Hey /fit/. this is my first time venturing onto this board, and only because i'm in a bit of a predicament.

Femanon here. I recently decided to start a workout, just a small one, to lose that extra weight and try to get a nicer ass. the workout is as followed:
donkey kicks, 15 reps, 1 set, each side
fire hydrants, 15 reps, 1 set, each side
lying leg raise, 15 reps, 1 set, each side
dumbell squats with an 8 pound weight, 10 reps, 3 sets
squat side kicks, 10 reps, 3 sets
as well as 25-50 sit ups which i've been doing for five days now.
however, instead of the desired result of a fuller butt, I'm starting to get those dancer's dents, which is killing me considering my butt was pretty flat and pathetic already. am i doing something wrong? any better workout suggestions? thank you!

Get under a barbell and do ass to grass squats 5x5. Do nothing else and your ass will grow. If you don't want it to be flabby and jiggly, determine how many calories you need to have to lose weight and eat slightly under that. like 100 calories and you will get the results you want.

no gains. don't do every set to failure or your subsequent sets will suffer and overall volume will be much lower. take a day to figure out your maxes and do 70-80% of that for each set, 4-5 sets each.

unless you're just starting out, in which case just about any exercise will have linear progression anyway.

No gains. You build muscle while resting, and muscle synthesis happens for about a day and a half post lifting. Training every day will improve form but not muscle.

1 bowl of brown rice + 1 baked chicken breast + 1 bowl of spring mix

If none of of the ingredients have "phenyl" in the name (aspartame), then there's really nothing wrong with it. All diet sodas used to have it, but some don't now.

In terms of nutrients, it's not actually that bad. It's just that it's too easy to overeat, and when you're not bulking, you're gonna go fat. Sodas are bad no matter what though, since it's just liquid sugar.

I just bought a barbell & plates set, and next pay I'm going for a bench.

I work pretty crazy hours, and when you come off an 11pm-7am nursing shift the last thing you wanna do is hit the gym, so I'm pretty hype that soon I'll be able to tell them to fuck off for good.

Anyone got any tips and tricks? Must-have items? SHOULD I drop the gym membership completely? Or should I maybe stick around for classes or something?

Go for a power rack next, then adjustable bench. After that basically just stock up on weights and maybe dumbbells.

I have a homegym and love it. I would suggest getting a power rack. You'll be able to lift heavy and safely. Also it'll let you do weighted pull ups, and you can get a dip attachment.
