I think it's a mistake to let going to the gym take over your life, unless you plan on competing. Just like that meme with the cute girl asking you about your hobbies.
Here's what I do:
Train after 9pm when the kids go to bed
Most workouts done in 45 mins, except when I have cardio I do 1 hour stairmaster
I drink protein shakes but just as a quick snack between meals or when I'm in the car
Don't count calories
Diet is just a mix of easy healthy choices, like porridge, avocado tuna and cheese on toast, lean meat with veggies, etc.
Don't eat 8 egg whites every day
Don't take steroids
Routine is a basic PPL
No desire to max out lifts or do 1234, just want to lift decent weight and look reasonable muscular
This is like relaxation for me, and it feels good not to pressure myself too much. My actual hobbies are gardening/home maintenance (learning how to fix things around the house), managing my investments, cooking, and I am starting a web based tech company on the side with a friend.
If you are a young buck who lives for the gym, consider making it a habit instead of a hobby and find something else to do with your time.

Why not

Pain in the ass to make, and not very delicious. I can make oats with frozen berries from a standing start in 2 mins, including a cup of coffee.

But thanks for the wise word and have a good life with your family, you seem like a chill person

So you are a fat girl
>No desire to max out lifts or do 1234
1234 isn't even impressive to other lifters. That's just the minimum standards to call yourself strong
