I made this cool video of one picture. And named it picaliv=picture alive.
So it will give cool effects. More explanation in the video desctription.

PHOTOGRAPHY BUSINESS HELP
I've been working very hard building my business. It takes a ton of time, selling myself and admin work. I spend about 10% of my time actually taking photographs.
I have a stylist i use a lot because she works with real big jobs and has a great rate. most people don't have a good understanding of wardrobe for a photo shoot.
I spoke to my main stylist about a big client i have coming up and about how said client and friends make up most of my business. I asked her to please take care of everything wardrobe related for me.
LONG story short. the stylist wanted to move the date to the 22nd. VIP was initially avail 21st and 22nd so I didn't see an issue.
Couple days ago the client asked me what time we're shooting on the 21st. I replied that the stylist was hoping for the 22nd, was that still an option?
VIP read message, and I haven't had a reply in a couple days.
Pretty sure VIP is pissed so i asked stylist to forward her email convo to me.
basically the stylist just asked what VIP was looking for. Once VIP replied that was it.
No date change was mentioned or anything.
I'm pissed off and stressed out. I'm making that stylist $700 this weekend and i know she works for free on some jobs. The least she could do is provide some customer service.
Advice please on handling this situation. I just want the VIP taken care of & my 3 other wadrobe stylist are unavailable.
>>2884204
What do you mean by you are MAKING the stylist $700? Are you getting the client to pay for her services or are you paying her yourself?
I am going to approach it as you are paying her yourself because 1. You should be paying the stylist NOT the client
So with that said.. First accept responsibility for the fuck up, you should have known what the fuck was going on, but this is something you will (should) learn as your business grows. Having fucked up this job, dont fucking let it happen again and stay on the ball, how hard would it have been to communicate more with the stylist and client yourself to save this whole fuck up of a situation?
Also, do not think in terms of how much money you are making X person.. Think of these people as business assets, you can invest in your business by investing more into the people that you rely upon (since you cant do it yourself) to produce a quality product.
Now I am not saying if you had paid this particular stylist more she wuld have given your client better customer service, I would instead consider dropping this stylist for fucking up a job (that includes income, time and more importantly your reputation) but you will be lucky to find someone who will give 110% especially if they feel underpaid and/or are not getting anything themselves out of the job.
I would get rid f the stylist, wanting t move a date if it had already been agreed upon (unless due to extreme circumstances) is extremely unprofessional in the first place.. This with poor customer service, what the fuck are you doing bro?
I would suggest calling the client and explaining the situation, this is a business and so far their experience with your business sounds like it has been fucking shit. Fuck that stylist off, invest more into your business assets and do whatever you need to do to resolve the situation.
>>2884249
good job, you know how to use the word fuck.
The clients come to me wanting to shoot. I offer my stylists services and tell them her rate, give her website and they usually hire her. so yeah
the fucking stylist wouldn't be working that day without me.
I initially asked the stylist a few weeks ago, no response then i followed up with a phone call. she apologized, i explained to her the gravity of this one particular client, she wants to change the date and said she'd communicate with the client.
I FIGURED IT WAS FUCKING OBV THAT SINCE WE'D CHANGE THE DATE ON HER REQUEST SHE'D MENTION IT.
that was my bad and i do accept responsibility.
i considered firing the stylist already, it's more of a damage control inquiry.
you fuck
good advice on having me pay the stylist instead of the client but they usually just pay me at the shoot so i dont see a huge difference in them rotating their arm 15 degrees to hand the stylist their cut.
i used the stylist last year and noticed she got a little lax towards the end of the season. so this year i asked if her rate was still the same, hoping to solve any underpaid grudges. same rate so i figure that's a good number for her.
Ive set up a ton of shoots with stylists mua and assistants, this is just a freak accident.
does your fuckass operate a business that just formed out of nowhere? if you fucking did, im sure some simple things would haven fallen through the cracks.
so I need to find a way to tel the stylist we're shooting without her, should I fire her for the job 2 days after the 21st? I think so. stress

I took a trip with my mom to Chile last summer. It's like January, we said 'hasta luego' to the 44ºC heat we had at São Paulo and Santos, and greeted the 10ºC and lower that are common in Andes, Patagonia and Magallanes.
I'll be uploading some of the photos and snaps I took with my Nikon D7000 in this trip.

Hi. Let's set the so-so subject matter aside and assume you were walking around and taking photos, and this is what you saw.
Things to like: You organized the elements in the frame pretty well (with the graves framed a bit with the tree and background foliage, avoiding to many mergers/overlaps). You got low enough for a pleasing perspective. The edges are not distracting, you didn't totally oversharpen/clarity slider/saturation.
Things not to like so much: I get the "it's golden hour" look - but the color balance just seems off. The icky sky color doesn't help. The mage might be balanced a little too much left, the red background roof competes for a lot of attention (not that you can do much about it here)

Any half decent phone with a camera should have a file size option under the camera tab in the settings menu. Not too sure about android phones because I've always been an applefag, but I'm fairly confident there will be an option to shoot in a lower size/quality file. Have a hunt around your setting and take a look. Also google is your friend.

I used it for some time on both Linux and Windows. It is very capable especially with its plugin support but the clunky UI made me settle with Lightroom. Adjustment brush capability is limited though, you will need Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop for that.
Noise filtering is better than Lightrooms but in some cases gives dubious results in which cases the wavelet noise filter plugin gives good results.
The trial period is 1 month and gives unlimited access so it's easy to decide if you like it or not.

For those of you who like the outdoors and photography, is there a camera that's going to satisfy me ? I've had a Sony RX100M3 for a year now and it was great for traveling, but it's been damaged in the rain.
I would like to look at a waterproof DSLR but that's above my skill level. However if i pick up a cheap panasonic or olympus tough camera, I feel like I'll drop a fair way back in image quality.
What's the middle ground ?
>>2882748
there are several weather-sealed micro4/3 cameras like lolympus e-m5
>a waterproof DSLR but that's above my skill level.
why not just keep it in full auto mode, zero skill required
>>2882748
There's the Nikon AW-1, which is a J(4?) series mirrorless in a waterproof body. I think it's rated for 15m. It's horribly overpriced though and seems to have a high failure rate. Oly TG-4 and Ricoh WG-5 have the same lens and sensor, the TG-4 is the better camera overall but the WG-5 is much cheaper. I ended up going with Nikon's AW130, since it's rated for 30m and it had a practical lens and lots of GPS/connectivity features.
The hardest thing about waterproof compacts is accpeting that you're never going to get DSLR quality out of them, and you'll never get underwater DSLR quality period unless you're willing to spend thousands of dollars on housings and strobes. But the compacts aren't all bad; a little sharpening in post and you'd be surprised at how nice they can look. I recommend looking at sample images on flickr. Here's an unedited CAT PICTURE, sharpness isn't so bad from the start and contrast is decent. If your composition and sense are good you won't need to rely on IQ to make good images.
Just don't get a TG-870 or shit like that unless you want cellphone-tier garbage.

Why are most photographers either fat or skinny as hell? Some are also short as in 5'10 and below not to mention being ugly as fuck like sugar.
Photography is highly competitive and we should accept the fact that being tall, fit and muscular will help you succeed in this field.
You don't need to have 10/10 body and facial aesthetics but still you don't have any excuse not to gain dat muscle and lose fat.
I'm 5'11, 175lbs and decently built.
I find it makes you look a bit less creepy and people are less likely to get in your face while shooting street.
