Hey /ck/
Tenderloin was recently on sale near me and, being the protein-addicted /fit/ meathead that I am, I bought more than I now know what to do with.
What are your recipes for working with this underrated cut of haram goodness? Normally I stuff it with shallots and mushrooms but I'm looking to try out some new recipes
>>8369614
>sear from all sides
>remove from heat
>add butter+honey+thyme or sage
>put in lowish oven and baste it with the honeybutter from time to time
either take temp or cut into it at some point, it is the best recipe, for me
I just throw it in an oven bag with some spices and eat it with fries/rice/potatoes/whatever I feel like.

Chef John just did a beef tenderloin in a salt crust video, and I'm wanting to try it with pork, because fuck buying a beef tenderloin.
Where can I find very well written gourmet reviews?

Why does duck breast look so ugly when it isn't sliced?
Man, that shit is delicious though.
I'm going to be buying Papa Johns for family later (feel free to suggest a pizza or three toppings if you want)
I have a question. Have you had this? Is it as gross as it looks?
Its gross and tastes like chemical's its changed there is soy in everything and you can taste it... Papa Murphy's or round tables is what you should get but if your cheap get little ceasers its better
"Sausage, onion and peppers. Scientifically proven to be the best toppings."
>>8369135
Tfw you moved away from California to Texas and there's no more round table and Texas doesn't know jack shit about good 'za

Everything is bad to eat/drink nowadays. Everything causes cancer. Even water is bad now. I don't know what to ingest anymore (inb4 dicks, cum, etc). I don't know what to believe or not anymore.
>>8368955
You're going to die no matter what. Stop worrying and just eat what you like.
everything is fine in moderation
just don't overeat
You're not going to enjoy your life more if you cut things out for the sake of safety, so get the damn cancer and die early.
This is not something I'm used to doing to /ck/ but I'm going to ask for a little advise.
One of my co-workers have opted to venture into the world of artisan bread making; he's surprisingly good at it. He's beginning to get orders left-and-right for his breads and apparently needs a little help keeping up with the orders.
I love being in the kitchen, but haven't had the opportunity to do so professionally. I'm beginning to consider offering my help, to which he would offer minimum wage. I already make upwards to $23 an hour so minimum wage is just grunt change to me. But... it's additional money to supplement my income and would be under the table; tax free. My good intentions aside, I'm also pretty strapped for time. From today's conversation he usually preps and bakes for 9 hours once a week to produce the yield for his orders, in-house (work place) and at the farmer's market he's just now beginning to sell his bread at.
Should I take this opportunity to help him and make some money on the side? Or forgo it entirely and spend my time lazing around to browse /ck/ like I enjoy doing? I see both benefits and disadvantages in this scenario. Perhaps you folks can help me make the different and sway my reflection in one direction or the other.
Side note: He's liberal as hell, and I'm conservative as hell. Water and oil. Might not be the best mix, but I'm open to the experience.

>He's liberal as hell, and I'm conservative as hell
Take the opportunity, maybe you'll learn something.
That aside, do you know how to make bread? Is there a trial/training period for you? Can't you just ask him if you can work for a month and see if you're really able to commit the extra time, since it sounds kind of casual?
Learning how to bake bread while making minimum wage part time doesn't sound like that bad of a deal, to be honest.
>>8368575
>do you know how to make bread?
I've dabbled with biscuit making, but loafs of bread itself hasn't come up in my arsenal of cooking yet, so it may actually be a really good learning experience.
>Can't you just ask him if you can work for a month and see if you're really able to commit
I'm not opposed to asking, but I also don't want our work relationship to get funky. It's not like we're really buddy-buddy, but I'm still in a position of what one might consider 'management' of sorts, although his current position still outranks mine. So I really need to take this into great consideration for obvious reasons.
>Learning how to bake bread while making minimum wage part time doesn't sound like that bad of a deal
It really doesn't, which is why I'm strongly considering it.
Sounds great if you have the time for it
The real question is if you're willing to cut your free fucking around time for it
Do you need the money?
Just bought some gnocchi, 500 g . So they arent entirely fresh,
Never did dem be4.
Same as carbonara? Tomatosauce and meatballs?
The fuck do I know!

What are some good uses for instant noodles other than their intended use?
For example: Japanese curry over some Maruchan ramen noodles. I thought they would be a good substitute for rice, and I was right. Not sure what I'll do with the seasoning packet now, though.
>>8367367
I grab a whole brick of them and use it as a sponge to wash dishes. Works like a charm.
>>8367370
Adds flavour too, try it OP
Alton Brown's ramen radiators are pretty god tier.
Mix the seasoning packet with a tub of sour cream for instant, cheap dip.
Is it too late to drive down to McDonald's Drive Thru?
It's almost 1am.
It's Wedensday.
I've drank almost a full bottle of Wild Turkey.
The bulbs on my car headlights have died.
And I'm wearing sunglasses.
naw, never too late for a mcchicken run.

>not boogying down to the nearest mcd's for a mcchiggitychick

Yes it's too late cunt
Go to bed, maccas is a fucking rip off anyway. Stop supporting them.
How does /ck/ feel about whole milk, I drink it almost every day and I was so shellshocked when my friend said he hasn't drank milk in so long that he doesn't even remeber the taste
>>8364853
I don't drink it
I use it almost all my desserts, but a tall glass of milk and a broken yoke sandwich are pretty fair fixings.
>>8364859
Yeah but you at least know the taste or have had some in the past year... Right?

what're you in for?
Going to be visiting Amsterdam at the end of this month,
where should i dine?
>>8362706
Marijiuaners
Reminder these tall jews literally charge for water there.
Also don't go to the 1€ sex shows. it may seem like value for money: It's not
>>8362706
Define 'dine'.
Vlemmincx Sausmeesters has the best fries in town no question.
It's a Dutch tradition to consume copious amounts of sweet pastries during New Years, so look for stands selling Oliebollen, Poffertjes Appelflappen and/or Appelbeignets.
Stroopwafels are also sold by street vendors and incredibly delicious when eaten fresh and piping hot.
As for regular food, I've heard good things about the Bierfabriek, a beer, chicken and BBQ-themed restaurant without a lot of fancy trimmings.
Whenever I'm in Amsterdam I usually just eat Chinese food at the Zeedijk, though. The Chinese food there is usually tip-top and also eaten by actual Chinese people, not the usual take-out trash.
How long does /ck/ boil their eggs for?
9 is best for me, anything over 10 is ruined.
>>8361572
13 minutes
31 minutes
5-6 for me.
Don't like hard boiled eggs unless I'm going to cook them into a gravy, indian style.
Just bought some of this for Christmas because I spent the better part of a year in my law studies on a case centred around Advocaat, never had it before: what am I in for and what should I do with it?
It's great, I love to mix it with lime and salt and add it to my burritos and even sandwiches. It goes bad pretty quickly though so only make enough for one sitting at a time.
>>8369653
The classic cocktail is a snowball, equal parts advocaat and lemonade. It's a nice winter drink.
>>8369653
Just be careful, it tends to stain.
