I have a about 2500 rounds through a Raptor 2. I had 3 stove pipes in the first hundred rounds, has shot fine since. It's a good looking gun and I've been happy with it. For $650, I'd jump on that.

They are good guns just not worth the 1200~1700 msrp as they just don't have many features as similarly priced pistols. 650 is definitely a good price for one if it's mechanically sound

If you're going that short just obrez it.

308 does quite well out of 16/18 in barrels, however hunting with those calibers at he longer ranges isn't really ethical. If you switch to something like .300WM to try to compensate for it, you need to have longer barrel length to get the benefits of the 'magnum' part of it. Also, if you're shooting out to those distances, you can likely manage the extra barrel length.
