It's the happiest Pokemon ever and it doesn't even have hands.

I miss the old Pokemon anime, I mean, I still like the recent games (like Sun/Moon) but something about the old anime from gen 1~2 was pretty great/comfy

The gen 4 anime was the most close one to reproduce that feel, but not 100% of the time.

Absolutely. Snap + the Orange Islands anime arc were the Pokemon glory days as far as I'm concerned. Someone convinced me when I was 8 that I could evolve a Ninetails in this stage. . .

But second generation was literally perfect. It is the evolution you would expect from pokemon 1. The things the game added were justified. If you played gen 1, you would understand why gen 2 was the way it was.

They're pretty damn close. Wooper is precious and quagsire is one of the few evolutions that keeps the cuteness of its prevo but still feeling like a evolution.

This is correct, the actual concept is that of a jewish golem. The ghost type comes from how golurks are relics of a now dead race and they simply roam containing their purpose of protecting people and pokemon. They're like the laputa robot.
