Left side is the exercise, right side is the mobility for that exercise, you do mobility after each set

FSAS - Fundamental Straight Arm Strength

the numbers like 5x60s means mastery for the movement, in this case you look at 60s/60rep template and follow that progression, once you hit mastery (can do 5x60s) you move to the next level

for negative movements, 5x5x10s means you descend for 10s each rep

As a guy, would you rather be skinny or a bit overweight?

Not like, as a starting point for fitness. Just say you were an average guy. Would you rather want to be skinny or overweight (not obese, maybe 15-20 pounds overweight)?

As a really skinny guy I think it's better to be slightly overweight. At least you're seen as a man.

I'm wondering if anyone else deals with this:

When I lift, I'll feel perfectly fine, but it takes my heart a long time (hours) to fully settle back to normal afterward. When I run, sprint, or do stair climbs only on days I don't lift, my heart doesn't do the same thing where it takes a long fucking time to calm down as it does after lifting.

And on days where I lift and want to run later on, I can feel my heart want to beat out of sync and will pump faster than it would had I only run that day.

My cardiologist says I'm good, and have had plenty of tests done to confirm that.

So...does weight lifting just effect the heart differently or something? Something my body has to get used to first? I'm only a few weeks into lifting and I'm sort of a DYEL, but I'm fit and healthy otherwise.

Thoughts? Anyone else have this happen?

/r/bodybuilding is pretty decent. It's better than /r/fitness because it's filled with beginner level information and a lot of things that are right get exaggerated and repeated with no thought, leading to a lot of misinfo and group think.

For example, the absolute idea that in order to build muscle you MUST consume excess calories, which is true once you reach low digit bodyfat % and nearing your natty limit. But for most beginner people who have a bunch of fat on them, they can coast along on maintenance.

The board also has information for intermediates and a lot of people who are so used to beginner mindsets are called out from their lack of experience.
