They just removed all mascots on food packaging here in my country. Also banned toys and non-edible content aimed to kids (yes, we don't have Kinder eggs anymore). Everybody is fucking angry even though this is needed to fight obesity.
What do you guys think?
NOOOOOOOOOOOO EL PERRO DE CHOCAPIC
>>8359738
>needed to fight obesity
All what's needed is parents to be parents again and actually control their kids.
I noticed it happen to my younger brothers. When I grew up I was ruthlessly told what I could and couldn't have and punished for stepping out of line. My brothers would get a "I can't force him to eat something he doesn't like..." YES YOU CAN.
sounds like a good idea
ITT: Christmas candies / chocolates / snacks you like
Starting with GOAT
>>8358212
cordials are fucking groce dude
>>8358249
I didn't ask for your opinion except to post what you like. No one cares if you don't like what I like. That's what an opinion is.
>>8358274
you said cordial cherries are the Greatest Of All Time, completely undermining mine or anyone else's opinion. they're shit m8.

>I have a workplace potluck to attend

>need suggestions as to what to bring
no you don't
>>8371328
I don't understand :[
>>8371320
>I have a workplace potluck
Yeah ok pal.
So knives are the most important tool for cooking right. What are some good knife sets?
>>8371235
Heat is the most important tool for cooking, then pans, then knives, then a reliable dishwasher.
I'm not your personal shopper, do your own shopping.
>>8371237
nigga just get a cheap mercer chefs knife. if youre asking ceekay what a good "knife set" is then you dont need anything more than that.
Do you guys practice your kitchen skills?
Like, are you constantly trying to find a reason to brush up your knife, saute, sauce, garnish or just knowledge in general?
For me, I just try and do most of the prep at work and attempt to do them in fast and right, and whenever I make a meal with myself I just play with different ways of cooking meals to find if theres any difference in taste,
In general, I'm trying to get faster without losing the quality in the meal
>>8371091
Home is where i dick around with experimenyal stuff i can't do at work. Dishes I've never tried, techniques I've never used, ingredients I've never worked with, flavor combinations I've never done etc. At least sometimes. When you're working a lot sometimes you just want to make your grandma's stew recipe you've made a hundred times and relax.
>>8371113
Yeah, I feel that
I just get this urge of motivation to recreate stuff I seen when I go to restaurants or something I see on tv or online, then make it after with my own twist to see if I can make it better, then keep twisting it and changing it bit by bit until it's either ruined or I feel like its perfect, I want to get into culinary arts so learning, and self teaching myself skills in the kitchen feels beneficial to me
but sometimes i just throw in a pizza pop and just laze around
>>8371133
That's called creativity. Sometime you feel creative and want to fuck around cooking, other times you just feel hungry and want some pizza rolls.
Neither is wrong.
Alternatives to salt and pepper? I have salt and pepper shakers on my table, but what are some other good combos that'll go good with most foods?
I'm friends with a Thai family. They keep sugar, red chili flakes, and vinegar on their table. It's fairly common in Thailand according to them.
Nam pla prik
Shichimi togarashi
MSG
Kewpie
Lao Gan Ma
Furikake
Salt and Pepper

What the fuck do I do with artichokes?
>>8370793
Boil them with salted water and garlic.
Then commit a hate crime.
Throw them in a compost bin and let them rot into mulch, then use that to grow actually edible food
>>8370809
I don't steam them?
Do you drink the soup of Instant Noodle?
I usually drink the soup but seeing how high the sodium levels are should I just eat the noodles and stop?
>>8370689
Slurp that shit
>>8370689
ABSOLUTELY NOT. HALF OF THE RAMEN EXPERIENCE IS DRINKING THE DELICIOUS BROTH AT THE END. IF YOURE WORRIED ABOUT SODIUM THEN RUN A FEW LAPS.
>>8370700
This, if you're worried about your sodium intake then eat something else. Eating a shitload of salt is something you resign yourself to when you eat ramen. It's like worrying about your fat intake when you eat pizza.
If you don't drink the broth you're essentially throwing out half of the meal.
I bought some of this at a Meijer recently. It's got a bitterness to it and I can't find a good food to eat it with. Swedes, what can you do to explain this stuff? I love red peppers and this is mediocre at best. I'm sure it's better homemade.
>swedes
What?
you're supposed to eat it on crusty white bread
that said, its inferior to Italian peperonata in every way
For whatever reason they made an 'merican shelf at one of the supermarkets I go to
I had a look and since then I avoid it like it's some huge fat devil bouncer at the entrance of fat hell where you enter and are immediately drenched in sugar, fat, aggressive marketing/labeling, and your teeth are removed with the solidified cholesterol that you bleed out through your skin
Oh, and I still haven't gotten used to pak choi, even though I've tried it 3 times
If you don't know what these are, I pity you and your inferior Christmas traditions
k
Nice OP, my family always makes chocolate covered burgers too
>>8370414
kill yourself
Is it worth the hour and a half of stirring to do it the old fashioned way?
>>8370252
The answer is still no.
is that that stuff that doesn't taste good?
>>8370267
Doesn't look like any fruit cake I've ever seen
I got some pork chops, gonna make em for the family tonight. Got any simple recipes? Thinking about this
http://www.marthastewart.com/335254/maple-dijon-marinated-pork-chops
Lightly pan fry them in oil & butter.
That's it. Just do that.
>>8370100
pork chops are literally shit.
fucking hate pork my dude.
>>8370117
Calm down Ahmed, you're not in the caliphate here.
Anybody else love eating sardines straight out of the can even though you're worried about what you're biting into half the time spines dirt poop eggs
No.
I eat the whole sardine and like it. Spines, eyes, whatever. It's a delicious snack or a meal and the flavors mask everything.
>>8370066
Fucking niggers gave me shirt for eating these out the can.
Ew they said.
Punk ass bitches don't even know about them proton gains.
Lil bitch ass children.
I'll show them one day.
>>8370066
Nope. I put some herbs and vinegar in there and eat them.
Itadakimasu!!!
Beef bowl udon with fried tofu.
>>8370023
Looks like a bowl of shit.
>>8370023
That's kind of a lot of raw onion anon
>>8370023
Why do weeaboos pretend to like this garbage
Do you ever take bites out of food that are already bite sized?
It irritates me for some reason. Like.. what are you doing, just put it in your mouth.
>>8369868
Once I ate half of a crouton, and threw the other half away. Mom freaked.
>>8369868
Why do you even care?
I can't think of anything more trivial, even within the realm of petty autism that is 4chan
Nah, however I do find it really annoying when people open a 250 mL bottle of beer, drink half of it and don't finish the fucking thing.
