Just how does one get this much insane detail like in the pic with just a pencil?
Practice drawing insane amounts of detail. That's it
>There are no special techniques. The only way to learn is to actively doing it failing and trying again until you get your desired results
P.s. this is a really dumb question kys

What is the best type of pencils for drawing?
Also why some people are saying what mechanical pencils are bad for drawing?
You should use at least 5 types of pencils, ranging from the darkest Bs to the darkest Hs, so you can get different kinds of grays without depending on pressure
Mechanical pencils are inferior to the common ones
OP is drawn with mechanical right? Hard to imagine getting that line quality unless you sharpen pencil before every stroke
>>2629070
Personal preference, mostly. You should hold it comfortably and get darker values without adding too much pressure. It should be able to be sharpened into a smooth taper without chipping/breaking. Mechanical pencils don't allow you to draw with tone, which is very important. They are good for mechanical sketches tho (Scott Robertson etc).

The ability to control value should be within your fingers, not your tools. When practicing, switch pencils only when you're switching from drawing construction lines to lines that are actually visible.
Hello /ic/, here is my story.
I want to be a comic book artist (writer, artist, colorist and letterist). I have been practicing comic style for about 4 years, but this years is the first I putt all my effort.
I need advice on how to get better or I will like to know if you have some more advices for comic artists in my situation.
Here's something I drew today, it took me 4 hours and I want your opinion on how can I get better. Also comic book general thread.
>I know my shadings are shit. I'm not used to shadow my drawings.
>I know my anatomy is shit. I'm still practicing.
>I know the colors are not the best, but I found a way to get better with practice.
>I know my inking is shit. I was used to ink with microns, but now I started to use a Speedbal Hunt #102 and I´m learning how to use it.
I know you don't care but here are my inspirational artists.

Good job anon. There's enough negativity around here, even for 4chan.
OP, pretty much everything they said.
>>2628765
Is that picture your work? Its terrible.
I think you're focusing too much in comics while all the artists you mentioned were educated as general illustrators.
Draw from life to learn anatomy, shading and stuff like that, reality is the biggest inspiration for any art but also start looking at art outside of comics for iinfluences and ideas.
Go ahead and shit on my stuff.
Brutal honesty if you wanna call it that.

Needs more Loomis. Read the sticky, faggot.
How do I improve my line quality btw?
Probably my worst one but whatever...
A stroke of colour is not difficult

What does /ic/ think of Albrecht Dürer as human and Dürer the insect?

I normally wouldn't have made a thread for my own art, but I've hit a roadblock.
I've only recently learned how to draw from imagination, but I realized that I have nothing to draw from. Like I can reliably trace my mental image of stuff but my mental image is pretty bland and straight-forward.
like pic related is a sketch of some normie bullshit I thought up, but there's nothing really outstanding going on.
I have exactly one year to NEET. and I have to figure out a way to turn what I have into something god-tier.
I know this is implausible, but suppose it weren't?
I've built up the discipline to draw without inspiration, work long hours, and I've read most of the pdfs floating around,
but I'm really trying to turn my basic understanding into mastery.
My ego killed itself, so I'm willing to listen to whatever you think might help.
>inb4 loomis, beginner thread, etc.
Same problem here.
the perspective in this one got fucked up because it was distorted in my head.

Don't be stupid, use reference.
Remember there was a thread talking about peoples historic erotic fantasies from history, both real and imagined things that got people hot under the collar and got me thinking...
Im an ok artist (slightly toon' im afraid) and basicly id like to draw some pornography for you all here involving historical character, sexy events or just plain period piece porn.
Id implore others to get involved though!
P.S: be as graphic as you like but ill be sure to post my work in /aco/-/i/ or whatever since this is a blue board.

A barbarian raider or pirate capturing some tower, manor, or ship, only to find a lovely and young noble lass holed up inside. Whether it's on demand or maybe a misunderstanding (i.e. our raider is a gentleman but our lass is a bit overcome and delirious) she starts to strip naked and offers herself to him in exchange for ____.
Hi, i want to start learning digital drawing, bought a Graphics drawing tablet from ebay and I need recommendations/tips to start learning. A book about all this stuff in photoshop would be good.
