No, you won't. You will have a period between 6 and 12 months of lifting that you think you look great and maybe put an instagram progress pic. After that body dysmorphia will set in and you will only ever see your flaws and imperfections, be unhappy with yourself and all the progress you have made, and be constantly comparing yourself to other men you see online or in the gym. The ride never ends.

Let's talk about the snatch grip behind the neck press, aka Klokov Press. Some mouthbreathers on /fit/ insist that you will "impinge" your shoulders, on the other hand it's a staple exercise for anybody who is actually doing Olympic weightlifting. So, who's right? Share your hot opinions, please.

I love it. Really gets your shoulders nicely. However I train oly as well so I am biased and have fairly mobile shoulders

/fit/ I need help. I am a newbie and have been doing SS for a little bit. I'm just curious as to why I can Dead lift 1.5x my BW 10 times but I can barely do a single pull up. My friend says it's just about grip strength, others say I have no back strength. What is it? And if the solution is solvable, how can I do my first pull up in a day.

It's all in your back. If you can't do at least 10 wide gripped pull ups, youre either:
A:Weak as fuck
B:Fat as fuck
C:Disproportionate as fuck

or a combination of the above.

Do lat pulls like no tomorrow. drop set to absolute failure. most gyms also have cheater machines for weaklings who can't do one unassisted...

you can't. how long have you been operating a human body? that' not how that shit works.

Deads and pullups work pretty different muscles. for pull ups do pendely rows or renegade rows and some curls.
I'd suggest you look up which exercise works what. the internet is pretty helpful with that kind of stuff.

If you want to do pull-ups you should train by doing pull-ups. Also you're probably heavy. DL 1.5x your BW isn't impressive and the guys who can do sets of weighted pull-ups can do atleast 2x their BW on a DL.


I always sucked in pull-ups. When I lost 40lbs and started doing them(doing sets of 1 at the start) I became better at them. Still can't do a lot, but can atleast do it 5x5.

2 months in, any input?

I never touched a weight prior to 9/15 but started doing something close to SS with a lot of accessory lifts. I've been eating near maintenance cals a day just in an effort to gain a little muscle while not putting on too much extra fat.

I like the direction I'm going in since my lifts have all gone up a lot for me (just used bench as an example). I'm happy to keep doing this until they stall. also, it may not look like it, but I feel like my body looks better despite weighing near the same. I'd like to drop some more weight without losing my beginner gains, so any advice for that would be appreciated.

I know my progress could be a lot better and obviously I'm nowhere near my goal but I'm in it for the long haul and want to do it right. any advice would be appreciated!

cool, would like 1800 be good if my maintenance is 2000? or would you recommend a bigger deficit? my only concern is not progressing any more but you're prolly right to just test a deficit and add more cals if they stall

I do Squats for general strength like Rippletits prescribes. But I never got a year size until I threw on high volume leg Press as an accessory. Leg Press is god teir for mass.
