What do you think of Sycra's simplified anatomy model?
>>2618978
Very very basic and stylized. Youre better off just reading an actual anatomy book like hogarth.
Fuck off sycra
might aswell learn a real anatomy model,
one thats not stylised
one that has just as many intricacies
one thats from a real artist
loomis, hampton, w/e not sycra

What do you carry with you on a day-to-day basis, /ic/?
Do you have any particlar bags or art satchels?
Personally I like to have as little stuff on me as possible.
I have small stitch bound sketchbook that fits neatly into my pocket and a pen or pencil depending on the day on me at all times. It's the best solution I've found yet, it's flexible while still being of decent quality and I don't even notice it when I carry it around. I also have a small backpack which I occasionally bring along for my iPad for plein air studies.
Pic from google
i carry one of those zipping binder things that has my sketch book and my script book and some other paper, some pencils and one of those portable watercolor box kits some times.

Excuse my retardation but what's a zipping binder thing? I'm not getting a clear picture in my head here
Alex Toth Thread
Why do shit 'artists' always find the need to always sign their drawings?
It makes them feel good. They do it for fun, and it isn't hurting anybody. Why care about what they do?

>Feels like drawing forms without a perspective line from life is a waste of time once you reach an easily attainable point
>You can do literally everything 100% accurately with an eye-level line and a vanishing point
>Feel lost on what to reach for now
Is it time to start studying anatomy/figure drawing? It feels like I've still got more to learn about forms, but it also feels pointless to continue drawing cylinders now that I can think in 3D about ellipses.
What should I do now that I've reached an ok point with form? I don't know if I should start drawing humans right now.
>>2619679
I've been thinking about studying shadows and form.
Is that a good next point to begin on?
>>2619679
Oh, easily attainable huh? Why don't you post your work then buddy

Status, whoever created that must be an established person among the current modern art scene. The people who buy these things dont buy it out of an appreciation for good art. They bought it because some popular artist made it

I'm very new to drawing and as of recently my hands have begun to tremble after 20-30 minutes of practice. Normally I will just take a short break, do some practice exercises like drawing straight lines, and I will regain better control. That said, do you guys have any advice on how to avoid this problem in the first place? And what is the cause of it, tensing up my fingers/hand too much when holding a pencil?
>>2617689
Use Paint Tool SAI and increase the stabilizer like a madman. That's what everyone does.
>>2617689
Not sure how common this is, but if it only started recently that's more worrying than just having consistently shaky hands.
How severe are the tremors, does it affect your grip strength and does this only happen when you draw? It's worth checking periodically to make sure you aren't super tense or stressed, but if the tremors are bad enough it could be a nerve problem and you might want to see a doctor if it gets worse. Alternatively, if you're taking any medication, that could cause it as well.

visit your Doctors, this doesn't sound normal Anon.

Is there any point to learning 2D animation in this day and age seeing as it's simply going to be replaced by 3D CGI?
>>2611101
if you're not a degenerate piece of shit who hates emotion and animatory flow, than yes
There will always be a place for 2d animation. Its a format and easy to get into by drawing image after image in a sequence. There are unreal angles/views in 2d that don't translate into 3d but yet they still work.
I'll probably always prefer the 2D aesthetic, but I saw a .webm of a scene in Rio 2 featuring a singing purple frog that gave me a newfound respect for 3D. She was very well animated, characterful and expressive in a way I hadn't seen in the format before. Really gave me pause tbhfam

This thread is meant for artists who might want to try to make anime works in-between their studies. It is strongly recommended that you use this thread in conjunction with learning the elements and fundamentals of art. You can also discuss the visual elements of various professional artists as well if you keep it relatively articulate and civil.
Submit your drawings, receive feedback or critique others! Share your knowledge and remember to thank those who've critiqued or red-lined your drawings. Most importantly, enjoyee the fleeting summer!

For all the bullshit on this board, some of you guys can really draw. Like OP's pic.

Alright /ic/ you guys are supposed to be "good at arting", so tell me, which rendition of the Pokemon is better?
>>2619736
Ehhhhh both renditions are good, its just a matter of opinion which you like better. I like the original art just because of the simplistic style... and nostalgia
