'll take anything, but some genres I particularly like, in no particular order, are:
- RPGs
- Platformers
- Action
- Adventure
- Horror
- Stealth
But don't feel the need to limit games to just these genres. Also, if there are any great Japanese only games out there, don't leave them out either.
Popful mail
Genesis:
Shining Force IV
Sonic 1 + 2 + 3 are must plays
Contra: Hard Corps
SegaCD:
Snatcher
Sonic CD
Night Trap
If you grew up on Nintendo you'd like Wonderboy in Monster World. It's a better Zelda 2.
Just finished system shock, it was hard
Is it worth it to play Terranova Strike force Centauri? i know it took a lot of time to make but im honestly getting bored
Bioforge was horrible
BTW if you ever have the chance to get it, play the portable version of System shock instead of that remaster on GOG, far more customizable and has some really nice mods and configurations built in, it was available until the GOG version appeared
ill now post Terranova screenshots and stuff so that someone might giddy up and give it a try because even if clunky you can see that there was a lot of love put into making it
Have any of you guys beaten this game? I did recently and i legitimately felt accomplished. Took me about 20 hours...
>>3361536
not even my dad could beat that game.
>>3361536
>Took me about 20 hours...
me too... just to find the way in the lair of the blind ones.
Are Rage Wars and Shadow of Oblivion worth my time?
How the hell do I get my hands on a Famicom and Famicom Disk System (with AC adapter preferably)?
Is eBay my only route? 99% of the consoles are from Japan so shipping is at least $50 every time.
Not much on my Craigslist unfortunately...
>>3361481
Well, you can go in Japan...
>>3361486
but.... my wallet
You can try Japanese Yahoo auctions, but you'd have to use a third party to buy it then ship it outside Japan which may end up costing a bit.
Whats the best way to experience pic related nowadays?
I have ps1,ps2 and ps3.
ps1 versions are the most expensive considering i can get the Japanese ps3 version with 3 games on it for the same price.
what should i do? should i just import the ps3 one?
Have you considered buying a CP System 2?
>>3361313
Groovymame + crt
PS1 versions definitely not, the port of Darkstalkers 1 wasn't even handled by Capcom and is severely choppy.
My favorite way to play Darkstalkers 3 is on Saturn, the game is arcade perfect as far as I can tell outside of some sound differences, and it includes the Hunter characters (donovan, pyron, huitzl).
I haven't tried the ps3 collection but I think that might be your best bet. Or try to get the PS2 version with the special Saturn controller, but I remember reading that one has some input lag issues, not sure if that's true.
Anyone ever get really burnout out on games, I guess tired gamer syndrome? A few years back I got so fed up with the garbage being put out by the modern industry and realized the only stuff I enjoyed was all the retro stuff from earlier gens. Far more creativity and fun to be had than just constant "cinematic experiences".
I'm curious though, has anyone had that same fatigued feeling with retro games? Every once in awhile I'd have trouble finding anything appealing to play, even old favorites were unappealing. I discovered though that no matter how many times I played through it, something about Wild Arms 1 and 2 always got me excited for playing games again. I see a lot of dislike or indifference to these games, but something about them washes away any gaming fatigue I'm feeling.
Anyway, anyone else experience this, what games do you find you can always go back to, no matter what kind of mood you might be in?
>A few years back I got so fed up with the garbage being put out by the modern industry and realized the only stuff I enjoyed was all the retro stuff from earlier gens.
I just became pessimistic, racist to an extent, and shut in when it comes to video games. I find the only way to enjoy modern games is to find fun in shitting on them and griefing the player base.
The best part is the modern video game devs only reinforce my opinion and beliefs of modern games as time goes by. If it's not some movie game like Uncharted being released it's some hugbox feature like the new Blizzard silence system. There's always something coming out or on the horizon for me to be anxious about how bad it's going to be. And it's always bad.
>>3361305
Racist over video games? And what is this 'silence' system? If enough people complain about you then you can't mic chat?
>>3361345
>Racist over video games?
Not so much racist as "xenophobic". Russians and south america have invaded a lot of online games.
>And what is this 'silence' system?
You get reported and then get a 24 ban from the chats in games. Every offense after doubles infinitely. Blizz says it goes to a review before dishing out the silence but I doubt it's true.
So people like me will just be reporting any retard just because Blizz has enabled me a new tool to troll with.

If 3DS had filter using camera to check light level so when it's lighter, less it's seen, the couldn't emulate GBC.
