Are there any good new NES-compatible controllers that are not just copies of the original NES-controllers?
I bought a couple of pic related, and they at first felt really good and I like how they're based on the rounder Famicom frame and has a round D-pad which makes steering in some games easier, but after a while, when you press down and left at the same time, either select or start activates. I've tried to open one and look into it, but I can see anything in there that could have caused it besides the globtop chip, which I can't look into.
Here's the insides of one of the controllers.
Try playing without the rubber thing for the start and select buttons.
You could build your own pretty easily. The brain is just a shift register with a clock and a latch.
Fuck. I just got my everdrive 64 and got bored in a single day. I am getting old and maturing from being a manchild or what?
I remembered that I could stay 8 hours straight playing nintendo.
Maybe you've already played the good games on it

I played wcw/nwo revenge but it is boring alone.
Also played president evil 2, goldeneye and papuh mario.

Then get friends to play! N64 is great for multiplayer
What is your favorite, classic animal game? I liked Odell down under and gungian frontier.
Creatures
The original Petz series.

A few weeks ago I heard something about the new PeteOpenGL2Tweak plugin for PS1 Emulation that will reduce polygon shake.
Can someone explain this and where to get it?
The fucking sticky, why don't you people ever check this shit?

>Want to setup multiple installations of PCSXR
>One per game so settings are separate from each other
>Pete's plugin uses the windows registry to save settings
>where to get it?
Also, this is a very google-able question.

The thing only works for a handful of games at the moment anyway.
What are some must-have SNES games that have NOT been re-released digitally or otherwise received good remakes?
I'm looking for games where I need to go hunt down a cartridge, so I can get some actual use out of my Retro Duo.

Lufia 1 and Lufia 2.

But the mobile version is a straight upgrade
If I'm going to emulate Genesis/Mega Drive games on my PC, should I have a Genesis/Mega Drive controller like pic related, or is my 360 controller pretty much good enough?
What about other old consoles? Which controllers are best for emulating which systems?
>>3375526
Don't buy aftermarket controllers they're just a quick cash grab. Either get some sort of converter you can use on an original controller or buy a some modern console controller with a nonshit dpad.
Any modern console controller will work just fine, and you don't have to find shitty firmware for aftermarket controllers. If you really hate joysticks then you can look into getting a modern fight pad or something. There's a few decent manufactures for them, but the prices of those are the same as first party controllers.
try to find a saturn controller. They're pretty much the pinnacle of sega controllers. They made some official USB ones which are really good, but they're probably a bit hard to come by now. Any regular one with a usb adapter should be fine though.
what you all playing tonight

Why is the menu so off-centered?

The darkside of CRT monitors when you change resolutions. Gotta fuck with hor and ver positions.
Let's talk about fighting games in the 90's, and why they were as great as they were.
Reminder that if you play the CPU you're the cancer that's killing the genre.
I had this saved from last thread.
I'm a street fighter 2 turbo man, myself

Does anyone know how to install the program Moonlight on a Raspberry Pi 3 running RetroPi plus Raspian?
It should be simple and yet I cannot find any good guides out there.
>>3375114
Try stackexchange, reddit, or the raspberry pi forum. Not many people have pi's here. They're looked down upon because they're trendy.
Treasure troves of the 90s. Is there a place where you can search their contents?
The internet

Where? I mean, I don't want to dl every shitty CD from archive.org when I want to find stuff
I'm trying to remember the name of a PC game with live action actors in a futuristic pre-rendered 3d world. You were supposed to climb the corporate ladder with the game starting with your initial job interview at the company of your choice.
You would spend most of the game in your office answering and making video phone calls, but you could also do goofy stuff like hit on your boss. IIRC, getting fired was a game over and lead to cutscene of you getting thrown out the window and falling to your death. I also remember there being an AI therapist you could call to reduce your character's stress levels.
I think I got of for $10 at Radio Shack in the 90s or early 200s

Bumpin' outta interest.

I found it. The game is called "Virtual Corporation". I think my 10 year old brain saw "sex" written on the back and got excited, but gave up when I couldn't get any of the girls to meet me after work.
What are some good retro dungeon crawling adventure games? Howabout with a party system? I'm wondering how much there is of good old fashioned D&D styled goodness.
The gold box games are pretty classic bruv

>I'm wondering how much there is of good old fashioned D&D styled goodness.
Look on GOG for a list of pretty solid dungeon crawlers. Legend of Grimrock is good too.
depends on the edition
i'm not a fan of the earlier games, because some of them are just too fucking hard, like the first Baldur's Gate where that wizard just rapes you in your first fight
a lot of the 3e games are pretty good, though
is N64 emulation really that bad?
>>3374404
No, I played and finished the zelda games and Conker aeons ago on an emulator and I had zero problems with them. It's just a meme like that "snes is more powerful than the genesis" bullshit people like to repeat around here.
Aside from the staples (Mario 64, Zeldas, Mario Kart, DK/Goldeneye/other Rare stuff), yes.

I can't find it, but there was this Sims as with this gorgeous redhead on the beach and the punchline was something like "Getting her into a hot tub? Much harder."
That one, because hot redhead. Can't find it though.
Anyone up for exploring this old mmo?
Thought you guys might be interested, since as of only a couple of weeks ago you can try it with no subscription restrictions for a time. We're usually something of a walled garden.
Nexus:TK has been going since 1997, and still features a devoted community and developer updates to this day. It's a great contrast to the modern themepark mmos, as Nexus is centred around community interaction.
It's a wonderful little world to explore, and one of the rare bastions of real mmo roleplaying left. I'm the current head of a clan that's existed from the very start, so I can promise newcomers plenty of resources and friendly faces.
Had a graphical upgrade here and there, of course. Here's a woefully compressed artifact of what it was like some fifteen years ago.
I used to play this, way back in like 2000. I was a poet. I was pretty casual though, so I never made it to level 99. This was back when people actually played MMORPG's for the roleplaying, not to powergame.
