Heat is the most important tool for cooking, then pans, then knives, then a reliable dishwasher.

nigga just get a cheap mercer chefs knife. if youre asking ceekay what a good "knife set" is then you dont need anything more than that.

If you want good knives for a good price never buy a set. They all have the same handle design by necessity, which is idiotic because they are all different sizes, so most knives will be uncomfortable to hold. This also makes the smaller knives, which you use rarely, much more expensive than they need to be, which leaves less money for the large chef's knife, which you will be using 95% of the time. Buy a really good chef's knife, and maybe a really good 10'' bread knife too, and then buy cheap Victorinox Classic or Wüsthof Silverpoint for the rest. No real chef uses a knife set in the kitchen

The grind tells me that they are pieces of crap made from cheap stamped sheet metal with the simplest and easiest to manufacture cutting edge. Then they were buffed on a wheel to make them look all shiny and gussied up.
