Major problem guys. Ever since I got a gf and lost my virginity a couple of months ago I just don't care about the gym and dressing well anymore and I Fuckin hate it.
Let's be honest, nearly all of us lift for girls and that's just what I did.
>be a skinny 20 year old virgin loser
>want to change
>start to go gym 3-5 times a week
>always make sure I dress and look well too
>I thought I was tryna better myself for nearly 2 years when subconsciously it must have been to just get a gf
>now
>no motivation to go gym, dress like an average pleb
>fuckin hate myself for it
Did anyone who finally /madeit/ and got a gf go through something similar?
inb4 letting yourself go leads to your gf dumping you.

>Let's be honest, nearly all of us lift for girls and that's just what
I've noticed that the people who lift for girls are usually the people who have extreme difficulty believing that other's can have different motivations than them. You never see people who lift for health reasons or athletic performance make similar claims.
Gfs gains goblins confirmed
Which one do you choose?
High bar ATG
> Honourable
> Used by clean, tested Olympic athletes
> Used to obtain glory for nation
> Used by men who are cut and muscular
> Actual useful movement (Better shits, can rest without chair)
Low-bar parallel "squat" (ie. botched good mornings)
> Dishonourable
> Used by fringe fatties on horse steroids
> Used for 5 seconds of instagram fame, when fellow fatties comment how strong you are
> Used by "men" who are on perma-bulk, cannot be diffrentiated from the obeast.
> Useful to bounce your belly off your thighs to lift more
Which do you choose?
Also, there are no other squat style. No point doing ATG lowbar, stupid if you want to lift more weight. "Parallel" high-bar is a joke, more like 45 degree knee bends. If I wanted a joke, I'd ask you for your squat form.
high bar
i started lifting before the internet was a thing and just naturally squatted that way before even knowing there was such a thing as high-bar vs low-bar.
>>39870654
ATG or not? Non-ATG is counted as a 0 rep. Non-ATG squats are the kipping of squats.
>>39870645
hello dmitry i squat high-bar ATG
i see you in gym later?
If I am 5'9, 168 lbs, and I am lifting 3 days a week, and running 3 days a week (2 miles each time), what should my caloric intake be to lose about a pound a week?
2,000 calories a day?
>>39870368
Are you retarded?
Honest question, retarded people need less calories.
>>39870379
what about my question gives you the impression that I am retarded?
I was eating about 1800 calories a day while just lifting, but I know running takes a lot of energy, so I am not sure 1800 with running is a good idea.
bump
I think it's a mistake to let going to the gym take over your life, unless you plan on competing. Just like that meme with the cute girl asking you about your hobbies.
Here's what I do:
Train after 9pm when the kids go to bed
Most workouts done in 45 mins, except when I have cardio I do 1 hour stairmaster
I drink protein shakes but just as a quick snack between meals or when I'm in the car
Don't count calories
Diet is just a mix of easy healthy choices, like porridge, avocado tuna and cheese on toast, lean meat with veggies, etc.
Don't eat 8 egg whites every day
Don't take steroids
Routine is a basic PPL
No desire to max out lifts or do 1234, just want to lift decent weight and look reasonable muscular
This is like relaxation for me, and it feels good not to pressure myself too much. My actual hobbies are gardening/home maintenance (learning how to fix things around the house), managing my investments, cooking, and I am starting a web based tech company on the side with a friend.
If you are a young buck who lives for the gym, consider making it a habit instead of a hobby and find something else to do with your time.

Why not
>>39870282
Pain in the ass to make, and not very delicious. I can make oats with frozen berries from a standing start in 2 mins, including a cup of coffee.
>>39870286
To each their own pham
Actually i assumed your points are what fitizens aim for but i could be wrong
But thanks for the wise word and have a good life with your family, you seem like a chill person
Show me a better carb source.

What does /fit/ think of this year's fad diet?
>>39869882
It's a bit misleading.
I'm a microbiologist who does a lot of work in the area of altering microbial gut flora via dietary intake. The foods listed in the picture all use microbes in one way or another to alter the product into a food with unique taste, It doesn't necessarily mean those microbes will make your gut flora more healthy or help you lose weight. You could just replace all the foods with alcohols if that was the premise.
Just changing your diet to more vegetables and fibre and less processed food and sugars will make your gut flora more healthy.
>>39869967
So is there no evidence at all that "probiotic" foods actually transfer microbes to the gut flora?
>>39869998
Of course they will make it to the gut along with most other bacteria that are hiding in or on anything else you consume.
The question is how long do those actual bacteria stay there and actually do any good, or is it the foods that come with the bacteria that are actually giving you the health benefits.
>no boxing gym around for 30 kms
>don't have the time to take boxing lessons and commute for over a hour back and forth
>alternative is going to kickboxing or muay thai that doesn't interest me at all
I already learned some basic punching techniques but nowhere near perfect, and pretty don't know effective drills. Should I just give up and stop thinking about it or can I teach it myself to some degree?
>>39869851
Go to a gym. Muay thai and kickkboxing are GOAT, btw. If you search for self defense you could also do judo or another grappling sport
>>39869864
I don't care for kicking at all, been to a try-out session with friends who already train there.
There only is a judo gym in range here but I'm not interested in that either. Wrestling would be cool but there's no gym for miles here.
>>39869927
Judo is awesome as fuck. Insane cardio and a great workout all-round. Ne waza (groundwork) randori (sparring) is fucking insane. I highly recommend it anon.
Imagine throwing people around like this!!!

Sup /fit/.
Looking to get some input or suggestions for good workout programs. Ideally something between 8-12 weeks to get back in the game and have a goal to work towards. Nothing very specific or focused on a particular muscle group, Just something to hit my whole body and get back into the game. I'll be doing deadlifts, squats and bench anyway so the program doesn't have to include that necessarily.
Have been lifting all throughout my late teens and early tweens but then work and gf happened and I fell behind for almost three years. Let myself go. Gains are gone now but thankfully not replaced by too much fat.
I tried going back to what I used to do and just sorta make up my own workout programs on the go, but that's a little difficult to pull through when you've been out of the game for so long. Looking for some serious input or suggestions on some nice ad well balanced training programs. Don't try to get me into SS+GOMAD because I ain't falling for that.

candito 6 week
>>39869730
Was considering Candito's routine as well. Seems a little short though, doesn't it? 6x4 workouts will be over in a heartbeat...
Downloaded the pdf and reading it now. thx for the input, keep em coming.
>>39869760
>Seems a little short though, doesn't it? 6x4 workouts will be over in a heartbeat...
those are just work sets and not counting warmup sets. besides, you can do more accessory work if you think you need additional volume
Reminder that the guys who lifts for strength is doing it right.
While you do your bro curls and refuse to squat/deadlift because you're scared you're not making any gains. That guy deadlifting 495? He's big. That guy squatting 365 for reps? He's big. And I bet you say "steroids"
But you're just weak and unmotivated, know that
Stop

I know for a fact the fucker can't squat though. Never once have I seen him touch the squat rack.
what are some good trap exercises? can't seem to grow mine. pic related, my shitty traps

Deadlifts
Bench
Squats
When you get to this point you need to take up a brosplit.
Set a day out for shoulders, do tons of OHPs and Shrugs, at least 15 sets of some kind of shrug.
How does Chad get away with squatting only lmao1pl8 ?
training with lmao1pl8 is all chad needs to bring his squat to 40 kg over your max
>>39869492
>implying anyone here did not manage to squat 1pl8 their first day
>>39869583
I actually squatted 2 plate on my first day... ATG Jason Blahino style
This are the results from ostarine. Experienced no side effects. 14 weeks.

o-ostarine?

SARMS innit? Not natty, babe.
