Is there a good reason for getting a ht am bike in the end of the year 2016?
What is the ideal use for them anyway?
What does AM mean?

All mountain
Getting an AM HT is never a bad idea.
I rode a dartmoor hornet for 3 years.
Snappy, confident, hard as fuck.
How many of you guys bike but DON'T take it really seriously?
Like, those of you who commute or ride on the weekends but don't have the lycra biking clothes or the clip-on shoes and pedals, don't stand up like a faggot to pump up hills, don't know a ton about bike repair, using apps to track your progress, etc.
My bros who bike in a t shirt and shorts, wear a backpack, wear sneakers and shit like that all welcome
Personally I only cycle for leisure and commuting purposes.
I like /n/ but occasionally I'd like it to be more, say, "down-to-earth", for the lack of a better word. Sometimes /n/ is too much of a tryhard instead of a regular guy with his baiku.
>backpack
I use panniers for grocery shopping these days. Never looked back. Backpacks are okay in winter but my God all that sweat on your back in summer is insufferable.

>don't stand up like a faggot to pump up hills
I used to stand up until I notice I got a better performance sitting riding up hills.

That's me. I just like biking, even today wearing jeans. Thing is you can still bike distance without looking like a complete lycra wannabe pro. I did 30 miles the other day wearing cargo shorts.

The Bonanza has been in continuous production for 70 years, longer than any other aircraft in history.
Let's have a celebratory thread.

Getting ready for CX, lads?
flat bar race bike
How fast does a road race go? How many km/h average over a distance of 100 km?
>>996028
depends on the category, race course and conditions. 4/5 will be anywhere from 20-23 mph, 1/2/3 anywhere from 22-25.
There's no standard. Typically, very fast. Over 20 mph for all cats (men at least). (32/33+ km/h)
Yeah how about nah. I dont think an /o/ - /n/ merger is going to work. We hate each other and thats how it should stay.

Sup, /n/? Put a cage in my cage so I can cage while I cage- Thoughts? What have you done lately?
you know I can respect a passionate cager
whom I don't respect is a sunday driver cager

I appreciate that and I can dig it, certain respect to be had for a person with genuine passion for what they do. Though I don't have much beef with sunday driver types myself.

He's trolling you. It's just a bottom bracket located brake and a copy of the THM fork with the integrated brake in the fork legs.

I'm looking to upgrade my bike's group set, but I am new to building and don't know how different brands compare to each other. Are there any general tier lists or resources I could use?
pic semi-related, I have a FCR 2 frame with a bunch of mix-matched parts that I've bought off the internet or replaced over the years since I've had the bike. I'm currently looking at a shimano Ultegra groupset
>>1013022
If you're buying new parts rather than used, Ultegra is overkill on that bike. 105 works just as well and costs like a third as much.
Start with the number of speeds you have on the rear. You're not going to change that unless you replace more shit than your bike is worth.
And ultegra and even 105 are overkill, as you're not racing.
>>1013025
I'll look into that, I read that 105 is very popular.

looking for a phone mount for my bars.
preferably stem mounted because i don't have very wide bars
what have you used in the past or using now??
I bought one like that and mounted it at the top of my stem and bent it so it sat above the handlebars. Like 10 bucks on amazon.
I can post a picture when I get home and hopefully you'll see what I mean if you don't get it.

Has anybody done a double century? (200 miles / 322 km)
I am wondering if an aggressive road bike w/28c or a comfy touring bike with 35c would be better for such a long ride
I want to do one but I am slow. I have done a century and want to work up to a double. Maybe I'll just do a really slow one that takes 20 hours
I've gone that far on 300 km brevets since I ride to and from the start / finish point. I've used both my touring and road bike and had no problem on either. But my road bike is a Giant Defy, which is not at all aggressive.
Are you planning on doing it solo or with a group? My personal best solo ride is around 230 km. If you want to do long rides look at joining a randonneur club. The club I'm with is small and we usually ride as a group, so there are opportunities to draft and take it easy for a while.
Whichever bike you choose make sure it has GOOD tires and it fits you like a glove, your body will thank you
Longest I've ridden has been like 200km and I was aching all over for the next couple of days
I did one on a caad10 with 25mm tyres
Pretty aggressive geo but was riding with a fast bunch so it was appreciated.
The one thing I can recommend is ensuring you have a wide range of gears, preferably a compact crank and 28 or more teeth on the cassette. I rode standard to 28 and it was horrible, grinding up/putting in extra watts up climbs fatigues you too much for that sort of distance and you will bonk early.
Should I bike everyday or should I rest if I'm sore?
Are you sore because you raced and gave everything you had, or are you sored because you are a weakling?. I'm assuming is the second part, so harden the fuck up and ride until you can get a legit rest.

You don't know me.
