Intermittent fasting is bullshit. None of the top bodybuilders do it. Skipping lunch when I have a workout later is fucking stupid. Stuffing yourself with 100grams of protein in the morning and at night isn't optimal for muscle recovery, and I doubt many of them reach their peak protein macro.

Intermittent fasting is for fat fucks who just recently started lifting, and it makes them feel special for not eating half of the day. For once they feel in control. Because for them it's literally easier to not eat at all then eat periodically where they wouldn't be able to stop themselves.

Yeah it's almost like taking sterons and other exogenous compounds eliminates the need to do anything else.

Steroids don't replace eating, your comment is dumb as fuck

No but clen does

Guys, I am trying to get some info on how diets affect mood.

Have you guys ever noticed any big changes in mood cause primarly by a diet change?

Also, what are your thoughts on eating 1 kilo of chickpeas a day?

Come on, guys. I've been eating a kilo of chickpeas a day and I feel focking asum.
>>
I don't read studies or research on the link between food and mood, but if you're at all in tune with yourself it's pretty easy to see that there is a clear link. Think about it - eating is putting foreign things inside of your system, where it must be broken down and incorporated into you. Whatever you put into your body must be processed chemically (I imagine), so I would think that food in a way is very much like medicine in that you are creating a physiological change by incorporating it.

It's pretty difficult for me to experience a sense of well being when I have loaded my body up with heaps of absolute bullshit, so this is an indicator that physiology is a huge factor in determining mood. When I'm in a bad mood, my thoughts turn sour and I become less receptive to the inherent joy of basically anything and everything. This seems to indicate that mood is a big factor in influencing the quality of thoughts.

I think the saying "You are what you eat" comes from the physiology -> mood -> thoughts chain of cause and effect.

Not an expert in the subject, but this is how I generally interpret my experience of what you're wondering.

Absolutely. Eating more veggies and fats changed everything for me. Especially fats, if you got additional calories that you could replace with fat, try it out, feel much more energetic, aggressive, happy and confident now.

TDEE calculators got me all messed up.

I'm 180cm, 72kg, DYEL, doing GreySkull LP, so 3 days a week, trying to bulk.

Using tdeecalculator.net it say I need 3,189 calories per day and 239 fucking grams of protein?!? Isn't that INSANELY high for me ( talking about the protein )? I barely get half of that per day, and it says something about 4 calories per gram for protein and carbs and 9 for fat. Do I really need to worry about all that shit?

Just focus on getting as closing to the percentages and not the actual calorie consumption. Eat as much as you can if building -- stay ~ 500cal below to trim.
>>
idk your age/bf% but putting in your other deets, I'm getting nowhere near that for calories, are you sure you didn't fudge the form?

And yeah I wouldn't take their protein suggestions too seriously, they're just based on macro ratios rather than minimum requirements.
>>
>>42494523
I'm 23.

And sorry, I shoulda mentioned the 3,189 calories and 239 grams of protein are when I selected bulking. Otherwise I have 2,689 calories for maintanance.

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a routine to put emphasis on my upper back, shoulders and posterior chain (physiques like Klokov, Sarychev, Wheels or even Chris Bumstead,... just a "powerful" physique).
What's the best routine for these type of physique and why? UL 3x week, PPL 2x week, or split rotation (day 1 back day 2 chest day 3 legs day 4 shoulders day 5 repeat) ?

Can someone help me understand the frequency of going between the two? Is it like one month of cut, then one of bulk, repeat? Or two months? Or is it just until you hit a target body weight or lifting weight?

I'm an actual stupid person so please help.
6 posts and 1 images submitted.
>>
>>42493812
You should bulk for at least one year, then cut for about 12 weeks.
>>
>>42493840
Is this a hard and fast rule, or just what you do?
>>
>>42493873
Bulking for less than a year is basically a waste of time, all sucsessful bodybuilders bulk for over a year. That being said, don't go overboard with your surplus. Stay at about +500cal per day. The cut is more flexible and it's basically just until you get down to your target body fat.

Other than testosterone levels, are there any other medical issues that prevent building muscle or gaining strength?

I dirty bulked for about 7-8 months, going from 180 to ~210 at 6'4, lifting 5-6 days a week.
Been lifting regularly for over a year but didn't pay any attention to diet for the first several months by mistake.

Current 5 rep maxes
>OHP - 85lb
>Bench - 130lb
>Squat - 135lb
>Deadlift - 225lb
Haven't done squats recently because of a knee injury but it's clearly the lowest compared to my other abysmal numbers

While my lifts have gone up, albeit not very much, I can't help but compare myself to people who say the reached 1/2/3/4 in <6 months.
I don't feel like I should bother getting test levels checked since the "normal" range is so broad.
It's very discouraging to be much weaker than most people with the same time lifting.

What do?
33 posts and 6 images submitted.
>>
>>42564506
Time between lifts? Starting out unneeded a solid week/1.5 weeks between training groups to actually build without over training. My strength didn't substantially improve, especially with a calorie surplus, until I gave time to repair.
>>
>>42564506
What routine did you do? Those are terrible.
>>
huh.
I'm your exact height OP and 180 lbs, and I lift quite a bit more than you so something might be up.

what kind of routine have you been doing? if you're doing 5-6 days a week maybe it's some kind of PPL, or maybe n-suns?

are you aware of to what extent you've gained muscle, rather than just bf?

since you're training this often, you could suffer from over-training. that would cause tiredness and really slow (or negative) strength gains.

another likely cause could of course be test levels.
