Hi, guys. I need and opinion
what do you think about this card. In english would be "The shares of my love rose by 100%" "that´s why i love you more every day"
is it cute, comical or pretty; or ugly, stupid or none interesting?
Would you buy this to your love one?
>>278372
I would definitely buy it for my girl if she was a businesswoman, otherwise I dunno.
May seem a little boring to some girls. It looks awesome though, good design!
Would love to see how you drew the businessguy.

I agree with this.
Should I buy an apple computer for graphic design? Looking at the specs they don't seem good but people keep telling me that Apple computers at build different therefore are faster
Should I do it boys?
>>278232
>Apple computers at build different therefore are faster
this is stupid.
Apple is glorified by those who don't know better (daring to be "different"). It's low-tier hardware with a pretty interface (which is nothing but a copywrited linux distribution).
So the answer is no OP. It's not that apple is bad and macfags are wrong, but you can get better specs for the same money if you get a non-trendy brand. THAT will make your computer faster, better specs.
>Don't fall for the design=mac meme
>>278234
Not OP but this is pretty kuch what I was thinking too. I kept hearing that Macs were superior for design work but their specs were so sub-par for the pricetag that I never bought into it.
But one reason why I think this myth is still being spread is because some (if not most) design schools still use the Mac OS to teach, which makes it harder to apply the techniques learnt in class to your Windows based OS because of interface differences.
My sister caved and bought a Mac specifically for schoolwork because of these factors and now she has no clue what to do with it because they can't gaym.
>>278232
think about it this way if you'll have two people in front of you one has a mac and the other a pc, which one will you hire?
mac's had an status symbol pc's can't replicate plus apple fags tend to procastinate less.
Questions about how to start designing T-Shirts?
So it's possible that I could have a few clients (Minor music brands) that would like me to design some T-Shirts for them.
I don't know where to start.
I can work Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 and CC.
I'm not sure if I would need to use a template or what.
Once I have the design finished how should I send it to the client? PDF? JPG?
As of now all that I can think of is that I would probably be working in Illustrator for the most part with a CMYK workspace and I know how to use general Rules like the rule of thirds and stuff and I can run the software it's just I've never embarked on something like this.
If there's a thread for this I couldn't find it.
Sticky Post said something about a sidebar but I can't seem to find it on Chrome. (Adblock disabaled)

>I'm not sure if I would need to use a template or what.
>how should I send it to the client?
Just do the design as you normally would and deliver a jpg of it to be aproved. You can add a mockup if you want as in pic related.
If you are working vectorial, once it gets aproved, deliver the design as either pdf or eps

>I can work Illustrator and Photoshop CS6 and CC.
Learn to use both programs. You'll be able to do a lot more.
Keep your colors separated and everything as organized as possible.
Once you make a bit of progress on a design, save it as a different file. Also remember to save every 15-20min. It sucks having to start over.
>I'm not sure if I would need to use a template or what.
No template is necessary for a basic t-design.
It would be wise to know the min/max printing areas for the apparel though. It can vary a bit from shop to shop.
Work as big as possible. I like to set my documents up at 18x24 at 300dpi minimum. I've never run into an issue where the design is too small, or the design is so big it has to be shrunk down so much that details are lost.
>Once I have the design finished how should I send it to the client? PDF? JPG?
PDF is pretty standard. I've submitted designs as psd and ai files before though. Also as a PNG. Sometimes the client asks for something specific.
Learn how to properly separate colors and get your design print-ready.

People love stickers and posters because of their cheapness. I think nowadays people love illustration prints and things they brag about
>>278044

but stickers with what illustration?

what the fuck
I got a job doing fliers at my favorite venue in town. Been doing freelance gig posters for about a year and got noticed. While it's not a lot of money I'm pretty happy to have a regular gig doing something I legitimately love.
Post gig posters you made or some you dig.

Tip #1 Don't leave an editorial project to the last minute.
>>276759
The project was given to me this morning.

You should have said no.
Is there any interest here in making an entire magazine within /gd/?
(we can even do X # Editions where we spread out individually and take the source material and put it back together in our own styles)
What do you want to call it?
how about: /gd/
>>275137
I think theres about 2 good designers on this board tho.

What don't you understand? You have to copy/paste those urls in your post to your hosts file ijn order to block adobe's license servers. Otherwise, adobe will send an update to the cracked files which will de-authenticate the programs, which in turn will turn your full copy of adobe into a 30-day trial.
You have to turn the internet off during installation because you don't want to accidentally register the program. You don't have a legit license so obviously registration won't work. If it attempts to register and fails, you can't just simply run the crack to rectify your error. You will have to scrub your computer of all adobe products that you installed. So that means uninstalling the adobe programs, cleaning out the registry (if you are on windows) of any traces of the adobe programs, and searching for and removing any and all orphaned files and folders left from the uninstall, some of which will be hidden from plain view. Messing up and registering the program will cause you a major headache so make sure you turn your internet off during the whole process and make sure you block those urls to adobes license servers. The rest is pretty straight forward.

How do i design a shitty redneck t shirt? I can't exactly get it the way I want. using CS5 photoshop
this is what I have so far, but it doesnt have that 90's white trash flair that I really want.
>>278415
Because it needs color and more general content you fucking idiot.
Look at the one above.
Tide logo on the car, tide logo beside the car.
4 different fonts. Fonts aren't all one color.
Think about it this way, if you want it to 'pop' or 'jump out' at a redneck then make it FOR THOSE TYPES OF PEOPLE.
Rednecks generally aren't very smart and wouldn't want to look for too much on a shirt for info.
Make it easy to take in everything that's on the design.
Get rid of that ugly ass font too.
>>278417
what are some good fonts for this project?
Hello
Brit here
going over to China to teach graphics and illustration
I studied graphic design (6 years ago) but not illustration.
I have to make lesson plans and know what to teach chinese students and I have no idea what I'm expected to do or teach and have done by then.
Any advice, resources, stories, blogs welcome
anime
Mainland china? Good luck with that.
Lets have an elite typeface thread.
Also, I'd like to hear your opinions on pirating expensive fonts from foundries you cherish.
>Pic related
The "Lexicon" typeface that costs approx 5000$ for the family. I would never dish out that money for a typeface, but god-fucking-dammit I want it.
Also, post other elite fonts, I'll start us off:
>Avenir, Adelle, Brandon Grotesque, DIN, Gotham, Akzidenz Grotesk.
The one who posts "Helvetica" might as well shove a pencil up his nose.
>>278356
I accidentally Akzidenz Grotesk while looking for Helvetica (and love it). Should I do the nose pencil thingy or not?
>>278371
Nah, akzidenz is fine.
