Oh, and I miss lolita_fucks. And badmakeup. And fanficrants. And McTabby and summary executions. And a whole lot of other stuff that couldn't happen now anyway because we're all too fucking 'sensitive' these days.

But why are people so against using livejournal nowadays? I don't have any issues using it on my cellphone. Instead of a thread like this, why not make a wtf burando post on egl if you miss it so much? Is it a patience issue, because it takes a while for egl to have new posts and comments?

There has already been multiple attempts by nostalgic gulls to bring back LJ, but it never works. Personally, I think people remember the LJ days in heavily rose tinted glasses. The lolcows were better and I think the sales comm was superior to everything we have now for BST, but that's about it. The posts on EGL were mostly pretty cried or boring, save for some useful information and translations.

I hate sewing, but most of that seems to just be because I have a shitty Singer Inspiration sewing machine that jams almost all the time so 50% of my time spent sewing something is spent fixing the machine and unthreading things.

On topic though, I hate sewing trim. I love having trim on things but I don't like the actual process of putting it there.

OP I know you're asking for fat/big guy characters to cosplay, but as a fellow fat guy let me say this first. Cosplay who you want whether they're fat or not. That's what I do. I'm sure many on /cgl/ would disagree with that, but I cosplay for myself not others, but if you feel the need to cosplay fat guys regardless I'll drop you some suggestions here.

I'm a lolita, but the theory still applies. I have completely separate accounts and names for my j-fashion and real life stuff, and I only post pictures of myself on j-fashion accounts if I'm wearing a wig and heavy enough makeup that it wouldn't be easily recognizable as me unless you were looking for it.

My workplace couldn't care less though. My supervisor does art in her spare time and at least one of my coworkers is a huge comic book/videogame geek so the environment is pretty weird to begin with.

I do try to keep my cosplay life separate from my professional life, but when coworkers ask questions about what I'm doing when I get time off for a con I usually just end up telling them. I'm fortunate enough that they think that my cosplaying is really cool! They don't know the alias I use for cosplay so they can't look through all of my photos, but they always ask to see pictures from conventions and get really excited about it.

OP, I'm also a graphic designer, and I think your experience is going to vary depending on where you're looking at working. A creative firm might care less than a corporate entity, depending on who's doing the hiring. Creative fields draw lots of people with unconventional hobbies or interests, so it may be a nonissue even if they decide to Google your name.

I can't find a job because I've done a lot of cosplay as well as nude which is all over the internet and has been spread by many.
Same thing as you, just google my name and it's there.
And I'm not even trying to do anything on a professional level.
A local Sheetz wouldn't hire me due to finding the images then ended up sharing them even more with the co-workers.
I can't even show my face in there anymore.

Can someone give me examples of shit-tier satin and decent-tier satin* ribbons on lolita dresses? Just by looking at pictures, I find it kind of hard to decide whether the used material for ribbons is rather shit or not. I know that decent quality ribbons are not supposed to be shiny. But does this also apply when I take a picture of a dress using the camera's flashlight f.e.? Is good quality sation supposed to be dull regardless from the light used?

All of the ribbon on my AP dresses is shiny like your picture. I don't know about good vs. bad satin but I'm pretty sure all satin is gonna be shiny.
