and finally opinions on using a pedal like this until i can save up for cycle shoes with clipless pedal sets

There is no sticky, but there is the /bqg/ bike question general, a thread that is always up and you can write any question there.

Buy pedals at the end, because clipless pedals are good, but are pretty overrated because many people think they are faster with them, but no, they are only useful for foot retention at really high cadence.

Which mode of transport is best mode of transport?

Probably the most efficient transport are trains, or blimptrains if there are no tunnels.

Intermodal railcar without engine seems a pretty cool guy.

Hello /n/ I was wondering if this was a good deal. I found this Nishiki bike on craiglist for 175.

New Balance.

Depends what you mean by hiking though. For some people that means gravel trails. For others it means walking in the woods climbing rocks and shit.

I hate this stupid piece of shit. Jammed constantly throughout its life. Finally completely jammed with the last disk stuck out of alignment yesterday. I flooded it with WD40 and have been trying to wiggle the last disk back into alignment but it won't fucking go. Tired a small screw driver and that bastard is stuck fast. Key even when aligned won't fully go in to turn it either, it just scrapes against the edge.

Is there a lock that doesn't cost $125 like the Albus granite X plus that has a mechanism to keep the disks aligned?

seconded, I want the u-part coated in rubber or something so it doesn't scratch the shit out of my paint.

this, i have no idea why the fuck they don't do that already

that said, a roll of duct tape and a styrofoam pool noodle works bretty gud
>>
>>1011731

I'm going to guess you got one with the pointy key.

You gotta make sure the key is aligned in the center of the hole, not to one side.

Also there was a recall on those locks with a pointy key.

I've been looking at the Yunbike C1 and Xiaomi Qicycle and really dig the styling of both. But does anybody have any actual info on either?
8 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
if you must go with the xiaomi bike, as so far everything they have released or been associated with has been pretty good.
>>
>>1011469
that's what I'm thinking. And compared to other folding electrics (btwin) the styling is pretty decent
>>
>>1011472
after looking at a xiaomi site, i didn't know that they are both xiaomi, so it'd come down to if you need a folding bike or not, and it have a bit of peace of mind as at least they say which brand 18650's they are using,

I just broke this lock open with my fucking hands. And I'm 150 pounds ottermode.
>5 digit combination chain lock in an ALUMINIUM casing
>sleeve that I could cut with leatherman scissors
I didn't steal a bike, I found the lock with a snapped chain on the ground in a park. If the thief had known how much easier he could have had it...

e/n/tertainment thread I guess

Chain was pinned.

A proper lock wouldn't do that.

Combination locks are garbage anyway, if you have good ears and you're not wearing gloves you can open it up without destroying it
>>
>>1011393
Maybe the idea is that if a bike simply LOOKS to be securely locked, 90% of thieves will leave it alone.
>I'm not saying it's a great idea -- I'm just saying
>>
Theres a video of a bike sting operation where a nice yank using the bars and saddle would break cheap locks with minimal damage to the bike.

Try it, no tools required

Any tandem riders out there? I'm thinking of getting one and attaching a skeleton to the back seat and am just wanting to hear your thoughts.

>Is this a common form of transportation for anyone?
For children and hobo manchildren.

It's the stupidest form of transportation. If you want to go to a skatepark or do tricks fine, but otherwise it's retarded.
>>
>>1011145
>skateboarding
>transportation
it sucks for that purpose. it´s okay if you just want to skate down the block and back but is not useful for actual traveling/ commuting because you´d have to be pretty good at it to not crash. also, skate to work? you´ll look like a manchild nobody at your workplace will take you serious
>>
A guy at my old job used to long board to work. He also had a neck beard, bragged about being a functional alcoholic, and didn't have a car because he got into an accident while intoxicated.

He was also always really sweaty when he got to work. It was fucking disgusting.

No judgement if you do it for fun, but for transportation, I don't think it's a good idea.

hey /n/
i just traded a keyboard for a skateboard with risers and lomgboard wheels
could i use this as a daily transportation to school?

No you can't.
>>
Yes, but only once. Because when you arrive the cool kids will beat the shit out of you for being such a fucking loser, and then even the uncool kids will start whaling on you, sensing in your predicament an opportunity to even temporarily elevate themselves from the lowest rung of the ladder. And so you'll die, under a hail of pasty, underdeveloped fists, surrounded by the gurning faces of nerds and dweebs taking possibly their life's only chance to victimise someone below them in the social pecking order: The Longboard Commuter.
