Rig thread?
Thinking about going for ALICE over MOLLE,
biggest deciding factor for me is I need to use a Ka bar on my shoulder. Can a knife sheath be attached to Alice harnesses? If so how?

Why do you want a K-Bar there? It will interfere with weapons manipulation and pack straps.
>>
>>31164034
Just get a molle or rhodesian rig. Alice is cool but uncomfortable
>>

I used to think like you about 2 weeks ago
I will also keep my ka bar on my left shoulder upside down for easy grap tacticoolness.
You should look at something like this once you decide molle is actually better by all conditions except price

he made a really long video about not getting respect cuz hes not an operator or something

What type of lock do I need to buy to secure my .22 Henry Mare Leg? I bought it used and didn't think of it at the time.

I have no idea, since I regular trigger lock won't work (duh), and I don't see how a cable lock would work.

>The War of a community—of whole Nations, and particularly of civilised Nations—always starts from a political condition, and is called forth by a political motive. It is, therefore, a political act. Now if it was a perfect, unrestrained, and absolute expression of force, as we had to deduct it from its mere conception, then the moment it is called forth by policy it would step into the place of policy, and as something quite independent of it would set it aside, and only follow its own laws, just as a mine at the moment of explosion cannot be guided into any other direction than that which has been given to it by preparatory arrangements. This is how the thing has really been viewed hitherto, whenever a want of harmony between policy and the conduct of a War has led to theoretical distinctions of the kind. But it is not so, and the idea is radically false.

>>31163608
>War in the real world, as we have already seen, is not an extreme thing which expends itself at one single discharge; it is the operation of powers which do not develop themselves completely in the same manner and in the same measure, but which at one time expand sufficiently to overcome the resistance opposed by inertia or friction, while at another they are too weak to produce an effect; it is therefore, in a certain measure, a pulsation of violent force more or less vehement, consequently making its discharges and exhausting its powers more or less quickly—in other words, conducting more or less quickly to the aim, but always lasting long enough to admit of influence being exerted on it in its course, so as to give it this or that direction, in short, to be subject to the will of a guiding intelligence., if we reflect that War has its root in a political object, then naturally this original motive which called it into existence should also continue the first and highest consideration in its conduct. Still, the political object is no despotic lawgiver on that account; it must accommodate itself to the nature of the means, and though changes in these means may involve modification in the political objective, the latter always retains a prior right to consideration. Policy, therefore, is interwoven with the whole action of War, and must exercise a continuous influence upon it, as far as the nature of the forces liberated by it will permit.
>>
>>31163617
>>We see, therefore, that War is not merely a political act, but also a real political instrument, a continuation of political commerce, a carrying out of the same by other means. All beyond this which is strictly peculiar to War relates merely to the peculiar nature of the means which it uses. That the tendencies and views of policy shall not be incompatible with these means, the Art of War in general and the Commander in each particular case may demand, and this claim is truly not a trifling one. But however powerfully this may react on political views in particular cases, still it must always be regarded as only a modification of them; for the political view is the object, War is the means, and the means must always include the object in our conception.

What did he mean by this?

what everyday items can double as makeshift silencer i have an idea for small calibre like 22 or 25, a bananna could do it. low pressure and small bullet would pass through the skin and the lump of the banan slowing it enough to reduce sound. post other ideas for items evidence can be easily eaten or burned

So, I have 2k to spend on a rifle. Problem is I'm really torn on what to get.

I've narrowed my options to 4 rifles.

1: Steyr AUG(O.D. green w/ 16in barrel)
2: CZ Bren 805 S1 carbine
3: PTR91 (K3P PDW, SC, or A3R)
4: Beretta ARX100 plus short barrel kit

The AUG, Bren, and ARX are rifles I've wanted for quite awhile. I feel like I'd be missing an opportunity to finally get a rifle I've been wanting for ages but on the other hand, I currently own a CAI Cetme and I really love the HK styling/feel and .308. But I kinda want a PTR as they're greatly better in QC and my Cetme is kinda junky. I've done a lot of work to my Cetme to get it the way I want it, but deep down I know it won't last me as long as a quality built rifle and I'll just keep on having to fix it up.

So, what is /k/'s opinion on which rifle I should get.

>1: Steyr AUG(O.D. green w/ 16in barrel)
Never been a big fan of the AUG, just as a personal preference. Many people live them, I would recomend test firing one before you buy

>2: CZ Bren 805 S1 carbine
It had some issues when they came out amd the Czech military demanded some changes.. They're coming out with a new model that's supposed to be superb. I like the look as far as 5.56 rifles go when everything is AR, but I feel like it would definitely bw worth the wait for a new model run.

>3: PTR91 (K3P PDW, SC, or A3R)
A classic in my opinion. All around good shooter, recoil isn't too bad, pretty reliable unless you get a turbo shitty model. I own one and it's one of my favorite shooters.

>4: Beretta ARX100 plus short barrel kit
No opinion/experience
>>
>>31163388
Well, my local indoor rifle range had a F/A Aug I could rent. From what I've heard, slot of the issues the Czech's had stemmed from the magazines. They used cheap, backwards engineered g36 mags. They switched to actual G36 mags and stanag mag wells after the military bitched a massive fit. Or so I've been told.
