Which should I get as first camera?
>>2882827
>M43
This is absolutely disgusting. M43 is the absolute worse format in the history of cameras. There is absolutely no value in them. Noise on those sensors is unbearable. Also why would you buy a 12 megapixel camera in this day and age? 12 megapixels is barely good enough for a post card.
>>2882856
:^) you're a confused fellow

Just get the A6000 and be done with it.

No.

I don't see how he could be
Unless in the case of someone has made film as good as it can be however digital media will keep on evolving and hasn't reached its true potential yet
So I haven't been here for months... did the /p/ photo book ever get made or were our images stolen and used for personal profit elsewhere?
BAMP cause i also want to know
It never happened, and I sincerely iggy is out making money off of your pleb tier snapshits. He just took on more than he could handle (once again) and let us all down.

>literally could have been done over a weekend or two
>half a year later still hasn't been done
Why doesn't that fuck send photos to someone else then? Hell I'd do it just to get it done.
Just a teen who's into photography. Tips and advice would be appreciated.
Also idk current ig name is shit so ideas would be cool.
OP is clearly underage and B&.
This is a +18 site, keep it in mind

just buy any of them nigger for cheap on craigslist. seriously, either a trustworthy om10 or any other film that aint busted. make sure the metering works. thats all folks
The EM is a good little camera, but for most people who want to shoot film cameras in 2016 are doing it to enjoy solid metal cameras and full manual controls, and the EM is a plastic camera that's aperture priority only.
If you really really love film and just want something small and light to shoot it with, the EM is a good option, but otherwise you'll probably have better luck with an FM or FE or something. It's also not a good choice for photography classes, because most of them require a full manual camera.

Kind of
It's more of an investment than anything else, doesn't take special photos or anything
Just a solid asset
hi /p/, I was hired in my uni as the photographer for an organization. They are going to pay me by the hour. So far they want me to take pictures at events and go to their center and take pictures of everyday stuff. The problem is it's kind of hard to spend more than 1 hour at the center taking pictures the days they don't have any events. So I'm roughly working 1 hour a day.
Any ideas on how to fill up more time there so I get some more cash?
>>2886836
>and take pictures of everyday stuff
come on dude
come on
you can get 4 hours per day without question EASILY
pick your shots carefully and make them count. Earn your pay and you should be able to stretch it right out.
>>2886836
take your shots and just hang about doing fuck all in between, cant turn down getting payed to do nothing
also do your editing on their time too
how do they get this... I've noticed a swarm of these orange/black like photos.. but I can not achieve these looks.Any thoughts?
https://www.instagram.com/p/BH6JPvXAHM5/?taken-by=moodygrams&hl=en
In Lightroom you could probably achieve that in a few seconds with the HSL tool. Turn the saturation to zero for every color except orange.
I assume photoshop has the same thing but I don't remember where it is or what it's called.
as above said, saturation down on every colour except your desired colour (orange)
then if there is any other orange parts select them with the selection tool and make them black and white too
there is a better way to do this with masks and you just brush over everything you want made black and white with the brush tool, but you can youtube that yourself
can be done in photoshop or lightroom
Tnx guys.I'll try harder.
How hard is it to get into Paparazzi Photography? And realistically, how profitable is it?
Have any US anons tried it out? It seems like it would be a bit of fun.
most paparazzi is staged photoshoots so it is not difficult to actually track people down
you will probably earn more doing other photography
>>2886609
Paps are like a mafia, good luck getting in and selling your photos if you're not connected. There are hundreds of illegals from Mexico running around Beverly Hills armed with a Canon 5dmIII and L series glass, as shown in OP's pic related. If you're starting from scratch, I calculate a person would need at least $25,000 for equipment plus a decent car and enough savings to cover six months living expenses. By then, you should have enough photos in the pipeline to either be making good money or have come to the conclusion that it's not worthwhile.
Pro Tip: helps to habla espanol or fala portugues if you want to get in with the spics and brazilian paparazzi mafia.
>>2886609
I have a few friends doing it in SoCal
It's frequently staged as agents will tip off paparazzi for appealing photos of their clients
It doesn't pay that well, it's competitive, good pocket cash, most paps have part time jobs because major media providers will pay you maybe a couple hundred for a photo, and small tabloids will pay you maybe 15$
Paps make shit money unless they're directly working for a media provider or are frequently liscened
Working event photography like red carpet or film screenings where celebs show up pay much more.
I got a new lens today.

Recently started using a 35mm Canon Sureshot, very basic camera, I just like the effect it gives, reminds me of when I was younger. Its sometimes nice to tone down from the crystal clear photos taken from DSLR's.

Why are there no exact crop format equivalent of the classic 50mm standard lens these days?
50mm / 1.5 = 33.3mm
Primes only come in 30mm or 35mm which equals 45mm or 52.5mm on a crop format digital camera.
Why isn't an inexpensive but fast and good 33mm prime included with DSLRs like in the good old days?
>Why isn't an inexpensive but fast and good 33mm prime included with DSLRs like in the good old days?
Because the starter kit lenses are seen as more pragmatic. And they are in most cases.
I agree that it's disappointing, but why exactly are you wishing for the precise focal scale? What DSLR do you use?
Most 50mm lenses aren't even 50mm on the nose, especially as you focus closer, so it's not like those extra 2mm or so make a difference.
You don't see 33mm primes packaged with crop bodies anymore because computer aided design has made cheap kit zooms practical and easy to manufacture. A zoom is more useful to amateurs, and since they are far and away the biggest customers of crop, it's what gets included in the kit.
Well if you want a standard lens (check wikipedia) that's a 43mm on full frame. So getting a 30mm for your crop puts you a little closer to ideal.
hi /p/
lately i've been reading a lot about galaxy and astronomy and i like to try some amateur stargazing too.
did any of you guys tried stargazing with binoculars in a city before?was it worth it?
also which binocular you think is better.a 10×25 or 8×32?
binoculars don't have the light gathering for stargazing AFAIK. Get a telescope.
>>2886228
Celestron has some good cheap ones specifically for this.
10x25 and 8x32 are generally going to be poor, as 25 and 32mm don't gather much light. 10x50 is fine.
>>2886228
Binoculars are literally a pain in the neck for Astronomy.
The idea of binoculars for Astronomy is fine (both eyes gives a brighter immersive view) but keeping them steady and viewing comfortably is another matter.
Even with a tripod after a few minutes you will crink your neck. There are elaborate mounts and 45 degree setups using mirrors that help but I don't think they are worth it.
I've owned plenty of binoculars over the years and now have a good quality 20x80mm pair but have pretty much given up on them for Astronomy.
That being said cheap 10x50s are good for hand held casual skygazing and learning to navigate the night sky. Avoid anything that has red "ruby" coatings on the lenses. It's usually there to hide the poor engineering inside.
I'm a city dweller too and binoculars will open up the night sky but don't expect too much. A cheap pair and a planisphere is a great start.
I forgot how to make the hipster filter in photoshop.
can somebody tell me?

I'd like to make face appear more realistic as I think it now looks like painted on (which it obviously is). Scar on her neck looks very real for example.
And yes, I know it is a shitty photo. I've focused on the scars on her neck instead of her eyes thinking I'm being clever producing hazy zombie eyes, but I've only managed to fuck up.
Also, please explain what did you do. I don't really know what each slider does yet. I have Raw Therapee and Lr available to me.

I want to make a more realistic zombie.
I would probably do something like, make her skin more white and blue/green like her face, so there would be no more healthy skin color left. Then I would make blood splatter on her face more red and looking wet. I would also make dark veins around her nose pop and achieve 3D effect if it is possible.
But I don't know how. All I can do is play around with the sliders in raw therapee.

you sure as hell can't do that in rawtherapee or light-room.
Neither of those programs is for special effects. 3D and texture work take far more than "moving a slider"
