BART had three of the new cars on display at Pleasant Hill Station today, here are a few photos.

Another open house tomorrow at MacArthur, and two more in a couple weeks' time.

Recently became active on board and noticed a lack of repair info being shared.
I'm considering a shimergo mod on my CX bike since my Chorus 10-speed (picture related, such a beauty) is a little worn out.
I have no idea how that would work, and I want to be enlightened.
Feel free to post your own questions and anwers on bicycle repair (and to answer mine :DDD)

I have a steel frame with a more than slightly bent rear triangle
looked it up online already and got the tools, only thing that's holding me back from setting it straight right now is no access to a vise for the time being since a repair stand won't do it for this job

don't you have a workbench or is it just the vice that you're missing? there's movable vices for sale but those typically aren't as strong

How do I measure the width of my rim? Also how do I know what tyre width will my rims fit?

Hey /n/ here you go with a quick tip I discovered after I crashed my bike into a skateboarder and my forks got messed up...

As long as your forks are made out of steel (mine are made out of "Chromoly" which is a fancy word for "steel") you can just bend it back no problem.

if this ever happens to you, brace your bike against two hard things and then use a spreader to push the fork back into place as shown in the picture.

Hope this can help you some day. :-)

Nice improvisation OP. FYI there's even a tool that makes doing this kind of rebending even easier to accomplish.
>>

This is objectively the best way to straighten a fork. Too bad alot of you wont have a cager to help.

Why do you have a flatbar road bike if you already own a proper road bike? Genuine curiosity.

They're both proper road bikes, Anon. ;_;

But the flatbar one has full fenders and is equipped for wet weather riding. The other isn't, and has HED hubs that aren't really water proof.
Plus the flatbar bike is great for just cruising around the city and taking in the sights with a more relaxed riding position. Plus it's heavy so good for muscle building during the Winter.

Ultimately, though, it's the bike that made me fall in love with cycling and had it before I ""upgraded"" to the more efficient road bike, to cover more ground and go faster.

They also use them to film golf events, lol.

I think a solar powered airship might be cool when fuel prices get too high
>>
I don't know why they aren't used more to capture overhead footage of sporting events, like F1, instead of using helecopters to be desu.
>>
>>991680
Well, right away they take up a metric fuckton of space for a tiny cargo load. The Hindenburg carried about 100 passengers and crew at max, while a 737 a tenth of its size can carry the same amount. They're also very slow, and helium is expensive as hell.

Because BART uses flat wheels. They're also so fucked with the times that they're treating tapered wheels as the best thing since sliced bread after discovering their existence only a short while ago.

I think you're looking for >>>/o/

But to answer your question: the advances are numerous. The computational power alone is allowing ever more sensors and complex algorithms to be integrated.
I think the next big leap will be the communication between cars and themselves and the infrastructure itself.

Look, kid. I don't know who you are or what kind of riding you do, but I'm not one to back away from a challenge -- or from danger. You see those professional freeriders hucking backies off 30 foot cliffs on gravity rigs? Yeah, I'm one of those guys. Or the guys riding 100kph in a peloton only centimeters away from other riders, where the slightest mishap would send them flying onto the pavement -- or worse, off the cliff that the road is running alongside? Yeah, I'm one of those guys too. I'm a 3-time downhill world champion and a 5-time Tour De France winner. I also have the 3rd lowest time ever recorded in the Race Across America, the most difficult endurance sport event in world history. Then you little BMX punk kids and fixie hipster faggots come and tell me that I am afraid to take risks? No, fuck that and fuck you. I'm not afraid to take risks, I'm just not an idiot. I'm all for adventure and risk, but there is literally no reason to ride without a helmet or without brakes, ever, under any circumstances (aside from riding brakeless in a velodrome). I hope you get run over by a death cage and die, kiddo.
