what you think of this kind of artwork?
What is all that on the wall?
And shouldn't that boat be showing some kind of movement, in such a rough sea??
Typical cliche boat in sea painting, not quite original.
I would recomend seeking less explored themes,
maybe a dramatic wreck, purple skies, tormented souls, a coast with civ ruins... Dunno
i love it. the water is fucking beautiful. maybe it's lacking, it could do with some more ships/birds but other than that it's great.
*would you consider this sellable art
>>2618199

Has anyone on /ic/ actually managed to complete Erik Olson's perspective series?
Shits so in depth and nuanced its amazing, but its like a whole year's worth of video, especially considering the time itll take to soak in and apply the practices.
its all a big meme
>>2618757
I have but then I realized all my favorite gook artists hardly ever use perspective in the sense of man made, environment perspective and when they do it's very basic stuff and or they just use sketchup for the very technical set-ups/trace photos. I have yet to find anything on perspective focused heavily on the human figure besides gumroad crap. Nevertheless If you go through it you'll never have to ask anyone about perspective errors and sketchup will not solve these issues for you.
>>2621490
Oh one more thing, I heard Erik will make a perspective chapters on the figure one day and nma will have a new site out early next month so there is that. They promised this for months now though so don't hold your breath.
I just painted this its a new style for me, what do you think

How the fuck do you guys do it? I have been "drawing" for the past 4 or 5 months and can barely pick up a pencil at this point. Every time I try to draw something, things go wrong one after another and I have to step away from it because I get too frustrated. The only time I can get a drawing done is if Things don't go wrong in the beginning. If I get a pose right and everything, I can continue the drawing for hours on end even if I make a bunch of mistakes on anatomy or something. But if things start going wrong with the pose, I begin wanting to rip my hair out. How do you guys deal with this kind of frustration, or am I just a fucking idiot who'll never get gud? I want to draw, there are things I want to draw, paint, sculpt, you name it. I love art, but I can't get past all this frustration from not getting things right.
Step 1: stop having autism
Step 2: if it really frustrates you that much draw something else instead over nitpicking one detail
Step 3: have fun mayne
you expect way too much of yourself (especially at lmao5month)
relax, unwind, but most importantly KEEP LEARNING
this is a long journey, so do it one step at a time
thanks senpai guys
C and C, how to do more accurately
>>2620718
Post in the beginner thread.
>>2620718
thank god, found the new beginner thread op
I honest l dont get how people just give up and settle down a shitty face shape. Just keep erasing the shitty stuff and look at an actual face when you draw. There's no easy way to learn to do it more accurately
Hello, /ic/, what's this style or genre of painting?
Do you have any you could share? I really have a fondness for it.
Especially interested in ones of angels, gods, divinity and the like.
Although, more mundane ones would be appreciated as well, if you have any, please post them.
How do you guys get back on the horse after not drawing for a while?
Have you ever stopped for a period of time and found when you started back up you were considerably worse?
I recently moved, switched day jobs, started planning a bridal shower and have an assortment of other daily responsibilities that have gotten worse.
During this month I just haven't touched a pen and paper (except maybe once or twice) now I have a commission I need to do and it just looks like garbage.
I can't get back in the loop. How long is it going to take to make things feel right again?
How do you keep your brain on drawing all the time?
>>2617555
las has kept me drawing for half a year everyday while before I spent tne previous two years on and offing art with emphasis on the offing
>>2617565

What do you mean an /ic/ essentials? Essentials for what? Do you want to learn how to draw??
>>2620962
I think he wants to read up on art and art movements, essential painters and artist
>>2620962
no i dont want to learn how to draw
im talkin like the /mu/ essentials. i want to know ABOUT art, not necessarily how to create it.
>drawing for anything less than 12 hours a day
>making it
Pick one.
The pros are easily managing 20 hrs a day because of modern discoveries of the human body allowing people to sleep for a total of 4 hours a day. How do you expect to compete with your measly 4 hours a day?

>not being able to make progress in less than 12 hours a day
probably not going to make it in the first place.
Not going to make it sempai
What do you guys think of this furrier if flame trooper I've drawn? He is holding a flamethrower that spews out trimethyl borate.
>>2619420
Are you serious?
Yes why? I personally think it is not too bad.
>>2619420
Reminds me of the Power Armor from Fallout 3
