We had a thread subway/metro stations a while back, so how about train stations?

Gare Centrale looks depressing and uninviting. Which is probably à propos, given VIA's Amtrack-level of service.

Why do we have this backwards? Are we stupid?
Carbon frame saves weight and is comfy.
Steel fork prevents sudden-carbon-fork-death
Instead we do alumnium frame + carbon fork for maximum danger and death and discomfort
When will the cycling world WAKE UP
Weeks on my ride,bitchhhh
OP SHOULD WAKE UP INSTEAD

I ride a bicycle and a Motorcycle.
Be a fuckin man and get a real bike, mopeds are for fags from england or gooks from vietnam. No one respects mopeds. Theyre seen as toys. Get a Kawasaki.

For some reason, I can't seem to take that advice, even knowing how much being a pilot sucks at first. 30 flight hours into my Private Pilot training and I still haven't turned back like any sane person would.
Anyone else here /masochist/?
Don't work in aviation or the railroad.
There's a reason nearly everyone is an alcoholic.
Pretty much everyone i have asked about working in field *xy* told me to never work in field *xy*.
Working is death.
Being above 30 is death.

FUCK
I can't ride a bike, never learned and can't learn now.
I may have made a mistake, and bought a Daymak Vienna EBike. Been trying to learn to ride it for a week, just keep loosing my balance, nearly fell a few times. I can't do it, too old now and have horrible balance. (Doesn't help that this town is all hills and potholes, and I have no flat surface to practice on.)
Anyhow, all I can think is maybe find a way to strap training wheels to it? Like the training wheels they sell for kids dirt bikes?
Any advice? I never posted here before, and assume there's just going to be a resounding chorus of "just learn to ride it, it's not hard." Which I will ignore.
>>1003511
Just learn to ride you pussy. Even children can do it
knees together, eyes ahead and just go fast you fagget
what horrible parents one must have to miss out on learning how to ride a bike

Does /n/ have preferred gel brands/flavours?
I just bought a bunch of GU ones, mostly the chocolate/coffee flavours.
Got a new bike and I'm trying to dial in the fit.
I'm getting a dull ache in my thumbs/palms when I ride on the hoods, this is my first time using drop bars. Does that indicate that there is too much reach to the drops and I'm putting too much weight on my hands as a result? Or am I just adjusting to a new handlebar position?

Is your saddle level to the ground?
>>1003115
Yeah seems level, should I try tilting it back a bit?
Post your best biking experiences. Maybe you smashed out a century you'd been planning for months, or hit a jump that'd be scaring you, or whatever else.

Can't really get more profound than that homies.
I don't ride for leisure at the moment really only a commuter, looking to change that.
I do have a place I go to that is about a 54km round trip where I usually listen to a podcast, I used to love listening to The Biggest Problem which is a comedy show.
When I ride my morning commute I love to listen to news/current affairs.
The two weeks I rode on Majorca earlier this summer. First time I had accumulated vacation days, could take time off and had enough money to actually travel somewhere all on my own. Got a cheap room off Airbnb for two weeks, flights, and rented a nice bike for myself. Ended up riding 1250 km with 23 km of climbing during the two weeks with a few rest days.
I didn't know how much I needed a proper vacation before I landed in Palma and got myself on a bike.
>tfw you come back to work having lost 5 kg when others are complaining about the weight they gained.
My best biking experience was when I witnessed a friend of mine fall asleep on a bicycle while riding downhill, crashing into a guardrail, cartwheeling over it and sliding down the hill.

Thinking about getting into riding motorcycles any experienced riders have tips for me?
Also thinking of learning on a 2010 Kawasaki ninja
Not being a dick, but >>>/o/ has a daily motorcycle thread, and is a much faster board.
You'll get a better response if you post there.
>>1000440
1. Can you accept the FACT that every single day, someone on the roads may actively try to kill you? If the answer is "no", then you're not tempermentally suited to riding a motorcycle.
2. Motorcycle recycling yards are FULL of bikes like Ninjas that new riders bought, rode for a while, then got KILLED on, because it was WAY TOO MUCH BIKE for a newbie to handle. Don't be that guy. Get a 250cc twin putt-putt bike to start with. If after a year you're still down with it and have been riding regularly, can handle the freeways without vapor-locking your anus, THEN consider a bigger bike. Otherwise you're roadkill, sooner or later. Not even kidding you.
Good luck, OP.
Buy an old motorcycle, like before 75. Old cars are very easy to work on, and you learn a lot. You save money on mechanics, but you spend more on parts than most. It's worth it by a long shot
>lock thread general

everyone should just have 2 bikes. One that's nice and looks good that you pour money into and one that's cheap and just works. Then you won't cry when you get nigged. No matter what lock you choose you can't stop a committed thief.
One time in Brooklyn I literally saw a homeless-lookin' black dude jacking off onto a bike.
Why? He obviously wasn't going to steal the thing after he finished nutting on it. To this day the lack of any possible motivation haunts me.
>>998049
>everyone should just have 2 bikes. One that's nice and looks good that you pour money into and one that's cheap and just works.
I agree with you in principle, but when do you use your non-shit bike as opposed to your bait bike?
My locking strategy, gleen from what I've read from various sources:
>have $50 mini-U lock, $20 cable and $20-30 cable lock.
>if the bike rack is good, I put the mini-U lock through the back triangle and wheel, or just the wheel inside the triangle if that's not feasible.
>sometime the bike rack is shit, so sometime I have to lock it through rear wheel outside the triangle.
>use the cable to wrap around a frame tube and the front wheel; connect it to the mini-U lock.
>use the cable lock to wrap around a frame tube and the front wheel. If I can mange it, I will lock to the rack, if possible.
I can do this call within 5-10 minutes, which I find reasonable.
>Then you won't cry when you get nigged. No matter what lock you choose you can't stop a committed thief.
True, but they can work well as deterrence, which is worthwhile to pursue even if it's not 100% foolproof.
do you see this shit? do you see it motherfucker?
now why the fuck dont you own it yet?
2017 specialized expert for expert cyclists only. sorry freds STAY OUT
you see that sweet tiny rear triangle bitch? keeps the bike stiffer and sweeter than any boner on the planet. butt sore after riding? think again motherfucker vertical compliance like never seen. got a tampon box right above the cranks for all you pussies who dont own this bike yet. when are you prissy cyclists gunna wake up and exert your dominance by purposely riding on shitty painful cobbles? for the real sufferers, this baby has a built in future SHOCK technology. what does that mean? means your entire bodys gunna be bouncing up and down like your mom last night. only the truest and toughest cyclists get to ride this steed. the most exclusive ride on the planet. wanna change wheels? guess again cunt, scs wheels only. real men dont change wheels. become the envy of your cycling group with the all new headtube spring that wil be out of manufacturing in a year when no one wants it. if that doesnt scream exclusivity, nothing does. electric shifting you cunt. when youre climbing at 40rpms like a pussy, you can throw it on the big ring under load like a real cyclist and finish on a proper 25 cadence.
Black bikes are ugly. What do I look like; some DUI having retard riding a BMX to where I buy cigarettes?
>own it yet
Because my current bike hasn't broken yet, why would I buy a new one?
Meme's aside, that is a sweet looking bike, desu

That bike looks about a size too small and the stem about 20-30cm too short. Try getting a longer stem.
Otherwise saddle position looks fine.
Also your bars are tilted down
