Pretty much this. There have been so many great franchises on Sony consoles that they just threw away for no reason. If they sold poorly or something I could understand, but no they were all quite popular.

Look at Wipeout for example, great racing series that was popular as hell thrown out for no reason.

Nothing special, probably Lotus on Amiga but because my own retard. I've been really interested in games for japanese computers but I'm sure I'll have a hard time setting them to work

I have one. Controllers are shit, none of the games are better than their releases on other platforms. Disc drive belts fail too.

Emulated vidya will have issues since most of the time the engine knows to cull polys from the normally non-viewable area. Rogue Leader on Nintendont does this. Looks very silly, but is still impressive given how efficient they were.

Yes. RE 1-3, Gran Turismo/Ridge Racer 3-4/NFS3, Wipeout series, Syphon Filter, Silent Hill, Tomb Raider, Crash/Spyro/Ape Escape/CTR, Time Crisis/Point Blank, the best Harvest Moon, Tomba, THPS1-3, Oddworld, Diablo, Warcraft 2/Red Alert/Dune, Devil Dice/Kula World, pretty good port of Doom, PaRappa.

Any game can be reduced to it's most basic premise if you phrase it like that; Ocarina of Time ("dude time travel lmao") or Panzer Dragoon Saga ("dude dragons lmao"). Pretty ignorant way of thinking as you miss out on a lot of good games like that.

Resident Evil, Crash, Spyro, Tomb Raider, Gran Turismo, Wipeout, good selection of lightgun games, just to pick a few off the top of my head.

PS1 was one of the best consoles of all time. Growing up in Russia obviously left you with bad taste in games.

just get some replacement batteries with tabs already on them, desolder the old one, and solder the new one in place. pretty easy overall.

I just threw it in there with tape to hold it in the right spot and let the force of the cartridge halves hold it all together.

Lazy and shitty but it seems to work fine. No more lost saves, and I subjected it to plenty of bumps and drops and clatters without any issues. Lastly I used a sony battery, no china here. I think we'll be juuuuuuuuust fine.

Search for the ones you want to delete in Windows explorer and delete them. IE search for (France) then hit ctrl+a and delete. Or (proto) (Germany) etc etc.

Keep only the newest ones (rev a instead of plain, v1.1 instead of plain, plain instead of prototype, etc).

that's good advice. i forgot to say that the romsets i downloaded are the no-intro ones for NES, SNES, Genesis and Turbografx. Any extra advice?

An N3DS is better, but it's more expensive, doesn't have that based PS1 compatibility and is harder to hack (anything is, really).
