Is it okay to fast for an entire day if I'm trying to lose fat? I've started cutting and going to the gym 2 months ago. I'm down a bit over 25 pounds, but I don't feel like I'm making much progress. Granted, I was over 270 at the start and now I'm around 250-249. The only thing I've noticed is that my waist line did get smaller and all my pants need a belt now.
I've started fasting on sundays taking only a multivitamin and drinking water.
What are the negative repercussions for doing this?
Intermittent fasting supposedly raises your natural HGH, with 40 hours without food producing the peak of this effect.

Basically the whole "accessories are terrible" mentality. I should have been doing DB bench from day 1
bulking and cutting. most out of shape people should just eat a slight deficit and lift with some program regularly so they look better. the idea of starving yourself into nothing then eating yourself into a fat fuck is something NO ONE in real life would ever recommend. think of every muscular person you know... when were they ever chubby from bulking?

/fit/ I really need your help, My 49 year old dad who weighs 300lbs (35% BF) at 6" has high blood pressure (150/90) and the doctor told us that he has a high risk of getting a stroke unless he loses weight, He knows that he should lose weight but he's not trying hard his best. He tries to limit his calories and go to the gym more but he started eating more and watching more T.V recently for some reason. How do i help him? Help /fit/. I'm doing pretty decent with the cut right now but I'm constantly plagued by cravings, which I fight and fight and inevitably give into by binging on Saturdays and usually Sunday too. I'm still losing weight but it could be happening faster without the weekly binge. How fix? What are your secrets to destroying cravings?
The secret is to determine why you have cravings and adjust your regular diet accordingly.
Possible remedies for eliminating cravings are increasing food volume, increasing carbohydrate intake as a proportion of total calories, decreasing calorie deficit and taking a diet break.
