Hi /k/ I am righting a paper for school right now and I need so specific examples of how
Women were useful in Combat and other areas of major war
>>31171390
just take the incomplete
>>31171390
They were useful for propaganda, like the Russian all-women battalion and their famous female snipers, but they served little tactical purpose.
On the logistical front, women made up a large percentage of the wartime industrial workforce, churning out airplanes and materiel for the war effort.
How could anyone possibly think that 4chan is a good place to ask anything about women?
ITT: Post funny/weird/fucked up stories happened to you, or someone you know during service time.
My father told me shitloads of stories from his conscript times, I share some of them with you guys. Tell me if you want more, I would rather not write everything down if nobody gives a fuck.
>'80s
>Warsaw Pact aesthetics conscript army
Sergeants of the conscripts were the Eastern equivalents of American DSs.
>Platoon is rallied to help extinguish a fire and assess damage at a nearby distillery.
>[What are firefighters?]
>Comrade Sgt, orders everyone to absolutely positvely do not steal a single bottle of booze.
>"Command understood, comrade Sgt."
>seems_legit.jpg
>Arrive on scene with a URAL truck
>Shit's on fire yo
>Eventually fire was put out, most of the distillery burned down though.
>Report to comrade Sgt.
>He's nowhere to be found.
>"It's time, boys!"
>Load up on alcohol
>Shit's hidden literally everywhere on the truck.
>Even in the fucking replacement tyre of the URAL.
>Driver has seen nothing, in exchange for a bottle or two.
>Platoon RTB.
>Comrade Sgt. still nowhere
>Pack out and hide booze in sleeping quarters.
>My father was completely abstinent for his army period, and was thanked by NCOs for that.
>Platoon conceives brilliant idea.
>Hide everything in his locker.
>Comrade Sgt. suddenly appears.
>"Surprise motherfuckers, open up lockers, everyone.."
>sweating intensifies
>"...everyone, but comrade Anon, I know he's not that kind of guy."
>Nothing was found
>Bricks were almost shat that day.
>>31171354
>be op
>start stories thread
> don't have any stories
I bet your dad was an alcoholic iron worker that beat the shit out of you
>>31171479
Well, cold war conscripts never really saw combat. Also no, his father was the alcoholic iron worker, who beat him. Mine learned from his mistakes.
>A Panamanian resistor / hold out decided to combat our outpost
>Patilla Airfield, Panama City
>He lobbed a grenade into our AO
>A mere few minutes prior I had removed myself from an aircraft stairwell
>Explosion
>One troop caught shrapnel - he was okay
>A few hours later, I noticed that shards from the grenade ripped through the skin of the aircraft where I was positioned.
>Had I remained there, I wouldn't be typing this tale.
I don't know what made me decide to come down from that seat. I was up there for hours. But just as soon as I came down, the grenade went off.
Museum grade unbagging thread
Russian air sealed in this bag. I can almost smell the vodka
>>31171270
Well, get on with it.
So i just ordered one of these from Classic firearms as a concealed carry pocket pistol. I wanted a budget pistol that wasn't plastic shit. Did I do gud?
>>31171212
Just get a glock bro
Has literally the worst trigger in the universe but otherwise makes good dakka.
>>31171236
reading is a skill
Is the A-10 even all that good of an Attack Aircraft?
>>31171121
No.
Yes, in the context of bombing untrained and under equipped sand negroes.
>>31171121
it can attack pretty well
times youve embarrassed yourself at a gun store
>just turned 18
>want to get into guns. Plinking, cc'ing, maybe even building
>I was young and excited, fuck off
>walk into this store in town, ive been in there before with my dad and looked forward to the day I can go in on my own
>side note, I had been asking my dad to go with me as a father-son moment, but he kept putting it off so I went alone
>walk in and the store has about 7 old farts hanging around the counter
>all talking stops, everyone stares
>feel awkward but go up to the counter and just start looking
>theyre still looking right at me, all stares
>show them my ID, clerk scoffs and gives his friend a funny look
>ask if I can handle a USP
>"why?"
>I might buy it thats why
>he sighs loudly and puts it on the table, giving me a look like im bothering him
>point it at the ground, have trouble getting it out of battery and none of them show me ( i had never handled more then a shotgun) so I just put it back and ask for a few more
>rinse and repeat, old guy is staring down at me like an idiot, I try to start conversation by talking about grips or triggers or my "experience" and he just "Hmmms" quietly
>granted most of my experience was what I read online and I probably tried to hard but still
>finally he asks if im getting anything or what
>say Im going to get some cash and come back to get something, NOW he seems mildly interested
>fuck this place and all the old farts in here
>leave, never go back out of embarrassment, takes me a month before I get the courage to try another store that was much friendlier
>>31171090
Nah you did fine, fuck that guy.
Why is it always the old guys.
>>31171090
OP did you look like this when you went into the store?
Afternoon, /k/. Whats this thing on the back of the los angeles class submarines?
Also sorry about that bad photos, there aren´t many pics of the los angeles class submarines in drydock.

New York state Anderson pistol/preban 30 mags?
OK gize. Haven't shot an ar since Iraq in 1990. Now I'm itching to hold one again, so:
Anderson pistol-5.56 (have pistol permit)
SB or Blade wrist brace
Single top rail
Free float, overmolded Hogue round tube handguard
Preban mags
Optic to be determined,(if any)
Anderson no-lube cuz Balad burns pits left me with hella allergies to gun cleaning products. (Try to 10-ring while sneezing! Rash on hands. My WIFE has to clean my .45 after shooting FFS!)
Can I use preban 30 round mags in AR pistola in NY?
How much we talking, all-in?
How to lighten? (Best products?)
Nice place you got here, mind if I stay?!
>>31170967
NY safe act will not be your friend. This scary assault weapon/pistol will need to be registered and assuming it is legal afterwards will be limited to 10 round mags. While I doubt many people follow any of that more than 50 miles out of NYC it would likely be smart to not advertise. Looks like a neat setup though have fun
>>31172279
If it's sold to me by Anderson as a pistol, it just goes on my pistol permit, right?
No further registration needed? >>31172279
I just got my new red dot installed, and now my baby's a tack driver. How's your raifu treating you?
Unfortunately the cheek weld is super high. I'll have to make my own.
Is that gun brand new? Theres no wear anywhere...
>>31170945
Is that a FAL or a G3?
What a huge fucking mistake.
>>31170943
>mistake
>>31170943
What, killing commies by proxy?
Better dead than red, ya pinko
>>31170952
I think he means giving the Mujahadeen stingers and AK's, just for them to devolve into the Taliban and Al-Queida to fuck with the US later on.

How does this make you feel?
>>31170909
>Can barely get guns lock that close with a Luneberg lens
>Even the Rafale pilots admit that with heavily canned setups they only got a couple good alignments out of ~14 engagements
>>31171205
In a real fight they would have to get that close anyway, because SPECTRA stops missiles from long range being able to target the Rafales. But the Raptors stealth only works at long range but SPECTRA works at all ranges. So the Rafales can fire MICA (which is better than AMRAAM anyway because it has a better seekhead) while the Raptors has to use its gun. The Rafales has a 30m cannon too while the Raptors only has a 20mm and the Raptors is a larger target.
>>31171476
The cannon size between 20mm to 30mm for air targets is irrelevant.

>tldr army wants to replace the M2 12.7 mm guns on humvees with a 30 mm cannon
Why are we still using these wheeled coffins
>>31170867
>the current year
>still using humvees
Where the fuck does the US military budget go to?

>tinnitus meme
Ha ha. We get it. Loud noises such as firearms cause hearing damage. It's really not that funny. Stop with the goddamn threads already. We've all seen them, and at this point it's just EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
great thread fucktard

HE SAID YOU GIVE GREAT HEAD

varmints
Sweetie, look, I know this seems a bit extreme. But the squirrels have been particularly troublesome lately, and I'm kind of running out of options at this point.
Now you might wanna stand back.
Hi /k/
Greetings from /tg/. I come to you in my time of need.
For the purpose of tactical combat wargaming,
How accurate is pic related?
What kind of "effective range" should I be considering?
At what ranges should there be numerical diminishing returns?
Not trying to start a 5.56 vs 7.62 war, just looking for a little advice or links to useful info
Also asking the same for pistol cartridges.
I know 50 m is generally the farthest you'll ever want to shoot a pistol
Just give 5.56 better accuracy and slightly more range, but make 7.62x39 do more damage and have better penetration to even it out. That's probably the best way to balance them for a board game.
It has more to do with what you shoot it out of desu, and the person holding the rifle. Barrel length dictates velocity heavily
