What are some good old fashion rpg games where I have to write maps and write down things. Kinda specific I know, but I want to try something a bit different.

Hey guys, just picked this up at the flea market. What do you think of it?

My friends and I were playing it and my one friend said he was going to jump far-
And we all thought he was going to say fart! And so we laughed and laughed! It's was so funny!
And then my other friend accidentally hit the 'no' continue button instead of 'yes'. Then we stopped playing.

Joe & Mac is pretty cool.
Played the arcade game and had the NES version, which was actually quite good, all things considered. It has one of the best parallax effects I've seen on NES games.

Joe & Mac 2 is also good, less talked about than the original. I think it did co-op better than the first one.
>>
The continue system is bugged. Randomly won't let you continue and you don't even have to select no. Sucks man.

>Joe & Mac 2 is also good, less talked about than the original. I think it did co-op better than the first one.

Being able to select the stage you wanna play makes the game very comfy.

Does an adapter exist for using a sega saturn pad on a playstation? I specifically want to use the saturn 3D controller.

unless it can be custom made. otherwise your best chance would be to find a cord to hook it up to a PC and map the controller to a playstation emulator
>>
>>3384112
I wanted to use it on real hardware, PSX and PS2. I guess I could look into customs.
>>
I have one but it doesn't work that well.

This isn't the first time you kill dogs.
>>
>>3383575
Actually eating dogs was always seen as pretty desperate/shameful by the Japanese, who admittedly have no problem eating whales and adorable racoons.

You're probably thinking of Koreans and Chinese and basically every other shitty southeast asian country.

I'd like it more if I could actually see shit. It's a technical marvel for '96, but fuck me getting shot at by two pixels that I mistook for a teammate is not fun.

Also the cutscenes are cornball fests.

Can anybody help me out? I'm trying to get my game on with the DOS mode on my Win98SE PC, but whenever I load a DOS game it loads up and immediately goes to a black screen. I've tried it with Might and Magic 3 and with the 1989 freeware port of Mille Bornes. This happens whether game runs in DOS prompt through Win98 or if it reboots to DOS mode. The video feed isn't being ended though, the monitor light still stays green and no sleep mode occurs. Anybody know why this would be happening?

If you're launching from inside of windows, could be the case. Some DOS games didn't like to play nice with the video and sound cards if windows was running at the time. May need to boot right in to dos.

But my real suggestion is to just run the game in DOSBox on a modern PC. 99% of the time it just werks. No tweaking or fucking around.
>>
oh yeah, I'm using a P4 processor, nvidia geforce 200 MX on AGP, and a gateway onboard sound card (because I can't seem to get any sound card to work on it).
>>
>>3382887
Yeah, that's true. I just especially want to run them on a classic hardware setup if I can.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but anyway.

How could Nintendo give a green light to a console which literally gave a headache to the players? Did they even conduct product testing? I guess 9 out of 10 people would say Virtual Boy was simply hard on the eyes, not to mention red/black palette simply looked like atrocious.

>>
>>3382812
I finished Wario and Vertical Force, I never had a headache.
>>
>>3382820
But what about the red palette? How did it feel taking the thing off after several hours of play?
>>
>>3382832
-It's red.
-Nothing.

Does anyone on /vr/ follow the Atari Jaguar? It might've been a commerical flop but it seems to have a huge homebrew following these days, and a flexible, unofficial API that homebrewers use to make games. Not sure how I haven't seen this until now, it even has a European festival.

I have an nes emulator for wii... and it scrolls really bad and is blocky... most know what this means and why this happens, but does anyone know how to fix it or is there just no good nes emulator for wii?

>>
>>3381278
what emulator are you using? FCE ultra runs NES games perfectly on the wii.
>>
>>3381341
it runs perfectly but it is blocky when it scrolls.. it has a filter and when that's turned on it seems to smooth it out nice enough and from far away you can't notice it's filtered... but without the filter you can notice it's blocky
>>
>>3381397
Just tell us which goddamn emulator you're using. If it's not FCE, then switch to FCE. Problem solved.

What neat little doodads do you have for your systems? Like the Super Gameboy or the 32X. I just got these little speakers for my Genesis. They work okay, but the driver is a bit worn. Does anyone know what kind of drivers these use? I'm looking to fix it.

>>
>>3381245
Look for something with identical size and impedance (Ω). Nice speakers.
>>
>>3381251

I'm also asking because I'm not sure if using more recent drivers would be too much for it.

Pick up Bill and Ted for NES, and goddamn if it's not a pretty cozy game. Basically wander an interesting landscape, looking for people and items. Nothing fancy or tricky; perfect for a hangover day. But it looks like it reviews poorly; what am I missing?
