First they built the train tracks
Now they build the bikes
Why

Cheap labour
/Thread
There was some show about old railroads and they were reading excerpts of letters from guys who worked around the chink railroad guys and he said they would be pulling this giant wheel to crush rocks and flatten shit and every week some chink would trip and fall and get pancaked by the giant wheel and all the chinks would laugh when this happened
>>1011063
Now they laugh when your chinarello dogshit snaps on a descent. J/k I ride chinese carbon and like it.
Im looking to by a new bicycle and I came across this. Anybody kniw how much is this brand and model of bikes is worth? More Pics in posts
Would be a fine deal.. unless it's a child sized bike.. unless you're a child.
I crashed and shredded all the skin on my calf. It really hurts.
>>1016813
Post pics. Also how did you fall, I bet it was something stupid.
A thread died for this.
So far my two minor crashes resulting in road rash have involved a small patch of skin on the outside of my knee and a bit of shoulder bruising. I tend to be fairly conservative in my cornering so my crashes aren't too spectacular.
Hey /n/
Does anyone have experience with bike clothing from Marcello Bergamo?
I have been given the opportunity to buy a complete set for around 90$ tailormade to my exact measurements.
So im wondering if anyone has some of their products? the set im getting is the "Sportivo" series.
Get an /n/ jersey.

there is so much autism in that picture
>>1016567
Better?
Damn, the first time my bike got stolen. It was a shitty one like pic related but still. That feel knowing you will never see your bike again. I didn't even get to say goodbye.
>>1016174
I hate those kind of bikes, the steering feels like riding a wet sponge. Get a proper dutch tank with a nice 7speed gearhub.
>>1016174
just move into a white neighbourhood
>>1016180
this.
op where the fuck do you live that someone steals a shitty bike, detroit?
Post your delays
Easy mode: weekend bullshit
Hard mode: weekdays where it wasn't a signal problem, a smoke condition, or a suicide
Experts only: a cat
Another week or two and scotrail will start the "leaves on the lines" shite again
>leaves on the tracks
>wet tracks
>sleet on tracks
>snowy tracks
>icy tracks
>icy switches
>iced out trains
>trains just refuse to operate for some unknown reason, who the fuck buys Italian trains?
>herd of reindeer on tracks
>moose on tracks
We're currently on the leaves phase, thank god I don't have to regularly use trains.
>>1016152
When you've experienced a train sliding on what was leaves and unable to stop, perhaps you'll understand why the railways spend millions and try to avoid killing multiple trains worth of passengers. Or you can sit there and continue to mock something you clearly don't want to understand.
Apparently, bike commuting everyday for a year has caused me to have hips that are out of alignment.
Anyone know of any bike adjustments that can be made to help this?
Ride your bike sideways
>>1016120
Anterior pelvic tilt or posterior pelvic tilt? I need you to be as detailed as possible describing your pain/discomfort and the position that you're in that triggers it.

>asking for medical advice on a Mongolian mare's milk fermenters forum
FFS go see a doctor, or a chiropractor, or a physical therapist, or at least someone who does professional bike fitting. You really expect a serious, credible answers from faggots on 4chan?
why is /n/ in Japanese culture on the front board?
>>1015625
trains
Because bicycles were invented in Japan. Duh.
>>1015625
Because Shimano is a Japanese brand.
In the flats I live at there are a few abandoned bikes locked up outside, a couple of them look quite good if they were given a bit of TLC, but mostly BSO's. I think they are attracting bike thieves and instead could be fixed and left in place unlocked for anybody to use as needed.
Anyone know the legalities of removing them?
>>1014893
what country are you in, dickhead?
>>1014894
I'm in the UK bitch.
>>1014893
I also wonder what the legalities are.
There was a nice abandonned 90's rigid mtb on my home-work path, the wheels were missing and the saddle too but appart from that it was in good condition. The lock was weak so i thought i could pick it up, buy to used wheels and have a nice beater. I waited too long and now the fork/bars are gone too... I don't know who would scavenge a fork on an abandonned bicycle but well... Now no one will ever touch that frame for 2 years untill the city decide to take of the frame...
Anyway i guess the best is still to ask directly to your town police or municipality. I guess that that kind of laws are very local. If your town is bicycle friendly to the point there is a non negligible amount of abandonned bike they certainly have a department that take care of those bikes. My guess is that it'll be illegal to take away/scavenge these bikes, even obviously abandonned, but never really enforced.
How does this make you feel /n/?
>>1014691
That graph is retarded. Not only is it based on completely arbitrary numbers for "efficiency", but it's also blatantly biased. The Boeing 727 was effectively retired in the early 2000's and is nowhere near as efficient as current commercial aircraft
>>1014691
I can't believe how much trains suck desu
I thought they were environmentalists wet dreams
But that efficiency is at the cost of calories. You'd be fat riding bikes if it were to be highly efficient.
Hi /n/! newfag here who literally knows nothing about cycle despite living in cycle friendly city(Antwerp,Belgium to be precise). I need new bicycle just to roam around the city,to hang out with friend and so on so my question is what type of cycle would you recommend and what brand? Thanks in advance..

If you just want to have fun, and sometime commute, you should have:
>Helmet
>Hand pump, spare tire/tube, repair kit
>1x Bottle holder
It's comfy tier:
>Jersey (priority to the top)
>Running shoes (yeah)
>Backpack (if commuting)
>sunglasses
>Cage
Don't fall for the meme:
>CO2 pump
>clipless
>Fixie / singlespeed
>Moutainbike
>Chinese brand
>Disc brake/Soft rim brake (they don't last when it's rainy)
If it's not there then it's a no-no. Look for whatever used road bike / vtc, will do the job. Cannodale and Scott are trusty brands in the lower-tier prices.
>>1013498
Go to your local cycle shop and try a few, and go with what you like. Get a basic repair kit and a spare tube and pump, and a water bottle holder like this guy says >>1013508. Avoid chink anything, and if you like mountain bikes then get one. Cannondale and Scott are good, but there are others if you keep your eyes peeled and read around a bit.
>>1013498
If you are young and want to get drunk and have fun, I'd get something FAST with drop bars and thinner tires
If you are more of a chilled-out stoner dude who just wants to take it easy, get something with fat tires and fenders
How can you tell what year a bike was made?
I have a line on a delta v but they dont know what year it is. As far as I know it has to be a 92 or a 93 to be worth anything.
Its a cheap deal but its also not the classic white color. Were other colors made those years?
If its been repainted is it still worth anything?
Pic very related.
look at the code under the bottom bracket. Heres an example, YF 11 74329 - manufacturer Focus, Year 2011, production number 74329

are british trains the most advanced in the world?
No.
>>1012849
Agree. No.
>>1012843
Define train.
Been contemplating getting a new bike, old one feels a bit small and unsatisfying. Can anyone recommend a good bike for less than $1K? I'd prefer a bike good on any surface. btw young unemployed studentfag, Western Aus.
>>1012767
No bike is good on ANY surface.
Some would recommend you a CX/gravel/touring type bike for a general purpose "do all" bike. But can you ride drop bars?
Take a look at Merida.
>>1012767
Don't get a new bike. New bikes are a meme.
Get a used one.
>when a cager honks at you as he goes by and you later catch up at the light
>>1012336
>When a cager taps you with his murdercage because you aren't going 'fast enough'
>100ft from a stoplight .
Cagers, cyclists and pedestrians all do dumb, annoying shit all the time. Can't we all just get along?
>"cyclists" on the top
>"cagers" on the bottom
