Why nobody translate Bushi Seryuden ??

Because it's just as of the last 5-7 years fan translators have finally gotten themselves over re-translating FF4&6 for the 20th time.
>>3796150
Why is there so fucking many translations for FF games anyway? The ones that are totally literal translations have no charm to them at all, there's no personalities for the characters.
Do people like this?
Hey guys, i dont know if I should ask /g/ about this but since I know many people here have one and use it for emulation purposes I might as well ask here.
What's a good setup for a raspi 1 model B? I don't know what revision I have so it's either 256mb ram or 512mb. Do I put in RetroPie? Or some other emulator? Up to what can I run with the model 1? I've heard of people overclocking the CPU a bit to run games more smoothly, should I do this? Thanks
>>3795231
Use retropie as your OS.
I'm not sure how well the pi 1 runs because I use a pi 3, but I would say as long as you stick to the 16 but era and earlier you should be fine. You shouldn't need to do any overclocking or anything. If you need more horsepower just buy a newer raspberry pi, theyre the same price.
Mine will emulate the ps1 perfectly, as well as mame roms that are roughly contemporary with the 32/64 but era. N64 emulation kinda works but not really (no surprise there). Tg-16 and pc engine games work but getting the bios and cue files to work are a pain.
Inb4 that insecure anon comes in calling it a memeberry with redditpie and calls anyone who uses them 'kids'
>>3795231
I wouldn't go above 16 bit with the rpi1 if that. Even with overclocking, which you shouldn't do unless you set up some sort of cooling for it, you will run into issues.
The rpi3 runs PSX with no issues, even when not overclocked in my experience
What are the best S-Video cables available for Sega Dreamcast? I don't want to get ripped off by a shitty one.
Go with vga.

Son...
To answer your question, it probably is best to open the console and add an s video jack by tapping the av multiout.
Then you can run any cable you like.
Pin one is ground. Pins 11 and 12 are chroma and luma.
Run separate audio...pins 2 and 3.
Use shielded wire.
This is the best s video cable you can get for your dreamcast...
What's more powerful - a Raspberry Pi 3 or a Retro Freak console?
>>3793721
your pc
I'll need to ask my wife's son.
He doesn't allow me to play video games anymore.
>>3793721
As is often the case apples aren't exactly more or less powerful than oranges. The higher clock speed of the Retro Freak would give it an advantage where as the extra two cores in the memeberry will do little if nothing for emulation. So Retro Freak by a nose.
Underrated N64 games thread?
>>3791987
If you listen to /vr/ this is actually true.
Unfairly shat on for being "generic" and not having substantial single player content even though fighting game fags normally don't give a shit about this stuff anyways. Sadly the dev would later make a sequel specifically to address these concerns which made it ridiculously garish and include a board game style minigame that was a chore to go through
>>3791972
Mario 64.
>nighttime is literally the same screen as daytime but with less bright
Talk about being lazy.
Why people love this game so much again?
>>3791838
That's...kind of how nighttime works, Anon.
No, but seriously, blue screen filter= nighttime, it's a common media trope.
>>3791843
Not OP, but it's still lazy.
It's use in movies can be distracting, too, and often takes a good eye to hide it. The first scene that comes to mind that hid it well was a scene between Aaron Eckhart and Maggie Gyllenhaal in The Dark Knight where they stand outside of a theater.
While a dark filter over everything is correct in theory, why does the sky not look any different? Where's the stars or moon? The background is missing atmosphere.
>>3791838
because people played it exclusively for the night filter.
Who's has better story, Rena or Claude?
Also feel free to discuss Star Ocean, Star Ocean 2, or any other Tri-Ace games.
I'll always prefer playing rena because I'm not much of a fan of claude
but I'd say rena has a better story because claude's entire story is "everyone likes me because my dad saved the universe", whereas rena actually has a super mystery
but man the beginning-salva mines and the lacour tournament are pretty sloggish
also I really liked the PSP versions of both 1 and 2blue sphere translation when
>>3791607
Claude gives you the full perspective, so story wise it goes to him.
>>3791607
Go with Claude's part, since its so much better. You miss out on Dias and the furry kid but they're both shit desu.
You can also steal battle armor on the Calnus.
I'm new to retro FPS such as Doom and Quake, so I have no idea why are the gameplay is much more faster than what I am used to with Call of Duty and Battlefield. Is it because of the weapon, the lack of cover, the level design, or something else?
Fun was more important than realism.
>>3791215
Literally everything. The games were designed from the ground up to be that way.
Instead of having a run button and needing to stop for breath every 30 seconds you just constantly run. And instead of having regenerating health, so you hide behind cover every 30 seconds, you just have a decent amount of jealth with more dotted around the level. Also you can hoard all the guns you want.
Try to convincel me omanyte isn't the cutest pokemon ever made.
Pro tip: you can't
>>3790741
It's the happiest Pokemon ever and it doesn't even have hands.
Now imagine if it did have those, how happy would it be then?
I just love Wooper with all of my heart, I still can't fathom the fact that Game Freak made a thing this cute.
>>3790741I miss the old Pokemon anime, I mean, I still like the recent games (like Sun/Moon) but something about the old anime from gen 1~2 was pretty great/comfyThe gen 4 anime was the most close one to reproduce that feel, but not 100% of the time.
What's so good about FF Tactics?
>>3788797
Great AI, great battle system, awesome soundtrack, a good storyline, and the beloved FF job system. It's just a great game overall.
Difficulty though, it's very easy to break and multiple abilities are just flat-out broken with how strong they are. Blade Grasp and Hamedo being two massive offenders, and Calculator can be rigged to win the majority of fights on move 1.
The game is hard as balls your first playthrough but easy as fuck once you learn how to break it. Weird difficulty curve.
Only played the gba version, is the ps1 game better?
Just finished this for the first time & was blown away. Immediately want to play it again. What should I play next? Is Mother 1 worth a go? Any similar RPGs for a pretty casual player?
>>3787096
>Any similar RPGs
Literally any Dragon Quest game.
>>3787098
Thanks! I've heard good things about Dragon Quest, if it's similar to Earthbound I'm sure I'll enjoy it! :)
>>3787096
Mother 1 is pretty good, but not everyone can get used to the style and gameplay of a NES RPG. Mother 3 is also a fantastic entry.
As for other games that a more casual player would like, I definitely recommend you to play Super Mario RPG.
Walking past some manchilds huddling around an LCD taking turns on what they called "Marry-o" I struck up a conversation with the only woman there.
"So, what's your favorite PC-98 game?"
"Oh, um, I really liked Myst!"
>>3779165
What kind of "university" has gaming clubs, let alone retrogaming ones? I thought universities were institutions of higher learning and not places of entertainment? Is it a Murican thing?
>>3779165
What a faggot. Tip your fedora elsewhere. I am into retro games, and I haven't played every fucking platform
>>3779171
In america we have fraternities and parties for social interaction. For everyone with autism or other social disorders we have clubs like the one OP joined.
I too can cherrypick

Fucking hell, could you at least have read the last thread before posting? It's been ages since rctmart died, it's been pointed out in every thread and yet every fucking OP have failed so remove the dead link. It's not that fucking hard and it should be common sense to check the links you're about to repost.
are those board worth anything or is it just trash /vr/?
Yes, they have value. Some people (myself included) collect bare arcade PCBs and play them in a cab or with a Supergun. Not sure what board it is off the top of my head; I thought maybe a World Warrior or Final Fight, but it doesn't seem to match either of those.
That being said, that particular board looks to be shot to shit. I wouldn't even try testing it in that state since some parts look rusted. Might seem a bit more hopeful if it were cleaned up, but I'd be amazed if it was anywhere close to working. Someone might by it as-is for parts or potential repair, but I wouldn't expect much at all for it. If you were somehow able to get it working, it could of course be worth a decent amount, depending on the game.
