Let's talk about the snatch grip behind the neck press, aka Klokov Press. Some mouthbreathers on /fit/ insist that you will "impinge" your shoulders, on the other hand it's a staple exercise for anybody who is actually doing Olympic weightlifting. So, who's right? Share your hot opinions, please.

i kinda want to get into it but have no clue about tecnhique
klokov seems to work on his feet / calves a lot
feel free to point me directions
if you have the flexibility to do olympic lifts you should be fine as long as you watch your form on that last rep
>>39091900
I love it. Really gets your shoulders nicely. However I train oly as well so I am biased and have fairly mobile shoulders

>>39092608
to be fair that first vid is a jason blaha parody
>>39092499
I like bats because she posts anon. She could have been trappy 2.0 but puts lifting above attention on /fit/. /blog

I took a look at her other vids. still autismo, but very cute
I want to differentiate two exercises known as the Klokov Press:
First one is the standing variation. This one is actually dangerous due to you being not limited by your t-spine mobility but your shoulder mobility. IT IS a good exercise given you things:
1. Don't go crazy on the weight or volume
2. You have sufficient shoulder mobility. Practice this with a broom stick.
The second one (which is also called Sotts Press) starts in a squat snatch receiving position: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nw9k086aXLk
The benefit here is the high demand in t-spine mobility and stability with both preventing you using heavier loads. Might be a little to funky just to workout your shoulders.
Take away message: Perform the standing variation given sufficient shoulder mobility.

Cheekie drew it. Pretty good
>>39091900
is that not cream pie ronia?
>>39092764
This ronia has big breasts. Bats has much wider hips.

Holy shit, talk about obscure.
>>39091900
The difference is that klokov never does this to failure, and you mouthbreathing retards can't fucking get this so you will try this with too much weight, do like 5 reps, get frustrated and try to push through it, get a small shoulder pain, think "no pain no gain" and keep pushing it, and finally snap all your shit
klokov does this because he wants to get better at oly lifts, you do this because you want some nice delts, big fucking difference, klokov doesn't care if some day he will lose 0.00000001% of gains just because he kept a rep into his pocket instead of pushing it if that means he will gain strength at the end of the month
You probably shouldn't have used that image anon

Never thought about it like that. You're kinda right. She's still autism though
>>39092499
I ship cheekie and bats
>>39092833
That shouldn't surprise you - the average user age here is almost half that of the movie's.
>>39092943
Perhaps you are right. But Bats might just keep the whole thread on the first page until knowledgeable people come along.
>>39091900
people with the shoulder structure to do oly are more likely to have no issues doing stuff like this.
people who can't do oly probably won't be able to do stuff like this either.
>>39092646
this is broscience
>>39092868
this isn't true.
klokov does go to failure.
there are numerous videos of this on youtube.
>>39091900
It is fine so long as you have shoulder mobility to do it. People typically think BTN presses are bad because they use too much range of motion/too close of a grip.
>>39092499
why does that cat have a fucking belly button, that' s disturbing...

I can relate to that. That's why I downloaded that picture in the first place. She's a real artist, you know.

What are some good cues for the klokov press?
>>39094397
don't
no

you're not klokov
>>39091900
What do I need to lift before I can get a gf like her?
>>39091900
mouthbreather checking in, don't let your creatine dribble all over the barbell if you decide to do it. if you actually listen to your body, you won't call it the Klokov Press or heaving snatch press or anything else, it'll just be where you do your presses from, for a while, if you're struggling with your receiving and/or recovery
