The moon is a fast moving subject and when zoomed in that close motion is far more noticeable due to the parallax effect. Try for at least 1/450th shutter speed.
Your depth of field is very shallow and the moon is very large and spherical. You need to stop down 3 stop or more. I'd say f/11 is your best bet.
Adjust your white balance. The moon isn't made of cheese.

Terrible advice all the way around.
>>2890469
Go away, you retard. You seem to know nothing.
All my shots on my roll of SFX 200 Infrared are equally overexposed and look like this.
I had the ISO set 200 and was shooting aperture and shutter accordingly.
My equipment:
Nikon Nikkormat FT ( Lightmeter was dead for these so I used an app)
Hoya 25a Red
Rotating Polarizing Lens rotated to where the sky was darkest.
Here's one I digitally rebalanced. They're supposed to be very dark due to the nature of the film.
This is my ideal exposure.
How much should I adjust exposure?
A few more for reference
>>2889842
These are all after being digitally remastered. All of the scans are overexposed like the first picture posted.
The Sony a7rii is overpriced.
Why would I get that when I can get a 5dmk3?
Pls explain.
>>2889459
You don't
>>2889459
Because it has 42.4 megapickles, and is mirrorless. Not that any of that really matters.
The true reason is canon is for cockboys.
>>2889459
>thinks a7rii is overpriced
>then asks why they should get that over a camera they don't think is overpriced
nigger you are fucking stupid or what? nobody is holding a gun to your head forcing you to buy the sony. if the canon looks better to you go for it.
jesus some of y'all on this board are dense motherfuckers...

i got into film photography a few months ago and i have a few shots i think are acceptable ( out of 7 rolls .. yeah i know that kinda sucks )
all of them have been developed at some local labs and scanned home with my a plustek 7200 i got for 40 bucks
i've lost some of the negatives so i can't always tell you what film i used but i can tell what camera/lens
(pic related is portra 400)
PS : i got a fuckton of particles and dust on my negatives because i'm fucking messy

Is the x100 still a good camera? I'm thinking about buying one later on this month (used). Also is it a good camera for someone who wants something a step above a smartphone without the bulk of a dslr?
>>2888959
yes, but i would save a bit more and get a used x100s
>>2888959
Yes. Love mine. But. It's really nothing like a smartphone at all - none of the automation like face detect that you might be used to.
Buy it for the way it renders images (and size, silence, looks) Also 100s is different sensor, so different rendering. No real advances in usability.
The 100t is where the tech took a quantum leap.
I'm in a similar situation as OP.
Right now I shoot digital with my iPhone 6s and analog with my Contax T2 but I want a dedicated camera for digital photography.
X100, X100S, X100T or wait 'til Photokina and a possible announcement of the X200?
Why do I see so many people using Canon EOS DSLR's for video? From the cheaper T6i up to the more expensive 7D Mark II, they all can only do up to 30fps 1080p footage. That's kinda shitty considering there are other, even cheaper, Mirrorless/DSLRs doing 4K and/or 60fps video, such as the Panasonic G7, and the Sony Alpha a6300.
It just seems like the Canon EOS series are pretty "standard" DSLR film cameras when spec-wise, they're very lackluster.
Is there something I'm missing here as far as appeal for film?
>>2888457
L lenses?
>>2888457
5d2 was a landmark in our field.
Canon is well known for holding back progress and making you pay dearly for things "only a professional" would want.
Others are catching up.
What's your fucking point?
Battery life?
Maybe they also shoot pictures with it and just do video because they can do that without getting another camera for that
Who knows?
Hi /p/. Doing my first exhibition soon and need advice on printing in the UK. Need to find a good balance between quality and price. (top quality = unaffordable). Any other tips from experienced photogs about exhibition much appreciated.
Uploading some pics that will probably be used in the exhibition

DSCL are pretty good balance between quality and price.
Just don't order any of the heavyweight papers they use for their fine art prints, they have no clue what they're doing about handling them.

I know a thing or two. thing #1 is to resize images, thing #2 is not to act like a wanker if you have not-great photos
I like to photograph at night, and usually I'd have not one worry about roaming around at night.
But, strolling around with 700$ of shit that's clearly visible on you is a bit worrisome.
I shat myself twice last night, I was alone in a park and a group of 8 dudes started coming towards me and 2 of them enabled their phone flashlights and started flashing at me.
And the other time I was near a playground and heard someone cough very close by. There was a creep in a hoodie under a tree just standing there like 7 meters away from me and staring at the empty playground. Couldn't see him because it was pitch black in his area.
Wat do?
>>2885592
Move?
>>2885592
I guess it's the inherent risk in night photography. I like to roam around at night, too.
The good thing is, because you're braver than most photographers, you'll get more unique shots.
Use less expensive equipment, or buy mace.

So basically I know nothing about cameras and was hoping you pros could help me out.
My cousin and I want to start a Youtube channel about our adventures in urban exploring to show our family and whoever else would be interested.
We are looking for a camera that is durable and can handle rough environments but still record in 720p+ We are hoping to spend less than $250. I looked into gopros but they don't seem like the right tool for this job. All advice is appreciated
how is a gopro not the right tool for this job? with your budget it's gonna be pretty hard to get decent video quality out of a DSLR or mirrorless camera
>>2891247
I guess I just thought they were more for fast paced shit. Which one would you recommend?

Hey everyone! I'm dating a wonderful girl who is going to school for professional photography. Her birthday is coming up and I want to surprise her with a macro lens. I myself know how to take a decent photo, but I'm completely new to buying cameras or other equipment. She has a Nikon D610, and any recommendations or advice is greatly appreciated.
Aside from the request, I'm gonna open the thread up to a general discussion about macro and/or telephoto lenses: pros and cons, favorites, stories, etc.. Pictures of either extreme are encouraged. I don't own a macro lens, so my pic's as close as I can get while maintaining quality.
>>2890930
>I myself know how to take a decent photo,
This reads really weird in the middle of all that. Like those context exercises in primary school where you have to identify the sentence that doesn't belong.
>>2890942
She's not dating me for my English prowess, or lack thereof.
>>2890930
Why would someone who is
>going to school for professional photography
need a macro lens?
They are fun for two weeks and won't be used ever again unless macro subjects are your hobby. What does your girl shoot for a living?
