I don't get it. I can adjust the wheelbase by sliding the front roller forward and backwards, but that also changes the belt tension. I need to move the front roller forward, that will make the belt tension tighter. There's no way to adjust these independently? Should I worry about it being too tight (from being too far forward)? Or too loose?
No manual to fucking read, got them used. Kreitler with the full aluminum rollers for $70.
There's like 3-4 settings you can easily find out which position to put it in because you will be unable to ride if it isn't in the right setting.
>>1002059
So the difference between the longest and shortest settings shows the difference between the most and least belt tension - right? They're totally dependent upon each other?
when winter comes around, should i get rollers or trainers
What's your favorite scenorio of riding? Is it in a race, on the track, cruising with a friend or having a nice long ride by yourself? Curious with with one you all choose. Also in a training situation which scenario would you prefer?
Alone, country roads, scorching sun
>>1002004
I'm right with ya bud.
>>1002004
Agree. This is my homeland (inner spain), is pretty hot in summer (30ºc-38ºc), I like riding alone along the wheat fields and bulls/cows listening to the cricket/insect sounds. My sister thinks that our land is ugly and dry, of course she said that because she was brainwashed by her friends, the fact is that the country can be beautiful, last month I ride on a day with the bluest sky possible and the fields were golden as fuck, it was really nice riding that amazing rollercoaster of small hills, too bad the road was Syria tier during several km, I will avoid that part in the future. Mountains are kinda far from here, but this year I will finally get my cager license which probably I will use it just for carrying my bike to nice sites.
For training purposes I think the better option is a mixed terrain, or flat with mountains, or pretty hilly to do intervals.
Where do I decide on which STI/Ergo shifters is best for my cannondale R500's (1998)? Shimano or Campagnolo? Maybe someone knows a good resource?
>>1001867
The one you can afford, microshit
>>1001867
Shimano, Campy, Sram, Microshift - no matter which you pick they all do the same thing with slightly different ergonomics, there's right or wrong answers, just personal preferences.

Every year around new year I consider registering, then I remember that these fucks don't allow aero brake levers. Maybe if I ever build a bike with non-aero levers.
Would it be possible to ride around a city with this?
Practical, efficient, fun, or not horribly slow? No.
But as long as it rolls, it's certainly possible.
>>1000897
There's an actual offence for that in Australia.
Road vehicles with bladed attachments are illegal in some way.
>>1000986
A legacy of The Road Warrior movie, i assume.
What bike lights do you guys use? I'm looking for a front and back light. Budget: 70 Canadian/55 USD
I'm liking the Planet Bike Blaze 500 XLR.
I fell for the magic shine meme, after two rides the battery was toast, got a replacement battery and charger, and after three rides it was toast as well.

Got a bike wheel on my left shoulder.
My first and raddest tattoo.
Can't take a good self photo with the angle.
>>1000279
Also; meant to add that yours is pretty sweet, OP.
Would you considering getting a professional one? Always thought the Campy wings would make a good tatt.
I got one of an AR-15/M-16 bolt face on my calf years ago, and now everybody thinks it's a sprocket.
It's kind of nice that it's subtle enough to not be recognized easily, but also sad because most of the people I ride with are military.
>tfw almost 28 and want to get into cycling but don't know anything about it
i'm too old for this aren't I
I feel like I'd never be able to get really fit or be able to go long distances/fast compared to the average poster here
You probably won't be winning the TDF, but you're at about the age when most people get into cycling seriously (aka have disposable incomes)
>the average poster here
The only thing average here is "if you don't do it my way you are wrong and stupid", but that's pretty much 4chan as a whole. We get non-cyclists, we get faggot casuals who ride on weekends only, we get people whose idea of "commuting" is rolling 300 yards on a BSO and then locking up their BSO outside to rust, and then, occasionally, we get real cyclists who ride actual bikes that don't suck, every day.
>going fast
Bicycles just don't go that fast, if you want to go fast get a motorbike. In fact, being one of those stravasshole freds will make you universally despised by every other normal cyclist, along with every other person alive.
Distance is a different thing, ride regularly and you'll be cool. Also this:

So HTFU pussy.
>i'm too old for this aren't I
Hells no! Just go out and ride your bike.

Is it true that Europeans can't afford cars and there are adults people who ride their bikes everywhere?
Here in America everyone drives and owns a car by 13 years old.
Is there anything we can do to help them? Send them money somehow or put motors on their bikes or something?
Europeans don't need cars as there are actual cities.
Within half an hour on foot, I have a halfdozen grocery stores and a dozen malls. Most of my surroundings are forests, if I go straight north there'll just be more trees until I reach the Arctic Ocean.
>>997633
Goddamn that pic looks like hell on earth
>>997633
>Within half an hour on foot,
Except it would take 5 minutes to travel that distance in a car and you wont end up sweaty.
>it's another "I'm trying to ride up a gradual hill and I get stuck behind a guy going really slow and I can't pass him and I have to slow down so much that my front wheel starts wavering back and forth I almost lose my balance and fall off the bike" episode

>it's another "the hot, thick girl at work rides her bike to work and i'm too ugly and weird to ask her if she wants to ride together sometime" episode
sigh
But riding with her will be awkward.
You ride in front of her and you wonder if she's thinking you're showing off and racing, but if you ride behind her you wonder if she thinks you're a pervert checking out her arse.
Ride side by side and you are an arse for impeding traffic.
So just fap to her facebook photos like a normal person.
>>1001804
Just ask you weird, sweaty creep.
>>1001808
Two cyclists riding abreast isn't impeding traffic.
Help! I blew the front tire inner tube on my schwinn Or2 does anyone know the tube size?
