Amiga 500 is the best version overall. FM Towns has excellent visuals and the best music but has major hitbox issues.

The PS4 remake is alright.

What do you think of Tsumi To Batsu? I think it's too overrated. The story was awful; I couldn't even tell what was going on because of the low-quality vocals, choppy animations and lack of context. Despite that, the game developers were obviously trying to put an emphasis on story because there were so many cut scenes. They gameplay was OK at best, I've played much better shooting games. What is it that gives this game such a good reputation?

Y'know, I don't think the story's actually THAT hard to follow. Vocals sounded fine to me.

And if you want the gameplay to be at it's best you're gonna have to play through the whole thing a few times on a higher difficulty each time. Yeah it's bullshit but consider it training for the real deal.
>>
>>3798619
Sequel is better.
>>
It's just delicious gaming excess.

Stuff to shoot, points to rack up, the whole on-the-groundness lending itself well to avoiding stuff and simple platforming, the soundtrack sounding like a guy masturbating with a synth and jizzing forth tuneless garbage that SOUNDS AMAZING cus you're blowing shit up to GET BONUS.

Playing a lot of Treasure games you just accept dudes CAN turn into giant mechs and defend Earth from missile attacks fired by creepy lolis. I think the weirdest thing in this game is the character designs. Everyone has this lifeless look to them, and the skinny, polygonny characters look quite stylish.

I do prefer this one to 2, which while good, was more Space Harrier than Wild Guns. Jumping requires more creativeness than flying.

I want it to be 3D and and I want to work under retro limitations.

Is there an engine of choice here or do I have to work from scratch?

There's games still being made for old systems. Homebrew.

What's the most OP hero type?

So far the Paladin seems good since she can heal herself, but I only just started playing yesterday.

I always used the paladin for the parry save.
>>
>>3796675
Overall? It's definitely Paladin.
There's also usual fantasy trope - if you can Wizards/Dark Priestesses to level up a bit, then they become very powerful.
But I think Paladin can take anything head on, even those two above.
>>
Yup, definitely Paladin.

I dont think I've ever fully beaten this game come to think of it, some of the later missions are super rough and the Northern Expansion is brutal.

What language do they speak in this? It seems to shift between some fictional language and Japanese at different times.

Is this present in the earlier games in the series too?

I believe it was Latin, Russian, and maybe Japanese.

In Saga, they sometimes use the "Panzerese" language, but most of the time it seems like they just said 'this is too fucking hard' and used Japanese.

how could you guys get this so wrong? they only use the special panzer language in the FMVs, but other than that they speak japanese.

What version of this game should I play?
It was developed in Australia, does that mean the PAL version is best?
There's also an American beta version with apparently less censorship.

Either the American beta or the Japanese version. The Jap version is basically the American beta but with some extra content and some slight control/cosmetic differences.

All the text in the Jap version is in English btw so you don't need to worry about a language barrier if you go with that one.
>>
>>3792970
The Megadrive one, since it's the best one.

Have played both AU/EU and US Beta versions.

Don't know about the jap version, and I'm probably wrong here, but wasn't the only difference between the Aus/EU retail Shadowrun cart and the US beta just a bit of editing to one dialogue box?

The EU retail version of the dialogue in pic related says 'morgue' instead of 'chop shop'.

My mother was convinced that things were worthless without all of their packaging intact. I wasn't even allowed to put the stickers on my Transformers because it destroyed the sticker sheets and ruined the toy.

I got over that conditioning over the years, but there's still some old stuff from my childhood clinging to its packaging. I bet the boxes to my NES and Super NIntendo are still in the huge sea of boxes in her basement.

Mom has a problem.

I know Xbox outputs 480i instead of 240p like the Wii and PSP but aren't there Arcade and N64 games which run in interlaced mode that would be suitable for this?

Isn't there a service menu hack to force Trinitron CRTs into 240p?

Are there any systems that Xbox can emulate better than Wii or PSP?

Does the Xbox have weakness emulating certain systems (like Arcade on Wii or SNES on PSP)?

How does Xbox emulation accuracy compare to the Raspberry pi?

What are the best aftermarket controllers and arcade sticks to use with the Xbox?

Can you play music ripped from CDs onto the harddrive to use as the soundtrack for emulated games?

What are some neat things the Xbox can do that the Wii and PSP can't do?

>>
Well, the Xbox is somewhat more powerful than a Wii but only slightly. The Wii has numerous advantages to make up for it. Besides its very smooth switching between various video modes it also has SD and USB ports onboard with no additional fabrication required. It's physically smaller. It has wireless controller option and wifi. There are more controller options. Also and this is key it's somewhat easier to mod for beginners. Also, you get native compatibility with both Gamecube and Wii libraries.
>>
>>3796540
The Xbox can run in 720p, if you want something LCD compatible.

...
A derailment. Is there a youtube series that reviews and compares emulation machines? Like, something that covers all of OPs questions? I think it would be interesting.
I daydream of making one myself, but I don't have the voice, equipment, or space for it.
>>
>>3796557
Not OP but I thought the Wii is practically the same as the Gamecube? I thought there was a gap between it and the Xbox.
