How many of you utilise the squat in you daily lives?
I now spend as much resting time in the squat position as possible. Fortunately I can sit-squat for up to 40 minutes at a time.
I'm also squat-pooping for maximum bowel health
I used to do this everytime I went for a smoke, I should take it up again.
Anyway, are you supposed to have a straight lower back in a natural squat or can you hunch over?

If I can hit decent amounts of protein at 12-1500 cals, what is the negative of it? Just some muscle loss?
For fatties trying to drop the fat and get to where they can start a bulk/cut cycle does it really matter if they lose a bit of almost nonexistent muscle? Sure you could do a bit of both, but why not just get to it and cut the fat first and start really building muscle. Building that tiny amount of muscle wont stop you from looking like shit initially anyhow right?
Why is it recommended that you don't do huge deficits even when you're a fat ass with no muscle? Especially if you're eating healthily like chicken, eggs, fish, veggies and stuff. I know why starving yourself is negative, but is there any truth to "starvation mode"? I couldn't imagine a 200lb man would just stop losing fat because he's only eating 800 cals a day.
Even for a drop in body efficiency, couldn't you eat like 2k cals on lifting days, and super low like 800-1000 on rest days?

You starve yourself until you feel like shit all the time. All you can think about is food. Eventually, you'll crack and binge. And then you'll feel worse. And then you'll give up.
There's just no point when you can achieve the same result with less effort. Plus, by starving yourself you don't learn to eat well, which is what you need to maintain the weightloss.

So outside of self control, is there any reason against it? On my off days I can eat at 1200 and feel fine. I usually eat 1500-1800 on lifting days with my primary goal being fat loss.

I think there might be some side effects like your body holds on to fat or something, but I'm not clear on that at all.
If you feel fine at 1200 you could try eating less, but I'd stop when you start feeling faint.

I hit some new PRs, my lifts are still very small so I'm not going crazy, but I love the personal progress.
My question, to keep this blogpost /fit/ related, is about these bars that have set weight in their weights. They're like dumbbells, but the bar is longer. Do the 60 lb ones actually weigh 60? or is it 60 + 60 on each side? ( I know this is probably a stupid question sorry.

My shoulder pops almost every time I do a lateral raise and sometimes when I do front raises. It's only on the left side by the way and this doesn't happen when I do an overhead press
