Squatting full depth is a struggle for me. I've read some stuff online and checked out some videos.
I've recently picked up SS the novice program and read through it, but I'm really struggling to achieve good squat depth I feel. I should mention I am fat, would this just get better overtime as I continue to squat or is there any particular stretches you recommend to help improve it?
Thanks /fit/

Weightlifting shoes + wider stance for starters.

Check'd. Also do a stretching routine every morning to gain mobility and flexibility. i'll post some links:

Also a good start to weight loss is to do low-intensity cardio for 30+ mins upward. the body starts burning fat instead of carbs around 30 minutes of doing cardio. Couple this with eating slightly below maintenance and you should be fine
What's the most fun lift and why is it the OHP?
>>39099362
Silly anon that's not how you spell deadlift, however OHP is definitely the second.
>>39099362
I freakin love zottman curls and cable tricep extensions. I get a nice pump every time.
For barbell stuff yeah it's probably the OHP
>>39099521
Incline dumbbell press. Nice stretch, good queeze, nice pump and can push some decent weight too
Can we all accept that this is the only acceptable body in today's bodybuilding scene? No disgusting roid gut, just a nice symmetric strong aesthetic body.

>>39099271
while he looks impressive, his legs are shorter than Arnold's
The BB-scene has a retarded obsession with size. Phil Heath was a fresh breath and a step in the right direction, but the GH+Insulin trend won't stop in the foreseeable future.
Does massages help with muscle growth? I try to go once a month, sometimes Thai, sometimes Chinese acupressure.
If anything they stretch the fuck out of places you can't do alone. And acupressure helps with aches.
Come on guys, no one here goes for massages?
>>39099154
It'll loosen you out and that's all. I had hip problem a while ago and I got it stretched and massaged like fuck. Pure agony but felt great after.
I don't know shit about what benefits it may come with but fuck me I need a good full body massage.
Maybe this weekend right after work.
Does anyone have any experience with the greek god routine? Did it help you achieve epic gains (natty), or is it just a scam?
there are no magic routines and all this shit is pretty simple. you take roids to get bigger, go on a diet when you've gained enough mass and then you pray that your insertions are good so you look like a greek god instead of a piece of shit.
>>39099127
>epic natty gains
Don't exist. The fact you're looking for them almost guarantees you're asking the wrong questions.
>muscle gain
not genetic
>aesthetic proportions
genetic
/fit/ please help me.
I've lost all motivation to lift or even exercise even the smallest amount. I've gained a lot of body fat and lost almost all of my strength and endurance. This time last year I had just started lifting, I was making progress, losing weight and gaining strength, it was slow, but progress non the less. But just at the end of the year I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition, quite a bad one. I'd lost all of my energy and would struggle to get out of bed. After a few months I finally found the right dose of medication and could be a little more active but I never got back into exercising. I used my condition as an excuse, and when I did try I'd give up as I'd quickly become exhausted.
Currently I'm sitting at about 80kg, most of which is fat. I can only manage 30 minutes walking on a treadmill (4-5km average speed) I struggle to do any lifting at all now becoming totally drained after a single set of light (15kg) bench presses.
I know the dream of becoming /fit/ might just be a dream, but I need to at least try to change. I don't want things to become worse.
Please help me /fit/ any advice you give would be helpful and appreciated.
so you went fine until you knew you had a condition?
it's all mental then and up to you to man the fuck up
you have your medication so go out there and prove to yourself that you're not the whiny faggot you described yourself as
>>39099057
>motivation
Motivation has nothing to do with it. If you know what you need to do, get your emotions out of it and just act according to your best judgement. Sign up for a gym, clear your schedule for 1 hour 3-4 times a week to go there, and force yourself through a routine. What you feel is irrelevant and waiting for motivation is futile; act like a machine, against your illogical emotional baggage, and soon enough the desire will figure out you're on the right track and catch up with your actions.
Good luck, bro, you're gonna make it.
>I was diagnosed with a thyroid condition
thyroid conditions are a myth

You should extend your arms in front of you and put your hands together making a point
Believe it!
wouldn't you be losing upper body momentum from not being able to swing your arms back and forward?

I don't give a fuck anymore alright! I'm sick and tired of having to carry my ipod around on my hand and forgetting my keys in those cup things at the treadmill. I"m sick of having to go back to my locker to put my gloves away and some faggot taking the squat rack while I change quickly. Join the FannyPack Revolution and stop thinking about what other faggots thing about you, remember your old man probably sported a fanny pack at one time and he still banged your mum.
Fuck, now I'm tempted to get one too.
Everything you say makes sense.
>not wearing a fucking coat everywhere

otr just get a small backpack, you fucking autist.
>>39098630
I just bring my backpack into the weightroom with me Anon.
Started doing it after my locker in the changing room was broken into and my shit jacked. Also coincidentally the first day I ever saw a dindu in my gym.
