What are some good sources to learn basic architecture as far as an artist is considered? Particularly basic elements, structure, and styles.
I've spent my time drawing figures, but I'm absolutely stumped when it comes to portraying buildings.
>>2619125
Any old book on basic architecture? That ought to give you a rough overview of architecture throughout history.
Unless you're on a ranch in wyoming, you're probably close enough to a city with a variety of architecture--take a field trip.
>>2619125
It's really not that different from drawing figures. Draw buildings from life and photos, apply basic perspective stuff. There is a course on cgpeers though from learn squared on enviroment painting that goes over basic architecture stylea
>>2619194
Probably easier than figures.
If OP is interested in drawing his own buildings from imagination, that's another matter, but starting with observation from life and photos is a good idea regardless.
Remember that photography adds its own layer of perspective and distortion.
There are so many beautifully drawn eclipses in his sketches. But I haven't yet spotted a perfect circle. Can he do it freehand?
no, he tries very hard but it's impossible :(

My friend draws the stiffest, flattest, most baby's first manga looking shit and she is constantly telling me my faces are too round/ my characters are chubby looking.
>she once legit looked at a study of canine teeth I was doing and said drawing stuff like that is stupid because no one likes realistic art.
Like, what the fuck are you talking about?
Hopefully this is okay to post. I was redirected here a while back.
>Looking to commission an artist to paint a girl in a style similar to pic related. This is actually a commission I had done before but the artist no longer accepts requests. Anyway, if you think you can do this, send me an email. [email protected]
