My boyfriend buys me all of my main pieces. I'm pretty fortunate. I buy all of my blouses and shoes and such and that in itself is too much for my part time job, but I'm also in school so I'm excited to get paid a full salary eventually and be more independent.

Different anon but singles day (11/11) is like the American Black Friday. It's the one day that shops go crazy with sales and you can basically find stuff 50% or more off if you're lucky.

I think last year there were $9.3billion in sales last year?
11/11 is called Singles Day because it started out as a festival to celebrate being single among young people. I'm just guessing but I like to think it's because South Korea turned 11/11 into Pepero Day which became a sort of extra Valentines where you go out and buy Korean pocky and exchange them. Then Japan made Pocky Day on the same day so someone got it in their mind to turn China's 11/11 day into something different and China has a LOT of singles.. thus, it was born.
As for why it's the biggest shopping holiday? Well, it's either because it caught on and retails saw it as an opportunity OR because being single means you sit at home sadly and online shop to make yourself feel better so why the fuck not make it a shopping holiday?

It's so big that most shopping services put out advances notices requiring that you place orders for 11/11 at least two weeks early and even then it's not guaranteed that you'll get everything because everyone saves up orders for that day.
The shops usually start advertising their 11/11 sales weeks in advance and will either show the full price or a 'mystery' price like:

>11/11 Price: 1??.78Y
Where you don't know what you're paying until that day but they can still advertise a big discount. This method though is a bit of a gamble since you don't know if you'll get 43Y off or just 14Y.

Taobao also updates their site so you can search solely for 11/11 deals ahead of time to make your cart lists.

I've already got a cart going for 11/11 with stuff I want to buy and when it gets closer and they start showing sales prices I can go through my cart and if an item isn't on sale, I can just copy+paste the keywords, sort by 11/11 deals, and find a cheaper option!

So stoked to see everyone's coords. Interested in all the vendors, but it's pretty cool that they got Lolita Collective to come out.

This will be my first OTTea, and only my third ever coord. I'm really nervous about it. I'm going with a themed coord that I know is overdone, but it kind of lets me explore coordinating more without fear of fucking it up too badly. Seeing as this is my first kne ever, what can I expect? Is everyone pretty punctual or is it more of a people wandering in and out type of thing? Are people in this comm nice? Do you get ignored if you have a simpler type of coord? Sorry for the silly questions, just feeling a little anxious.

Well I was going to try doing a 'forest nun' sort of theme. I know that sounds stupid but hear me out. Like I have the green nameless poem and I wanted to kind of look like the forest was taking me over, like I'd have ivy and flowers spreading over me. I had 99% of the resources to do this as well and I brought it all to my new college accommodation, which is 4 hours away from my house.

...........but then it turns out I forgot my petticoat.

Dumping.

My last few s/o I met at cons and they were already into it, so it makes my life easier in that sense. In fact I think we met because of the cosplays we were wearing.

Mine wants to cosplay, but most of the stuff I cosplay from doesn't have many guy characters or he's not interested in them, and he seems to gravitate towards male power fantasy characters that he wouldn't really fit into.

Mine's as normie as normie gets, but he's pretty supportive of my cosplaying and has even said he might dress up for photos if I made his costumes and would be willing to go to something like DragonCon. He tried going to a smaller con with me and didn't hate it, but it definitely wasn't for him. But yeah, I'm just happy to be with someone who accepts my weird hobby and encourages me to do what makes me happy.

Working on Tsurumaru from Touken Ranbu! It's been slow going but I'm getting there. Going to uni soon, so that will slow my progress even more... here's most of what I have so far. Not pictured are the shin things (unfinished) and the wig.

I actually play this (the EU version) on a modded 3DS. Some really cute outfit in it. Shame they turned some characters black to be "progressive".
