I life in my basement and would like to go to the gym but its so fucking awkward with sluts showing their abs on istagram and what they had on brekfast. perhaps i am mentaly retarded and cant understand this fucking modern gym thing where you have some fucking classes and instructiors "helping" you with lifting and you must sing a contract for a fucking year so you cant quit. At the moment there is only that modern facility in my city full of normies and people who bullied me back in school days. I just want to go there lift and leave but its impossible

I fucked my finger up pretty bad on the 22ed. I got my finger caught I'm a machine and had 3 stitches and steristrips put on. I've been doing good before then but since the accident plus holidays I've been stalling on lifting since. I went from 273 in July to currently 216 lbs. Am I not gonna make it? I was almost sure I was. I just removed the stitches myself today but it's not healed. I can attempt lifting if I wrap it but it hurts. Anyone have something similar happen?

So you go to ranger school they starve you, you lose like 20 to 40 pounds, and look like a 16 year old hard gainer when you get out and most rebound weight very quickly all in fat around stomach.

Ideally, is it better to get to regular weight to balance out, then cut to lean and bulk back up to old muscle mass, or deal with the insane cravings of losing 40 pounds in 2 ish months and slowly bulking back up to mass?

Beta blockers are a godsend. I take them for interviews and shit I can't afford to mess up. They don't change how you feel so you still feel anxious, but they remove physical symptoms of anxiety. Your heart stops beating fast. This is good but don't take them before working out as your heart rate cannot speed up, and be careful lifting the following day or two. Don't try to run.

Take a paracetamol too, sometimes they give you sore eyes. And don't take them every day.

I am very autistic but I want to get fit. I have a bunch of questions that I would like answered. This may seem like inconsequential shit, but this is the stuff that makes me scared to go.

- Do I arrive at the gym in my regular clothes and change to my gym clothes in the locker room?

- Now I'm in the gym. Do I bring a water bottle, personal towel, and maybe some music? Anything else?

- I'm a bit of a germaphobe. Should I bring a 2nd towel for the sole purpose of wiping down sweat before and after I use something?

- All I have is regular gym shoes. Will I get laughed out of the gym?

- What do I say if someone is using a machine or weight I want to use?

- I'm very inexperienced with free weights. What are some NO-NO's I should know before trying to use them?

- Any other advice for an autist to know before venturing out into scary normie territory?

a)i find it easier to go in my workout shit, throw hoodie on top if its cold, do whatever you want no one will care as long oyu dont lift in fucking winter jacket
b)you dont need either to be honest BUT, all of mentioned is nice. use music that pumps you up to squeeze some extra reps
c)thats overkill, germs, dead skin, chalk are everywhere, even right on top of your skin at this very second. you might want to consult this with someone for serious, you might get strange looks if you get awkward about it, BUT cleaning your sweat afterwards from benches and shit is good
d)no people literally wont care. But for own comfort and performance you might want to avoid running shoes for exercises like deadlift or squat, youtube it for why
e)come up and ask in calm manner if they have many sets left, most of times people wont sit on piece of equipment for longer than 10-15 min in total unless its a squat rack doing heavy squats, so just wait or do something else in between, order of exercises isnt CRITICAL
f)if you want to use free weights the form is most important thing. Youtube is your friend. just search "how to (insert exercise name or muscle group here). Form is CRITICAL on heavy exercises like deadlift, squats etc. acting like a retard WILL send you to snapcity.
Biggest and shortest advice ? Dont rush things, take your time, control your movements.

g)normies wont care about you if you dont bother them, eventually some might ask you something, just dont sperg out, no one is going to hurt you.

Good luck anon, i was trying to get my ass to gym for 2 months and now im lifting for 4 months with fantastic progress. Lifting is great for autists like us.
