I'm currently in a mechanical engineering major and I'm having a little dilemma—I've been lying to myself. I used to work in web design and hated every second that I had to spend behind the keyboard. For some reason, I kept telling myself that a job in mechanical engineering would be different, but thinking back, one of my high school teachers actually told me about his experience as an engineer. He was an electrical engineer in a cubical all day behind a computer and catalog of electronic components. He said he hated it so much that he was willing to become a teacher just to get out of the job. I've been pretty down for the last couple of years because I never pursued my interests—I always set them aside to get work done instead. Now though, I see an opportunity to do one of the things that have been on my mind since I was a child; I can be a pilot. I've had a life long interest in planes and aviation in general so it always just seemed attractive to me, but like I said, I never pursued it. I'm financially secure enough to get a pilot's license and plenty of hours in without worrying about a small initial paycheck when I do eventually get a career as a pilot, but I just want to find out what people have to say about this. I'm not all too worried about the paycheck, so long as it helps me to be happy.

TL;DR ME student who's not excited for jobs related to major; should I chase my dreams of becoming a pilot instead?

NEET here, how do I get a job as a telemarketer? Like where would I look for such gigs having no recent or relevant work experience- particularly for the winter holidays hiring time. Based on hours, not commission.

I find personal phone conversations nervewrecking, but I would treat telemarketing as a form of voice acting, I wouldn't tell anyone my real name over the phone, and just play the part excellently.

When I browse other boards, I typically like to post in aggregate threads, or find something semi-on-topic when I ask questions, but there don't really seem to be any here soooo:
There's a girl that I've worked with for about 4 years now, looks a bit like pic related but not quite as big, and we've always had great chemistry. Easy conversation, make each other laugh a lot, not necessarily the same hobbies, but we at least understand each other. I've developed feelings for her in the past year or so, maybe just a hair longer if i'm being 100% honest. I know for a fact she's single too.
We started hanging out outside of work, bowling, food, even saw a movie. She's clearly very comfortable with me. It's all been strictly platonic though. She's in the 3rd year of a four year degree, while trying to work about 30 hrs a week, has no free time, barely sees her friends which sucks.

Five years ago i got tested and the test showed that I supossedly have and IQ of 150.
The thing is that I don't see myself as someone smart, yet I really feel isolated from everyone and really really unmotivated, I feel like if i'm not made for this society in wich dumb people succed and smart ones fail everything.
